Steve Irwin, Australian hero, passionate conservationalist and well-loved Crocodile Hunter died while filming a segment for his daughter's TV show in the Great Barrier Reef off the coast of Queensland, Australia on Monday, September 4th. Steve was pierced through the heart by a stingray's barb. Not only are stingray's usually docile animals, but their attacks are rarely fatal. Unfortunetly, Steve was very unlucky.
Steve worked tirelessly for animal rights during his life is loved by millions around the world. He is survived by his wife, Terri, and two young children, Bindi and Bob.

Steve Irwin

When I was little, I was watching Animal Planet, when a funny sounding man came on. He was holding a lizard, to me an ugly lizard, but to that man, Steve Irwin, it was a beautiful creature. To me, a man who could talk so passionate about an animal was someone to be like. Steve was a great man, whose dream was to show to the world that animals are a thing to love and not to fear. Some people think Steve was crazy but I can prove Steve was not crazed. I am the proof. I love animals because of Steve. Steve was 44 when he died. He died doing what he loved. Steve left a world of people who loved him, especially his wife Terry and his kids Bindi and Bob. I hope every one remembers Steve for what he has accomplished. Steve was one of my roll models and he will always be a hero to me.

Steve Irwin has alaways been a role model for me.He taught me and the world not to fear animals. He died doing what he loved to do,and will not be forgotten anytime soon.2 kids lost their dad,1 woman lost her husband, the world lost a good man,and animals lost a good friend. And I hope that the Irwin family will not be sour towards animals because of their loss.

I have always grown up watching the man in Khaki wrestling on the ground with Agro. But when I was little I didnt think of this man as a mere crocodile hunter but more as the rolemodel for all wildlife lovers. The day he died he did what he loved. And his impact on the world will last forever. He may be gone but he will live on forever in our hearts and souls. Crickey. He cant be gone all the way. And someday Steve Irwin will be remembered better than the president. I think for a moment stop and think of what he did and how he helped the world, then his legacy will spread all over the world.

When I was a little girl me, my little brother and my father would sit down together and watch Steve Irwin.
He did such wild things. Such as wrestle crocodiles and handle huge snakes. It amazed me.
My father used to put on an Australian accent and pretend to be "hunting crocodiles" just like Steve Irwin. It made me and my brother laugh everytime.
As the years went by I'd still watch The Crocodile Hunter and be amazed at the stuff he did. I wanted to do it too. Everyone loved Steve Irwin.
I found out he died the day before I started my sophomore year of high school. I cried so hard you cant imagine. It was like a peice of my childhood died with him. I just could not believe that someone who seemed so fearless and invincible could be dead. It just wasnt possible.
My heart goes out to his family more than anyone. The world would be a better place if there were more people like Steve Irwin.
Rest In Peace.

Steve Irwin was a hero to people, and animals of all kinds of shapes, and sizes, and he was probably one of the most loved, and greatest people of our time. I can only hope that in years to come the children wont have to ask "who was Steve Irwin?"because they will already know him. The animal world lost a great warrier and the human world lost a great man. Some people think he harrased animals for the show, because they dont realize he was playing with animals long before animal planet was ever thought up.I personally miss him, I never met him though it was a dream of mine, but even though I rarely got to watch his shows its sad to me to know that he is not here anymore. But I know he is in heaven playing with animals all day long.

Steve died on September 4th 2006,shooting a show for Bindi on the Great Barrior Reef. The sting ray struck him in the chest, touching his heart. To everyones amazement he pulled the barb out of his chest.he died on the scene before the ambulance got there.I remember when I was younger this Austrialian sounding man came on animal planet and started to talk about about crocodiles.Well he got me interested in animals. So I watched more of his show and learned about animals. So He had a wonderful family. Two kids lost their dad,one women lost her husband, and one world lost a wonderful a man.Rest in Peace Steve. Now Steve that is gone its our turn to save this world.RIP Steve Irwin!!!!!
My tribute to Steve

I'll miss you Steve Irwin. I remeber when I was young, I was watching Steve on telly. He was holding a snake and telling everyone what a 'beautiful shelia" she was, even though she was posionous. I was scared of snakes, and our dad had killed one on the lawn the other day. I felt guilty about letting the snake be killed, and 3 years later, when there was one in our garden, we called a professional snake catcher, because Steve had made us realize that some animals were just trying to get some sun and get ruthlessly killed. Steve's attutide towards dangerous animals has affected the world, his family and even me. Love ya, Steve.

Hi, all my life i have loved Steve and all the things that he did for the environment. I believe in everything that he taught us and will always look after animals and plants. My father is a vetanarian so i have grown up around animals. At one stage, my family had 32 pets. Most of them were either rescues or part of a breeding program as their numbers are few in the wild. When i saw your website, I was touched. I would greatly like to be a part of it with your permission.
Even before Steve was well known, I always thought of the environment the same way he did. Now that he is gone though... I feel as if there is less hope for the natural world and all of it's creatures. When I am older, i hope that I can make a difference also. Although I most likley won't become as famous and inspiraring as he was- I can at least try.
Steve Irwin was a fantastic father, a loving husband, a friend to all the animals, and most of all, a good man.
The day we lost Steve, the world became a little duller, as if some small spark of hope had gone out. But his flame, it will never die completly, not as long as those who remain remember his teachings and continue where he left off.

Steve Irwin was one of my most favourite conservationist other than Jeff Corwin. He will always be the best, no matter what happens. He was one tough man, enduring bites from the crocodile and many other. The world lost 1 good man, and the television channel lost one good show. I watched his show every single episode, and can memorise all his shows. So go Steve Irwin. Your legacy will live on
