Hello! Thank you so much for taking the time to go through my portfolio. I've been wanting to apply to be a member of SunnyNeo staff for a long time now, but I wanted to build up some experience first. Here you'll find a selection of some of the things I can do. My abilities are in no way limited to what you see on this page. I'm sure there are lots of things that I could do that I've never thought of doing or never had a reason to do. Hopefully though, this will give you some small idea as to what I'm capable of.

I can code my own graphics. I recently decided to study Information Science in the hopes of one day becoming a web designer. In the meantime, I've found that coding and making graphics on Neopets is a great way to learn and practice.

The Goods

The meat and potatoes are just beyond this point! Everything you see here is a piece that I've made in my free time. Please feel free to use the navigation links to your left to travel quickly. You can always make your way back to the top by clicking the golden hexagon.

Layouts

This was my first-ever shop layout. The person that requested it asked me to incorporate their BC entry into the layout, so I took the colors and tone of the piece and even added the small portrait itself. I'm really proud of this first attempt at shop layouts. I think it's really cute for the most part, but I'd change the text in the header if I could. It's supposed to look like a fish, but the letters didn't take up enough space.

I made this layout for my own guild over a year ago and promptly forgot about it. It was my first attempt at a guild layout and I really like the background image. It's simple, but fun. The only thing I dislike about it is the "G.A.P." tag in the top left corner.

This is the only layout I've done that wasn't in response to a request. I like the way the main image came out and the colors are fun, but I'm looking forward to trying something a little more adventurous next time.

I really like this layout, but it was very frustrating because the background image I wanted to use was too big to upload without damaging it. The first layout I'd planned out was cooler, but the extra little flag in the bottom right corner of Shenkuu makes me happy. :p

I love the colors in this layout as well as the gorgeous picture of a RG Kyrii. I didn't draw it. It was given to the applicant that requested the userlookup layout and used with permission. I wish I'd thought to make the background a little bigger so that there wasn't so much solid color around the edges.

This is a really cute layout. I didn't realize how much I liked the Corgi until I created this as a request. I'm especially proud of the shiny dog tag navigation links. The main image is also a result my most successful use of the background eraser tool.

In those days, I was working feverishly towards a maraquan Gelert and wanted something with which to track my progress. I couldn't find any goal counters I wanted to use, so I figured out how to make my own. Each of my counters ranges from 0% to 100% by multiples of five. I take direction very well, but I'm also capable of making my own decisions. I always know when it's time to scrap something or just tweak it a little. In the same vein, I'm very patient. I will work on a project tirelessly until I'm happy with the result. <p>In terms of the graphics themselves, I think I'm best at making buttons. They're very small, but they can be intricate and they're always fun to make. I'm also pretty confident in my ability to create userlookups. Though I realize that the position at SunnyNeo would entail making graphics for everyone to use, I like to think that I'm very good at coming up with graphics that suit people well. This is important because it means I pay attention to detail and know how to accomplish what is required of me. </p> <h2>Weaknesses</h2> To my knowledge, the only type of layout that I haven't successfully created is a pet lookup. I haven't yet tried to make a gallery layout, but both of these shortcomings should be rectified in the near future. <p>I'm also very new to Photoshop. In the past, I simply used the less powerful programs that came with my tablet. I'm still learning the ins and outs of Photoshop as well as the rest of CS4 Design Suite. </p> <h2>How I Roll</h2> Pretty much everything I know about graphics and coding I learned from observation and online tutorials. Oftentimes, I'll find myself in an app chat looking for new and different ways to present information, as opposed to rating stories and future plans. <p>Everything that I read gets stored away for future use. I've recently started keeping a Word file of notes related to web design as well as bookmarking particularly helpful or beautiful web pages. </p> </div> </td> </tr></table> </tr> </table>
