Hello, guest. Welcome to my grotto. I see you have travelled far. My name is Aiyonae, and I am a white mage; a healer. It is peaceful here, in my grotto, but things were not always this way. Come closer, have a seat, and I will tell you the tale of an epic quest I embarked on with three others - Iori_Ichii, the Kougra Warrior, Maerryl, the Ixi Dark Mage, and Yeiries, the Morpher. It began during the month of Hunting many years ago. A great darkness came and covered the skies, and horrible enemies started appearing all over the land. Neopians everywhere cowered in fear, unsure of the fate that would befall them. At this time, I was living alone, quietly attending to my small garden as I honed my healing powers. One day, A white kougra with a large jeweled sword, appeared at my gate. He was injured and in need of healing. I helped him into my modest home and while I attended to his wounds, he regaled me with the story of his origin. He was Iori_Ichii, a brave warrior who had been bestowed with the blessings of all the faeries of Neopia. He had been fighting hard to defeat the enemies and rid our land of the darkness. With a weak smile and hopeful eyes, he ended his story by saying how he could use my help in his quest. A dangerous offer cannot be accepted easily, I replied to him, and left his side to go outside to decide my answer. It was while I sat, meditating amongst my flowers, that a light faerie appeared before me. She told me how she had been sent to me by the great faerie queen, Fyora. She knew of Iori_Ichii's request. If I would agree to help him in his fight, she told me, the light faerie would become my summon and help me in times of great need. I could not refuse such a gift. With my new faerie summon, I returned inside and gave Iori_Ichii my word that I would join him. We spent the next week travelling east across the land, battling enemies left and right. Whenever I thought the fight too impossible, my light faerie would appear and weave a strong spell to destroy the enemy. It was around this time that we arrived at the edge of the haunted woods. Iori_Ichii strode forward, full of courage, and I followed a half pace behind him, nervous. Suddenly yet another enemy jumped out at us. But before Iori_Ichii could wield his sword, a figure emerged from the shadows, chanting a mysterious spell, and the enemy disappeared in a ball of fire. The purple ixi then gave a small bow and introduced herself as Maerryl, the Dark Mage. We made our way to a nearby inn, where Iori_Ichii recounted the story of our quest to Maerryl while we ate. The mysterious dark mage revealed little about herself, but surprised us both by offering to join us. With Maerryl's spellcasting ability, our battles during the weeks that followed went so easily that I began to believe that there was no enemy that could stand in our path... Meanwhile, we were quickly approaching the land's edge. A vast ocean stood between us and our goal. There were no ships that would transport us for fear of the growing number of enemies where we wanted to head. I was close to losing hope. It was then that we happened upon a large clove of garlic. Iori_Ichii had thoughts of lunch on his mind, but it looked up at us with large friendly eyes. If you do not eat me, it spoke, I shall give you aid. We stood back, mouths agape as the creature produced a kalideoscope negg seemingly out of nowhere. Thick smoke enveloped the figure and, when it cleared, a great Flotsam lay in its place. This was our first encounter with the talented Yeiries the Morpher. TO BE CONTINUED...
