Prologue

It was a cold and rainy day in Neopia as usual, and Greuno was on his way home. I need to hurry up before these comics get soaked! Unfortunately Greuno was already too late, the rain has gotten worse. When it seemed there was no shelter to hide under, Greuno looked closer and suddenly saw a tiny little cottage in the distance. Desperate times call for desperate measures, nobody would decline a warm shelter with a weather like this! He immediately made his move towards the cottage and to his surprise, could get in easily. The warmth on his fur and the smell of freshly cooked Mochi soup were overwhelming and pleasant. This cottage was definitely inhabited, but why was there no one home? As Greuno looked around he noticed a small artefact that was similar to a Spyder web. It was decorated with several hand carved beads, colorful feathers and small bells that were making tinkling sounds as it was silently dangling in the draft. I've read about those! It looks like one of those dreamcatch thingies.. he thought to himself. Greuno quivered and somehow got an odd feeling, as if it wasn't a usual talisman.

Beautiful isn't it.

Greuno jumped back, frightened of the strange voice who just spoke to him. Wh-who said that?! He turned around and before him was standing an old wrinkled lady, gazing at the artefact. Her hair and clothes were messy but she looked harmless and friendly. I bought it from a dock worker when I was on my trip to Geraptiku. He said it was in the possesion of the Akoda tribe that believed in rituals that influence the power of dreaming. They both stared at the little talisman.

You feel it too, don't you.

Greuno nodded silently, still stupefied from the lady's sudden appearance. Here my boy. She carefully grabbed the artefact and gave it to Greuno. You seem to love this thing, you can take it with you if you want. I was about to throw it in the garbage anyway. She smiled and they both looked outside. The rain has finally stopped and the sun was shining brightful in the little cottage. Now hop hop my boy, time to go! She quickly packed up a bowl of Mochi soup for him and wished him good luck on his trip. Thank you m' am for your kindness! He made his move back home, holding the strange artefact tightly.

Greuno isn't like any other Grey Kougra. Compared to others, he's really cheerful, kind, energetic and full of life. He's always in for a little adventure, so one day he decided to go to the Neopian Comicstore that was way on the other side of town. Not only did he have an enjoyable trip, but also came back with some awesome comics and a strange little talisman given by an old lady that lived in a small cottage near the Woodland forests. The artefact was very beautiful and so he decided to hang it above his bed, where he could gaze at it all night. But while looking at the small item, he keeps sensing this strange vibe. As if it was trying to hypnotise him. Greuno was getting dull and decided to go to sleep.

Little did he know, this was where his real adventures began...

The feeling of a warm afternoon sun, the smell of grass and the sound of a little creek were lovely. But wait, are you supposed to feel, smell and hear all of those things when you're supposed to sleep?! Greuno quickly opened his eyes, immediately blinded by the intensity of the sunlight. When his eyes were finally used to the light, all he could see was this beautiful surrounding. Big trees with liana dangling around, exotic plants and flowers, birds whistling their songs up above the clear blue skye. All of a sudden Greuno was aware the skye was moving with him, he looked closer and noticed he was on a immense floating island. This was definitely not his attic room in Neopia central. When he just thought things couldn't get crazier, he again noticed something. A big blue something waving from side to side.. Wait a sec, this was his tail?! Greuno quickly ran off to the little creek and couldn't believe his eyes. Not only did his room turned into this huge floating island, he as well had a completely other appearance!

Out of nowhere, Greuno heard someone. At first he didn't understand what it was saying, but the voice became louder and louder and it seemed as it was calling his name. With a shock, greuno opened his eyes. He was back in his little attic room and saw his mother opening his curtains. Wake up son, time to go to school! Greuno looked up at the little talisman, and for a second he thought he saw the middle stone lighten up a bit. Greuno yawned, it must've been a dream.

As you just read, Greuno just experienced his first time in the Somnium status, also know as the 'dream state'. When someone sleeps, it is possible for the spirit to go to a complete other dimension. Of course, almost everyone is able to dream. But the place where Greuno was however, is not accesible to just anyone. It requires a special key. The key can be anything, a book, a necklace, even toiletpaper! As long as it holds specific powers. No one knows what caused them to have these powers, but some say they were given by the people of the Akoda tribe, an ancient tribe that believed in the power of dreams. It is known the tribe is extincted, but some believe they still live among us secretly.

Now take a wild guess what Greuno's key is.. Yes, the little artefact wasn't just a usual item, it's bewitched and consists special energy that guides the souls to the world of spirits. That world is called Kelandra and it's build out of several islets that are each connected to one another through bridges and paths. The Islands are covered with the biggest forests that have a huge variety of living organisms. Not only is Kelandra beautiful and comparable to a paradise, it's also known for it's enormous amount of spirtual energy. Some attempted to misuse this energy, but luckily no one has succeeded so far.

Zest will remain being Greuno's little fella. Not only do I personally think it's kind of rude to remove a petpet that has been, in this case, Greuno's for so long. But Zest actually fits the whole story perfectly. His looks and color pattern are matching wonderfully and to be honest, I really like those little Faerie Zomutts a lot.

Zest does only appear in Greuno's dreams though, since Greuno's mom is allergic to any type of feathered petpets. Zests' first appearance will be when Greuno is exploring one of the islands in Kelandra. Zest was trapped in some kind of enormous web, spun by one of the immarkable creatures that live among them in Kelandra. Greuno tried to save the little animal, but they both nearly survived it when this huge, gigantic Arachnid chased them, angry at Greuno for stealing his little meal. Fortunately, they both got away from the Arachnids poisonous fangs. After this little adventure, the Faerie Zomutt decided to follow Greuno everywhere and eventually they became best buddies Kelandra has ever known.

Not only Zest will be one of Greunos future friends, there's another strange being that will join Greuno with his adventures. It's similar to a butter- and firefly, but has very special energy and abilities. It's called a Nynt and it's basically a spirtual guide. Every Dreamer has a Nynt, because without one, you're not able to go back to the world of the living. Greuno's Nynt doesn't really have a name, he just calls it Twinklethingy.

Greetings
Yay! It's finally time to give you a proper introduction. c: I'm Nadia in't Veld, but feel free to call me Naad or Nado or whatever. You probably had some difficulties pronouncing my last name now didn't you. Well it's literally Dutch for 'In the field', speaking of weird last names no. I'm nineteen years old, born and raised in the Netherlands and also half Egyptian. So I guess that makes me a mix of Mummies and Farmers? o_O I'm currently still in high school and will start my last year of pre-university education. The school systems are a bit different in here, but I hope you know what I meant. As for my household, I live with my parents and brother, one cat, a goldfishy, one sheep, five goats, one horse and a donkey.

There are also a couple of things I love to do in my spare time. Obviously, I love playing Neopets and I'm online almost every day. It keeps me occupado and it just won't get bored no matter what. I also love to draw. Not really into realistic art though, I absolutely fail at anatomy. I myself usually make some doodles, strange characters or cartoon-ish drawings.

But enough about my real life, let's head off to the Neo part!

I've been playing Neopets for over 5.5 years now and started playing when I was around thirteen years old. A friend showed it to me and as I watched her playing games, I became more interested and eventually made an account of my own. That's when my addiction started, hehe. There are a bunch of things I do on Neo but most of the time you can find me somewhere on the PC. Just lurking topics and such. I can also be found on the Dutch Help boards. It's the very first board I went to when I was only a newb, asking questions about every little thing. Now I like to help those with questions, as I was helped in the past. Other things I do are Kissmoto (I bet that says enough), playing keyquest and I used to restock as well.

I haven't been frozen once and have had only one suspension so far. Not sure anymore what the suspension was about, I think it got something to do with inappropriate usage of language. Too bad some words in Dutch have other meanings in English.

Nadiaintveld was my very first account, followed by naadjupet which became my new main. The reason why I chose to change mains was simply because I had more random avatars on naadjupet.

Why me?
Here comes the interesting part, why I am an awesome owner for Greuno. Well, I most definitely dislike bragging about myself, but I'll take my chances! There are possibly some things about me you may see as plus points. I'm very, VERY active on Neopets. As I said I almost log in every day to make sure my pet are well fed, happy and healthy. I also think I'd be a good owner because I'm creative, I put a lot of effort in most of my characters and I really put quite some time trying to make them unique in some sort of way. Besides that, I try my darnest to give most of them a nice character or design. If not, then atleast a matching petlookup maybe. Work in progress though, still need to fix something nice for a lot of my pets. Well, enough bragging. It's self-degradation time!

Yes, there are a lot of things I lack what others probably do have. I'm slow in making lookups, designs, petpages and whatnot. Since those things take up a lot of time, I intend to take it slow. I'm also a noob when it comes at role playing or storytelling. The Dutch boards aren't as active as the English ones nor are there a lot of role playing topics. And I felt hesitant to start RPing on the english boards because my english is obviously bleh. Last thing, I couldn't give this application the full amount of dedication it deserved. For example, I don't have a complete story yet and I still need to work out the character a bit more. Those take up a lot of time and patience, which I currently didn't posses. Mostly due to the fact I had a busy summer, but I guess me failing at properly planning things is partly to blame as well. No worries though, I most definitaly intend to work on both as soon as I have enough time on my hands again.

Why Greuno?
It's probably better to ask, 'Why not Greuno?' :P When I saw that he was UFA, I knew I had to apply in a heartbeat. Not only because of the fact UC Grey pets are absolutely wonderful and his name is plainly awesomesauceness, but also because UC Grey Kougras have been my dreampets for a very long time. I have tried several times to trade up for one, but unfortunately with no luck. With Greuno UFA, I just HAD to apply. I absolutely adore his name, his looks and eventually the idea I had in storage for him. If I'd be chosen as Greunos new owner, I can assure you, I'd be one of the happiest Neopians out there!

Future plansO

As I was saying, if I were to be given Greuno, my happyness would probably look a bit like this. Secondly, I have bunch of plans in storage for him. Let me show you what I had in mind. (:

Home Account
First I'll start off with the account he'll be on. Greuno will probably be on either the account naaduu, pooglieaccount but preferably my main naadjupet. I haven't really figured out how to storage up my other pets, so that's why I'm not sure yet on which account to put Greuno on. Most likely however, my main account.

Customisation
Of course I'll be planning to give Greuno some nice clothing. Well, not exactly clothing, but some matching backgrounds and trinkets. There are a lot of spiffy items in the NC Mall and I actually already sorted out some customisation ideas for Greuno. I do have to mention I do not have ALL items yet, since I'm low on NP and also can't get NeoCash in my country. But as soon as I win some more Expellibox jackpots and play some more keyquest, I will buy them right away!

Beauty Contest
I know this is a very common plan people say they will do, but I'm actually really planning to enter Greuno in the Beauty Contest. I wasn't much of a BCer before, but I tried it a couple of times and realised it is pretty fun! BC spamming is kind of bothersome though, but I'm definite to get a Golden trophy for Greuno.

Not only did I have fun making this application, it also helped me a lot with drawing. Due to this application for Greuno, I learned how to draw big cats. And I have to say, I've never had this much fun drawing somewhat realistic pics.

But without any further ado, I have to say this application is at it's end already :'(. I would like to give my gratitude to Allie, for giving us all the oppurtunity to apply for one of our dreampets.
