Hello! It is here where you will find answers to commonly asked questions, or questions I know everyone wants to know the answer to anyway ;)
If you have arrived at this page wanting to read the ~Legendary guild FAQ, or want to know more about the guild rules/positions in council, you will find the links on the left of this page :)
The Wall of Legends is a project started by me, draik_bianca around the start of June, 2011.
The Wall of Legends project strives to recognise those in the Neopian community who have done great things such as gifting or being a good friend. This is just our way of saying thanks. :)
The idea came into my head one night when I was looking for a specific NC item for my newly gifted Tilai the ice hissi. Unfortunately I had just found out from someone I wanted to trade with, that the item was worth around 3000NC now. I only had 500NC, so I apologised and explained that I didn't know.
To my surprise they then gifted me the item and said I could just have it. I really wanted to show my thanks to them and others such as the people who gifted me most of my NC, and my permanent pets Phorzent and Tilai.
So the idea of the Wall of Legends was born.
If you would like to say thank you by adding someone to The Wall of Legends, please send superswickqueen a neomail with "Nomination" in the subject line. Please make sure to note:
Every week, or few weeks, new names will be added to the wall. But unfortunately not everything will be added. Before the names are added, the nominees that may be added will be neomailed if it's ok if we add their name to the wall.
If it is decided that for whatever reason their name cannot be added to the wall (this might even be because they said no), we will neomail you telling you why not.
You can nominate them for gifting you something (paint brushes, pets etc.), Being a good leader/member of your guild, or simply being a really good neofriend over the years. But don't let these suggestions restrict you. If you have any reason to thank someone, you are free to nominate them for it! :D
At the moment it is just me, but as the wall and the guild get a larger fanbase, it will most likely be the whole guild council including myself, and some of the higher up guild members. This will most likely be done through some kind of voting process.
If by prizes you mean neopets items (NP/NC), then no. This is against the rules. However, I'm in the process of making trophy graphics the legends can put on their lookup/petpage etc. if they so choose.
Nope :) Anyone can nominate.
Nope :) Anyone can be nominated.
Of course. If we are thinking of putting them on the wall, we will neomail them asking if it's ok. They do not have to have their full usernames published, however. If they would like to be on the wall with their real username not showing, they can suggest a nickname that may be added to the wall, this is acceptable.
Most definitely not! Imagine how many neomails the poor person who gifted a draik egg or rare paint brush would get! The only people that will know the reason will be me, the council and any other members of the guild that have the right to choose who gets inducted. But if any of these guys neomail one of the inductees asking for items, they are in big trouble ;)
Yes, this is fine. While the ~Legendary guild have set The Wall of Legends up to be safe from beggars/trolls, we understand that there is the possibility of being hassled by random people after being inducted in the wall. If you would like your username removed from the wall, or simply changed to a nickname, please send superswickqueen a neomail with "Removal" or "Change" in the subject line, depending on which option you choose.
This is very simple. You don't need to answer any questions or fill out any apps, just click the "Join Guild" button and you're in.
If the guild is set to private however, neomail superswickqueen with "Invite" as the subject, and I will send you an invitation as soon as I receive it, no buts :)
Once you have joined, it would be really nice if you could post a quick hello on the guild message board. This will let you get to know the other guild members, and will help the council know who has been active and who hasn't. In the future there will be guild cleanups, so the more you've posted, the less likely you'll ever get removed ;)
Ranks will be changed depending on how many times you've posted in the guild message board, how long you've been an active member and how much you have contributed to the guild (this could be participating with nominations, giving feedback, etc.).
Basic Ranks:
0-200 posts: Bronze (newbie)
200-800 posts: Silver
800+ posts: Gold
Special Ranks:
True Legend Rank: This rank is especially for members of the guild who have been inducted into the Wall of Legends. This rank doesn't give you any special powers by itself, but if you are interested in becoming Crystal rank and you meet the criteria, I can change your membership status to provide you with Crystal powers without removing you from the True Legend rank.
Crystal Rank: Members of this rank have mod powers, and some may also have other guild roles that will give them special guild powers. These members fall just under being on the council, and the council will handpick who gets to be Crystal rank :3
These are just some of the guild activities we hope to run in the future, when there are more members, and then possibly more activities will be run when an events planner member of council has been chosen.
These are some of the activities I'd like to run in the future:
Of course, none of these competitions will have item prizes, but there will be some kind of perk to winning one of these contests :)
Ok, so here are just a few things you should keep in mind in regards to the guild message board:
If you don't follow the rules, or a lot of people are starting to complain about you, you may be removed from the guild. If you feel one of the fellow guild members is singling you out/bullying you, please send me a neomail and I will sort it out! That kind of thing is not tolerated anywhere on neopets!
At the moment we're still a very small guild, but keep in mind for when there are more members, there will be inactive member sweeps for those under a certain amount of posts to the message board.
It is what it is. Whoever is the Co Leader will have the same responsibilities as me, but mainly only if I'm away. This role involves updating the guild home page, sending out any guild mailers that need to be sent out, and replying to different neomails from people. Directing the other council members and responding to their queries is also part of this role.
The co leader will need to be trustworthy, responsible, sensible and know what to do.
*Since the guild is still really small, this position probably won't be filled for a while.
The events planner is a pretty cool position in my opinion. They are in charge of running and organising any guild activities.
For example, this member of council would run things like Pet of The Month, and any other kind of competition.
However, any competitions run throughout our guild will not include np/nc/item prizes, this is against the rules. But the prizes may include you/your art/your pet(s) featured on the guild homepage, or maybe spiffy trophy graphics that can go on your lookup!
This member of council may have special powers to update the guild home page.
*Since the guild is still really small, this position probably won't be filled for a while.
The recruiter position will have an active role in bringing in not only new guild members, but also guild/Wall of Legends supporters.
This role includes making threads in mainly the guild board, and maybe mentioning our cause in other boards too (whilst staying on topic, of course).
This council member will have to be active, and will need to know that they will have the time to recruit. The recruiter will make any messages that can be copy/pasted into the board for other people to use, because you don't have to be the official recruiter to bring in some new supporters :D
*You may send in apps for this position, but keep in mind you have a better chance of being chosen depending on how long you've been a member, and how active/reliable you are.
This is what it is. It's your job to be on the guild message board as much as possible and delete anything that violates the rules, or could be questionable. This is not a bad thing, it could be potentially saving someone from getting silenced or worse.
This position carries the ability to delete posts, so only very trustworthy people will get this position. It is important that the carrier of this role doesn't abuse their rights, and doesn't delete posts unfairly, as well as letting the person know why their post was deleted.
If the head mod thinks that someone has repeatedly been a problem, even with warning, they will also have the power to instruct me to remove the member. Or if numerous guild members send me a neomail stating that they don't think the mod is doing a very good job, I also have the power to remove the mod from their mod status ;)
*Since the guild is still really small, this position probably won't be filled for a while.
