the basics

Welcome to Haven! Whether you have just joined the guild, or are considering joining, we are happy that you are showing interest, and we look forward to getting to know you.

Haven is a small adult guild, and we pride ourselves on our warm, family-like atmosphere. We keep our family small to keep a close-knit relationship among members. Hierarchy may have been retained for the sake of order and prevent chaos, but here in our universe, you are not just any quark - you are a quark among other quarks! Together we form what matters, no matter how tacky that sounds. :D

We are a great guild not because we claim to be the best guild out there, or because we have activities that amount to the snow in Terror Mountain, but because here we find a haven from the real world, through the memories we build, and most of all, in each other. This is the place where we gather, chat, meet other friendly Neopians and get help when we need it.

Monique
It's a Feepit! No, it's a Meepit! No, wait! It's a MOBUG! Mo is one of those rare diamonds who'd put asmile to your face even at the darkest of days. Any haven member wouldrecognize her crazy and infectious laugh anywhere. Bubbly, sassy, fun, randomand forever in denial about possessing a golden heart, she is more than just ourguild elder - she is a great friend whose mission is to gather as many babaas(a.k.a. cronies) as possible. Big time procrastinator, theres never enough time to procrastinate though!

Athena
Athena, Athy for short, and Athykad is her game. Ath's sole purpose in life within neoworld is to play, have fun, chat with the lovely guildmates and imagine she's in another universe altogether. You'd probably abjure the idea of her being a neopian adult, with the out-of-this-world bouncing and prancing that she usually does on the guild boards, but she really is! It's one thing that makes Athy just that much more special. One thing you need to know about her is that she talks to neopets, a lot - doesn't matter whose. However, don't let her crazy love for the weirdness turn you off from approaching her. She always has time to help out a friend/guildmate. Very approachable.

Jezzy
Jez is the superhero. She is always working on something or other either for herself, college or for the guild. She's the free security guard we get for putting her on council. That occasionally comes with a smile. She can be a meanie but don't be afraid if you haven't done anything wrong ;D After all, she is a superhero, they're all super nice. Jez also works on graphics for the guild, making the guild all sparkly and shiny is her specialty. Now isn't that nice? Alas being a superhero still doesn't save her from the real world.

Nea
Nea is always going that extra mile to help others, whether it be adopting out pets, searching for that ghastly faerie quest item, or just lending a hand, nothing is too much trouble when it comes to the guildmates and friends. She has an odd fettish for Kau's, her admiration shines through in her sparkling gallery. Nothing is ever a two minute wonder with Nea, she will take the time to do things, and make sure they are done right! And if its not, then she'll do it again! ... depending who you are of course! Nea is a very hard worker, so sometimes she gets sucked under by the nasty real world, but always makes sure to pop in even just to say Hello when the time arises!

Rules

the important stuff

As we have already said, Haven is a small, adults-only guild and our membership is available to Neopians that are 18 and older. Naturally we like our members to be as active as they can possibly be but let's face it... we're adults. Some of us go to school, some of us work, some of us have kids... in short, we all have lives. We also all have this little addiction to Neopets. Haven is our home-away-from-home where we can slack off, enjoy each other's company, and share our Neopian dreams and successes. We feel it is important to keep the guild as relaxed as possible.. for the most part, rules are for "real" life. However, even the most relaxed guilds have at least a couple of rules that must be followed

1. You must be 18 or older. Please don't lie about your age. Haven's council and most of our members have been around the Neo-block several times and won't be fooled easily, or for very long.

2. NO DRAMA: All drama gets left at the door. Period. It is reasonable to expect that any member may occasionally have a personality conflict with another member. If such a thing happens please do your best to take it in stride, accept the differences, and keep the conflict off of the guild message board. If a conflict is making you so uncomfortable that you feel the need to stay away from the guild board please discuss the problem with a Council member immediately so that we can mediate and attempt to help and fix the situation.

3. No Inappropriate Content: Even though Haven is an adult guild we are still on Neopets, which means we must follow the TNT Terms & Conditions and the TNT Chat Rules.

5. No chat speak please!! Some abbreviations such as *lol* are ok, but talking lyKe DiZ or "c u l8tr guys i gtg!" is just annoying. Smile

6. No spam messages or meaningless posts: Please keep to the topic being discussed. Try to keep your posts meaningful. Short posts just make it hard for people who want to read back on things they have missed.

** Posts which we feel break these rules will be deleted.

7. Be Active: Activity is a vital part of keeping the guild alive, dynamic, and interesting. In order to build strong relationships among family members, regular communication is needed. We would truly appreciate it if you come to the boards whenever you're online_ even if it's just a small hello and a quick update on what's going on with you. We're here to provide a home which you can be a part of by bringing excitement to it, not a parking space.

8. Inactivity: Please inform a council member via neomail if you are going to be absent. Indicate the reason for absence and the duration you expect to be inactive. Posts on the message board will not count as having informed us. Members who do not properly inform us of a leave would be susceptible to member sweeps at the end of each month.

9. Leaves. During your leave, do contact any of the council for an update of your status at least once a month. Not doing so might give us an idea that you're never coming back and would take action as we see fit.

** In any event when rules are broken, action will be taken as we see fit.

You've just joined the guild and are checking things out. Once you have posted 25 messages on the guild board please neomail Jezzybee and let her know which of the three ranks below you would like to be set at.

# Gamer
For you, Neo is all about the games and collecting those game trophies!

# Sniper
Do you spend a lot of time surfing the Shop Wiz, or waiting for those elusive restocks? Then this is probably the rank for you!

# Collector
If you like collecting those pretty pixels, whether it's avatars, pets, trophies or pretties for your gallery - this rank will suit you best!

# On Leave
This rank is for members that have notified us that you will be away or absent for more than one week. When you return from your absence your rank will be reverted to the rank you were at before your leave.

**Please neomail Monique to notify us of your leave of absence as inactive members will be deleted after some time.

Haven Classifieds
Yet another convenient directory where you can advertise pets UFA/UFT, shops, items on the trading post, and lend items or pets for avatars within the guild. Avatar Lending, Adoption and Guild Shop hub all in one place!

The Trophy Room
Where members shine! Participating in an occasional guild event or activity will always be rewarded with shiny trophies. All members upon joining are automatically given their own trophy cabinets.

Haven Badge
An annual event born from the belief that every guild member deserves recognition for the traits that we love about them the most. Usually held in December. :)

Family Gatherings
We try have guild gatherings when our schedules permit to get together to know each other better, have some fun and most importantly keep us close.

This is where we have little bits about ourselves to let us know more about each other. .
