Welcome
So beautiful to everyone
Only serves to remind me here
Of everything I haven't done.
Now becomes a vital chore
And everyone's watching me
Still expecting even more.
But sometimes I can't sleep at night
And here I wait and watch and sigh
Still standing in this cold limelight.

Basics
Name: Aditeya Gralven
Age: 18 years old
Chronological Age: 35 years old
Color: Faerie
Heritage: Half seraph and half angel.
Place of birth: Valhalla (Check this link for more info on Valhalla)
Family: Parents deceased. Living uncle by the name of Sorath, General of Valhallian Army.
Element: Light
Weapon: Cherry short bow.
Personality: Intelligent, perfectionist, reserved
The 'adoptive' daughter of the general, Aditeya is an excellent student, top grades in all her classes, and a remarkable marksman. Her outward appearance for her peers is as a responsible, intelligent and all-around very good student/soldier. That is until you walk into her room (which is a complete mess) or actually poke around her for longer than classes last, when you'd find out she doesn't study and is quite lazy with her work. The only thing she does do is practice her skills with the bow, it's like her hobby, and her obsession.
She doesn't have many friends, because she's usually quiet and somewhat 'cold' towards others, so she doesn't chat with classmates unless they ask her something. If you do get her talking, she'll brag for a while about her skills, but if you get past that she can be openly friendly, and if you give her the chance, she'll chat your ear off.
Even then, most of the time she's distant, and you have to take the 'active' role to keep her as a friend, or she'll just drift off into her own little world. In that she is a bit selfish in that she might use you as a friend when she needs one, and might have a hard time returning the favor.

Adhita and Rishi
On her fifth birthday, Sorath gave Aditeya a petpet as a gift. Valhalla petpets are much smarter in general than Neopian ones, many having the power of telepathic speech. This petpet, a faerie whoot, was no exception. Named Adhita (meaning scholar in Indian), this whoot was even wiser than the norm, becoming a helpful word in Aditeya's ear, and through the years something of a surrogate mother for the young angel.
Adhita keeps watch over her 'charge' as she thinks of Adi and helps her where she can. She is very loyal and caring.
Together with Adhita came a small fleaf, named Rishi (sage, ray of light in Indian). Adhita seems to like the company of the small bug, and claims it keeps her plumage clean of dirt, and so tolerates the parasite.
Her Story
Aditeya was born to a well-positioned family of Valhalla. Her mother, a prominent Seraph of pure white wings, was a Commander of the Army. Her father, a dark yellow winged Angel who was proficient in the use of magic, served under Sorath, the General of the Valhallian Army.
She was brought up mostly on her own because her parents were constantly busy with the military, but even then she had a loving home and her mother always showered her with care and affection. More importantly, they had high hopes of their daughter, a beautiful angel with magical aptitude.
When Aditeya was entering school for her first year, her parents were called off to a war and never came back. She took it fairly well for such a young child because she had been well-prepared for such eventualities. Sorath took her in as a foster parent, and to this day she calls him 'father'.
With her parents gone, but not forgetting their hopes in her, Aditeya plunged into her studies head-first, determined to prove that she was indeed as promising as they had told her she was. She became the top student in every class she entered and excelled at anything she tried to take on. A model student for her peers, this 'perfection' made her also seem distant, and she has never had more than one or two good friends with which to pass the idle time.
She chose the bow and arrow to specialize in, and by the year of her graduation, she had become a fine archer that had already taken on everything she could possibly learn, honing her skills and making her own attacks, mixing magic with archery.

All this perfection and skill has a toll, of course. Aditeya not only has the burden of her own longings but the pressure of others who admire her to keep up the 'good work'. She never truly shows how this pressure affects her, hiding it behind a ready smile and soft, caring eyes. But sometimes, when she is alone, she lets it pester her, and she'll often take on a sad, thoughtful look. Only her very close friends have ever seen her like this, though, and even then, she hides her worse moments to herself, not wanting to worry others.

Roleplay Archive
Here follows a sample RP, a sort of introduction for Aditeya, and a prelude to her arrival at the Xweetok Forest. I'll be adding more bits as she gets roleplayed and the story advances, as this will turn eventually into her story.
Aditeya - Hikaru
Saydnn - Diane
The sun was setting on the horizon. The campus was mosty empty, as the last students left. Aditeya sat, her feet dangling off the side of the roof of the tallest building. Her tail swished idly behind her as the breeze ruffled her feathery wings and white hair, which was tinged with the colors of the sunset. She was silent as she watched.
Saydnn looked around the empty hallways, searching for her friend. She knew Adi hadn't left yet, and the archery range had been empty. Shaking her head, she sighed as she walked up the stairs to the roof. As she opened the door, she broke into a grin, spotting her angel friend at once, seeming to glow with the light of the sun behind her.
Yo, daydreamer!" She called out as she walked over.
Aditeya's ears swiveled back as she heard the door to the roof open. She frowned at first, wondering who had found her, but smiled as she heard Sayd's voice. She turned to her friend, "Finally found me?"
Sayd grinned back, "Yeah, you sneaky girl." She sat beside Aditeya, sighing, "Almost made me think you didn't wanna see me!"
Adi chuckled, "Just didn't want to miss the last sunset on this roof." She replied, watching the sun touch the horizon. She picked up her cherry wood bow, standing.
The cherub watched the sunset as well, but turned to her friend as Adi stood, "What are you gong to do with that?" She asked curiously.
Aditeya just looked at the sun, as it descended, silence stretching for a few minutes. As the sun seemed about ready to disappear, she lifted her bow, an arrow of pure light energy forming as she drew the string back. As she let go with a twang, the shard of light sped up into an arch as the sun became a pinpoint of light. Then the arrow's light mixed with it, making it seem as if the sun was still visible.
Sayd watched in awed silence at her friend's ability, then grinned. /Holding back the last sunset./ She thought with a shake of her head. "So where will that arrow fall?" She asked finally.
Aditeya watched her arrow, and as it lost altitude and fell towards the ground, she waved her hand and the light disappeared. "It wont." She said simply, smiling as she sat again.
Heh..." Sayd was amazed at her friend's control over her projectiles even at such a distance. "So... what now? Your dad has your Flight picked out, doesn't he?"
Adi scowled, "He does, although I asked him not to show favoritism." She replied. "But he says he always chooses for the best of the institute, and I can't say anything against *that*."
Sayd sighed, her wings flickering in slight envy of her companion. "Well I wouldn't mind... I've got to wait till the lists come out... Why don't you ask him to put me in your Flight?" She said hopefully.
Adi glared at her friend, "You know I wouldn't want to abuse my influence that way..."
Sayd winced, and looked away, "I know... but it'd be fun if we could keep seeing each other after this... and we make a good team!"
Adi sighed, "I'm sorry, you're right of course, and knowing dad, he just may have already done that for us anyways." She said with a wry grin.
The cherub laughed, "Well then, no problem!"
Adi shook her head. "I'm not entering the Flight at once... not if I can get away with it... I'm going to ask father if I can take a year off, go travel Neopia, before I enroll."
Saydnn blinked in surprise, "What? Why? I thought you really wanted to be in a Flight!"
Adi nodded, "Yeah, well, I just wanna get away for a while... relax and not have to do things for others, and get maybe some real experience in the deal."
Sayd nodded, "I see... makes me think of the Arch-Angel peregrination."
Adi shot her friend a look. "Those are five years without wings, and no memory. Completely different." She said sternly, as if scandalized by the thought of comparing the two situations. "And you know the Gem chooses."
Sayd lifted her arms in mock defense, "Joking!! Joking, geeze!" She laughed, "It'd be cool though, don't you think? We *are* missing one candidate..."
Adi didn't look like she agreed. "That'd be more responsibility, and it means giving up the possibility of love..." Her voice became soft at this. She hadn't had any infatuation at school, she hadn't permitted herself the time to fall in love.
Sayd sighed and looked at the dwindling colors of the sunset. "Well, maybe I could go with you then, I doubt General Sorath would let you go alone anyways."
Adi scowled again, but knew it was probably true. "You'd go with me? And not join? Isn't it your dream as well?"
She shrugged, "I don't mind. Besides, I like hanging around with you anyways." She grinned at Aditeya.
Aditeya laughed, "True. I'll ask father then, we'd best head back before it gets any darker."
Saydnn nodded as she stood, "Yep..."
After this first scene, much has happened in the story called the Valhalla Saga. Much too long to add to a petpage, here are the links to the rest that has been edited as an ongoing novel.

Dear Susan,
Hello there! I am Vanilla, a fellow guildie in The Xweetok Forest, the guild Hikaru is in. So, why am I writing this? Simple. To tell you why Hikaru would be the best owner for Aditeya!
Well, as you can see by the wonderful layout and artwork, Hikaru is an AMAZING artist! I think this is the most artwork she's ever put on an application before, so she obviously loves drawing Adi. Also, did you see the unique design given to Adi by Hikaru? Such a great design, one of the best I've seen!
Hikaru is also an avid RPer, so you can be assured that Adi would be RPed, I just know she would!
Hikaru is an overall kind person who keeps everyone in line in the guild she is council in. She's a great person, and I know she'd be the best possible owner for Adi. I hope you choose her! Best of luck to you and Adi for finding a perfect owner!
~ Vanilla
Dear Susan,
Why hello there, I'm Calixte. I'm a member of the The Xweetok Forest, the guild Hikaru is in. First off I'd like to say Hikaru is extremely nice and always helps out with guild things and pretty much anything else. She very active in the guild and her pets are well taken care of. As you can see Hikaru is an amazing artist, one of the best I've seen. She is also an amazing role-player.
Hikaru's design for Adi is simply the best and she loves to draw her. I guarantee Adi would be role-played and drawn /a lot/. Good luck finding Adi the perfect owner ^^
Love, Calixte
Dear Susan
My name is Sammy, and I am in Hikaru's guild, The Xweetok Forest. Anyway, I am writing this in hopes it will get Hikaru Adi, your Faerie Xweetok. Here are just some of my reasons.
1. Hikaru is an amazing artist, so don't worry about lack of art with Adi. In fact, there may be too much LOL.
2. Roleplay, Hikaru roleplays daily, and while I have never rped with her *snifle* I love reading about all her rps.
3. This is probobly my best reason. Hikaru loves Aditeya, and will never leave her, so Aditeya will have a bright future, only if she is given to Hikaru. Anyway thanks for reading this, and Good luck Hikaru ^^Yours sincerly, Sammy
Hello Susan!
I am Cat, one of Hikaru's guildies (as I call fellow guild members). I am pretty sure you know why I am sending this, but I'll say it anyway: to tell you why Hikaru would pwn as Aditeya's new owner.
First off, her art work is some of the most amazing that there is in all the universe. She's been drawing Aditeya a lot, and I know that Teya is well loved by Hikaru. Second, Teya wouldn't be ignored. Hikaru roll plays daily, and from the looks of it, Teya is destined to be one of her future main role play pets. Hikaru never neglects her pets either, so I'm positive that Teya would be as happy as possible on her account. ^^
I wish you good luck to findind Teya a new owner (although I really don't think you need to look farther than Hikaru) and also, good luck to Hikaru! I know that Teya will get the best with Hikaru! That concludes this message with a cheery goobye. ^^
~Best of luck, Cat
Wow. That's all I can say when I see this application. I'm a harsh rater and when she asked for critiques on her app on my board, I gave her 147/165.
And I was being harsh.
I don't have to know Hikaru to be able to tell you that she is the best person to apply for your pet. I'd be extatic to know that someone with such talent and determination was wanting my pet. Someone that I /know/ would love my pet.
This is Hikaru.
First of all, look at her art. Need I say more? Stunning, and nothing less. Your xweetok will get nothing but masterpieces from Hikaru.
Second, content. You can tell that she's a sweet girl, a smart girl and a girl that is determined.
And third... just her. I've met Hikaru on the boards before, and at first I contemplated writing a reccommendation for her, but I was feeling lazy so I didn't. But here I am, writing one for her now. Why? Because she deserves it.
Just as she deserves Aditeya.
Love, Christie
Dear Susan,
I am a fellow councilmember of Hikaru's at The Xweetok Forest. I'm not used to writing recommendations, but Hikaru is a Neopian worth the effort. Hikaru is an active roleplayer and probably the most mature and responsible Neopian I know of. In addition to being helpful, upbeat, and supportive of all members, she is literate to an advanced degree, superbly artistic, and highly creative. She is one of the rare few who is talented in both literary and visual mediums and roleplays on a daily basis, working constantly to improve herself and her characters. She has put an extraordinary amount of effort into Aditeya's application and identity, and I hope you consider her application with utmost seriousness.
Respectfully,
Raile. G. Darin
I honestly have no idea of how to start this. I was browsing around on Neopets and happened to come accross your application for Aditeya. I was absolutely astonished! The music, the art, the writing! I was completely blown away. You are obviously one great Neopians and I highly admire you. Just by reading that application I could tell you were an awesome person with great character. With your talent as an artist and your limitless creativity, you are definitely somebody I would like to meet in real life.
The one thing that most stunned me in your application was the personality you made for Aditeya. I was shocked because she and I are almost the same. An A+ student, always excelling and trying to live up to the expectations of others, often called 'sweet' by sympathetic adults, and basically cold and distant by peers. You've mirrored me in ways I've always had trouble putting into words, and even though I don't know you, I am extremely grateful to know that there are people out there who understand the depths of someone with a personality like mine.
Needless to say, I hope you are chosen to be Aditeya's new owner as she will obviously be kept in good hands. And I also hope you do not suffer the same unfortunate fate Mew did in our transfer with Risaki. You put a lot of work into Aditeya's application as Mew did for Risaki with me. An auto-adopter doesn't deserve to even look Aditeya compared to you. Good Luck!
Hi there Susan! Yes, I was going to be an applicant for Aditeya. Anyway, even with everything that has gone on, I'm really happy for a certain someone. Thank you for giving Hikaru another chance.
Hikaru's art is fabulous - I could just wrap myself up in it! I love how her content just seems to flow, and it's practically flawless. Her design is delicious - I could literally eat it. I know that if Aditeya goes to Hikaru she'll be loved alot, and she'll be the most famous pet due to herself and what Hikaru could do with her combined.
If you're looking for the one owner who will love her to pieces and make her shine even brighter - then you found her - Hikaru.
With all my heart, Kara
Dear Susan,
I haven't known Hikaru that well on neopets. But it seems to me that she is VERY dedicated for Aditeya. Her application is the best and most dedicated one I have ever seen as I have been playing neopets. I know deep in my heart that Hikaru really wants Aditeya to be in her family. If I were you I would have already chosen! If you back down on her you will never get an application as good as this ever again. So take your chance while you can!
Thank You
And we come to an end to this application. I hope it wasn't too long to read, I tried to keep it short and sweet so as not to bore you, while still including enough for you to gauge my worthiness for adopting Aditeya. It's been a lot of fun for me, I truly enjoyed creating her as a character, and as you probably noticed I've had a lot of fun drawing her as well.
I am quite proud with this application and her character, because, like when I created Gilaxy, I realize I've created another lovely character than many are calling themselves a fan of. And that is the highest praise as an artist and writer you may recieve.
Thanks to everyone who helped me in some way on this process of creation, be it with praise, fanart, customs, references or just plain enthusiasm every time I made some new piece for it.
I'd like to thank my guildmates for support, Neopounders for their cheers and ratings, and TNOers for their comments on my application (Thanks Jenn for eliminating those extra commas XD).
I'd also like to thank to all those visitors who've come to peek at my application, be it from the BC boards, Premium Charter, TNO, Neopound or elsewhere. I hope you liked what you saw here, and to those of the BC boards, let's hope we'll meet again in the near future, with me advertising Aditeya.

Link Back?
This is the link button people can snag to link back to Aditeya's petpage. I like the fact that its use of her markings makes it more obvious the reasoning behind them, since Aditeya means 'The Sun', it is only fitting that her markings resemble the sun's rays of light.
