My name is Adges and I am a farmer. I've lived here in Meridell for most of my life now. Let's see, I was born on March 24, 1976, so that makes me about 36 now. Oh, being a Kougra I age more quickly than you humans. I've never cared much for those fancy paint jobs, so I've been red since the day I was born! I was an only child, and my parents were glad that I was a boy. They were very traditional, and honored the old Mystery Island customs.

.Kouji. First, I think I should tell you about Miss Kouji. If it weren't for this little lady, I wouldn't even have my farm. When I first moved here from the Island, I didn't have anywhere to go. It was just me, Helper, and a wagon of potted juppies. Being just a young tourist at this point, I thought I'd check out Meri Acres to see if I couldn't find work there. I offered my help in exchange for someone to put me up until I found a plot of my own. Many of the farmers weren't too keen on letting a foreigner in. They were nice enough to let me stay but usually never for more than a week or two at a time. Not to mention, no one would allow me to plant my juppies. They stayed in their pots in my wagon. A couple of the farmers thought that they might contaminate their crop, some of them warned me that they may not take to the soil, others didn't even let me stay long enough to attempt planting them. They all made Helper sleep outside, the poor thing. I knew I had to find a permanent home and fast. I reckoned that selling my juppies was all I could do to pay for at least rent on someone. I went to the market and proceeded to unload my wagon. I figured some folks would pay a pretty penny to have an exotic fruit like this, but it seemed that a lot of them had never heard of it. I cut one open and had Helper give out samples to folks. To my dismay, mostly people only took the free samples and didn't bother to buy the whole melon. I probably sold two out of the fifteen that I had. Just as I was about the call it quits, fortune smiled my way. A tiny little lady, one of the New Worlders, noticed my juppies and I and decided to stop for a look. She told me she'd heard of them, but had never gotten to try one for herself. She tried a sample, and then a few more, and she obviously loved them! She asked me where I was staying, since she knew I wasn't a local. I told her that I didn't really have a home, and she made me an offer that I couldn't refuse. She said she'd let me stay at her home and crop her land in in exchange for a payment of juppies. Needless to say, the rest is history. I've been selling my juppies for seven years now, and I've turned such a profit that I've got my own thriving farm and I've even been able to hire a few ranch hands. Helper's still the only one who works the fields with me. He's the only one I trust with my jupps. It's all thanks to Miss Kouji, though. Without her, I'd probably be back in Mystery Island, covered in salty air and sand.
.Zinhka. The next most important friend to me is Zinhka. She was living with Kouji when I first moved in. She's was so young then, but she's really matured since. She was always hanging over me when I would work outside. She was the only one living with Kouji at the time, so having me there was exciting for her. She'd aptly follow me into the market and help me sell my fruits. She'd bring me lunch outside, and even entertain Helper when I wasn't using him.
