Let's start from the very beginning. Lyndall Kohana flew from Japan to England to finish her studies there. Meanwhile, Anthony Wong, born in China, had lived most of his life in England along with his family. They met at the university and were married as soon as they graduated. Their first child, Justine, was not of magical blood. Two years after, and shortly after the Wong family moved to a place beside the beach, Adeline Choi Wong was born.

Since she was Muggle-born, she didn't know anything about Hogwarts or magic until a handsome tawny owl came knocking on their window with the letter. There had been signs, of course, that Adeline was in fact a witch. At the age of four, a carpet had mysteriously disappeared from on of the bedrooms. Then there was that incident at school, where the chains on the swing had broken off when Adeline's worst enemy was sitting on it.

Since the day Adeline set off to Hogwarts, the once friendly relationship between her and her sister wavered. This was mostly due to jealousy and sometimes fear -- fear that Adeline might curse Justine in some way. Her parents were extremely proud of their youngest daughter and somewhat intrigued by this discovery.

Adeline found herself at home in the school of Hogwarts, placed in the Ravenclaw house. But in her heart, her little house beside the beach would always be her home.

You can never see what Adeline is thinking. Her calm, blank expression cannot be penetrated by anyone except a truly good friend. Adeline hates showing emotion and making her face into more of a mask has become a habit.

Logical, and mainly calm, Adeline is not one to slack off. She's a studious and hard worker -- maybe even a little too serious with her studies. Adeline never leaves thing until the last minute, and can be seen working late at night on an essay that is only due in the next week. She is intelligent and creative, and prefers reading to watching a game of Quidditch.

Friends would say that she was loyal and very determined. Adeline would try again and again, never giving up. She was a bit stubborn, too, and annoyingly persistent.

Others see her as a cold, unfeeling Ravenclaw who practically lives in the library. This is because her smiles are rare and laughter virtually non-existent. Those who do not know her cannot see that she is a sympathetic person who strives to make others feel better, but hides all her own feelings.

She is easily shattered. One piece of criticism from a teacher could leave Adeline silently moping for days. She basks in praise and detests put-downs directed to her.

Adeline gets stressed out and cranky at times of examinations.

Adeline is surprisingly gullible and doesn't have much sense of humour. She uses sarcasm instead of jokes.

If there was one word to sum Adeline up, it would be: shy.

In Adeline's second year, she was a Quidditch fanatic. Being Muggle-born, she had never seen anything like it before and wanted badly to be a part of it. She bought an old, second-hand Cleansweep 500 from another student and tried out for the position of Seeker in the Ravenclaw team. This turned out to be a disaster -- Adeline lost control of the broom in mid-flight and crashed into a tree. After that incident, she wasn't all that keen on Quidditch anymore.

Gorgeous. But lethal. Big ego, good looks -- not the best combination. She reckons that the girls who fall head over heels for him are just making fools of themselves.

Remus Lupin
She thinks he's a nice, decent guy who actually takes his studies seriously. She admires him from afar inside the library, but has no actual feelings for him.

Peter Pettigrew
He's sweet and harmless. It amuses Adeline to see him get flustered and sometimes agrees to help him with homework.

Lily Evans
She thinks Lily is a bright, likeable person who would make a good friend. But she hasn't actually spoken much to her...

Severus Snape
A nice guy, but a follower. Gets caught up in the dark deeds of his friends but Adeline thinks he's alright.
