Joshua Ryan Wilcox was born in Nashville, Tennessee, May 7th to a musically talented family in 1992. His mother, Mary Smith was -and still is- a singer that was discovered at the youth of 13, and his father, Brian Wilcox played occasionally most of musical instruments. For example, he played the guitar, the piano, the violin, the bass, the trumpet, and the drums. His parents met one day in Nashville for a music festival they were both preforming in. They've stayed in Nashville since they've first met, and will probably stay there forever; they love it there. Joshua has 5 brother's and sister's, 3 sisters, 2 brothers. He's the second to youngest in the huge family. Yes, it is a big responsibility raising this family, but Mary and Brian have taught them well.
Joshua plays the guitar, drums, the bass, and piano and takes lessons from his dad. Guitar was his first instrument he started to play when he just turned 5 years old; he got a guitar for his birthday. Later, when he had turned 6, he started playing the piano, and shortly after that, he tackled the bass. When he was 8, drums started to make him interested in them. Every time they would go to their local music store Joshua would always play with the sample drums in the window. After Joshua's dad saw his interest in drums he started teaching him how to play. Joshua's favorite instrument is his acoustic guitar, and his electric guitar the he plays 3 hours each and every day, no exceptions, he's quite the dedicated one.
Birth: And now, introducing Mary Wilcox! The big announcement boomed throughout the stadium sending the huge crowd on their feet, clapping and whistling. Out from behind the curtain and unto the stage came a women, with an enormous belly, whom was with child. She squinted her eyes from the camera flashes coming from the audience. The date was May 7th, 1992 and Mary was in her 30's. She was about to sing live for the audience at a music awards competition, yet, Mary was supposed to be at home, resting, since she was due any time now. She smiled her perfectly straight, white teeth from where the miracle work of braces showed, and held the microphone to her mouth and said: Thank you to everyone in this room for making so many miracles come true, I owe a lot to you wonderful people. Mary smiled again as the music boomed across the stadium, and she began what she was known for: singing. Her husband and her 3 kids watched from backstage, her husband worried for her due date was today. He had tried to pursuade his wife to stay at home but she refused. Just then, the microphone dropped from her hand and she held her stomach tightly, shooting a glance to her husband worriedly. Brian ran across the stage to help his wife off while the audience gasped, everyone's eyes wide opened. I think it's time, Mary whispered in between huge breaths, holding her bulging stomach. Brian nodded quickly, and left the stadium leaving the huge audience flabbergasted of what had just happened. Yes, sir, she's going to be just fine. Brian smiled at his wife assuringly, she tried to smile back. Oh, good. Has she given birth just yet? the manager asked a little impatiently. Brian rolled his eyes, for he had known how Mary's manager was; impatient. No, not yet sir, bu- Brian was cut off by a shrilling cry that could only belong to a small little creature; a baby. Yes? But what, Brian? Brian smiled and laughed a little bit, Sir! She has just given birth to my son, then he hung up quickly and ran to her side to look at the newborn. Mary looked up at him with a smile on her face, but then it turned into a frown. Oh, what should we call him? I hadn't have thought about that.. I hadn't either. Oh, did you remember that Joshua's anniversary of his death was to- he was cut off, again. Joshua! Mary squealed. Let's name him Joshua after our good friend! I have always liked the name Joshua, she smiled, looking at the sleeping baby. Brian was taken by surprise. Sure, of course. I like the name Joshua, he looked down at the baby as well. And his middle name can also be Joshua's middle name; Ryan. Brian smiled, and looked at the nurse who had just came in the door about to ask what the baby's name was going to be. His name will be Joshua Ryan Wilcox.
5/17/97. 6:17 p.m. Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday, dear Joshua! Happy to you! The happy singing of small children ran throughout the home of the Wilcox's. Today was their youngest son's fifth birthday party and all of his friends was celebrating him. Oh, first make a wish, Joshy, his best friend Emily told him quickly before he blew out the candles. Joshua giggled, closed his eyes, then blew out the candles. As soon as he made that action, it seemed like every one of the children asked of what he wished for. Joshua then, softly whispered what his wish was: I want one of those pretty things my daddy has, and he pointed to his father's guitar at the corner of the room. Joshua had always liked what his father had played, and the beautiful noise the instrument had made. Present time! Brian, Joshua's father, yelled from the other side of the room. The kids squealed and ran over to the other side. Open this one! No, open mine first, Joshua! They pushed and shoved one another, wanting their present to be opened up first. Well, I'm going to be first, sorry kids, his father chuckled, setting a huge present on the table. Joshua's eyes got big. Woah! It's big, Joshua said in awh, staring at the wrapped present. Why don't you open it then? Brian suggested, and chuckled. Joshua nodded, then hurriedly ripped open the present. Well, it looked plain boring to him at first; it looked like jeans, but it was hard. And it had some kind of brass button laced with a curdory sash around the ends of it. He opened up the long part of it, and he started getting excited; it looked exactly like a guitar. Brian helped his son open up the case and there was a polished black guitar in the inside. Woah! Daddy! Thank you! he exclaimed and gave his father a big hug. It's just what I wanted.
