Go away
You stumble over the bare rock and seek shelter in a cold, dark cave. The wind whistles eerily through the cavern of damp rock, and through the winds noise, you swear you can hear a muffled scream. The wind drops. Silence. With the hairs on the back of your neck raised in fright, you creep towards the back of the cave. Now you can see two things, a girl, lying quite still in a pool of blood, and a dark lupe leaning over her. My Story Lightning flashed and rain fell, upon the last battle of the wolves. Some would think it the wolves fault, as they had taken the mens animals many times, some would blame the men, for trying to take the wolves land. But in the scuffle, of throat tearing and gun fireing, nobody noticed the real cause of the battle, a young wolf with the rune of death displayed on his back leg, slipping away from the battle, accompanied by his father. I awoke at the edge of a copse, far away from home. My memories of what happened last night were blurred, seeming unreal in the bright daylight. The storm...the battle...my flight...my father... Apparently, Star knew a lot about medicinal herbs. She had been tutored about them as a very young pup and she had me feeling better in no time at all. In the first few hours we had known each other, we had become best friends, sharing secrets, stories and things about ourselves which we wouldn't normally speak of with others. The way we both had runemarks linked us together and we had many things in common too. That night, we slept in a warm meadow underneath the stars, with Star, quite boldly, sleeping with her muzzle and paw resting on my chest. We never thought the hunters would catch up with us. Now I was running away. I ran blindly, with images of the last few hours me and Star spent together flashing through my mind. There would be hunters after me now, lots of them, but I didn't care. We'd had fun, but we'd wasted time. We should have run, gone far away where hunters couldn't have found us. But it was too late now. Too late... The professor laughed aloud in joy. His project was complete. He had just perfected the technology that had the capability of bringing creatures back from the dead. Now all he needed was a suitable subject to test it on. He was thinking of going into the village and killing someone, when a blue animal fell from the sky and landed with a loud crack outside his -blocked- Perfect. I floated up, up towards a beautiful light. There was Star, as pretty as I remembered, waiting for me beside a shining gate. She smiled at me and laughed when I cringed. I laughed as well, and raced towards her. It was taking a long time to get there, but soon I was in reach of her... A sharp pain ripped through my chest and I yelped, as if struck by lightning. How could I feel pain? More pain, all through my body. I looked at Star, my eyes watering in pain. She reached out to help me, but I was being pulled back. I yelled in protest, but now I was being feircly yanked back down, down... It's alive," gasped the professor, grinning with joy and fear. It was difficult, but he had succeeded, and brought the creature, a wolf, he guessed, back to life. It opened one eye, it's pupil blue because of the technology it was enhanced with and the other remained permanantly open, constructed of red glass. The wolf opened it's mouth, and the professor leaned forward, mildly suprised to see the look of pain and anguish on it's face. The lupe senses your presence and turns to face you. You nearly cry out in fear when you see him clearly. He has blue stitches running down his back, a robotic leg and paw and both of his eyes are an angry red, but one is made of glass.
I didn't mean to do it," he growls, with a quiet calmness that makes you shiver, "It was an accident, sometimes I don't know my own strength..." his teeth flash brilliantly as a small shaft of cold light falls through the cave entrance. You slowly try to back away, "All of the people on the other side of the mountain are after me," he continues, ignoring your fear, "And I can't afford anyone going and telling on me, can I?"

This is all my fault!" panted the young wolf as his father kept him moving.
It's not your fault, now go! I have to go back and help your mother!" growled the larger wolf, turning to rejoin the battle. A hunter had seen the wolves try to escape, and had come to finish them.
I didn't want this to happen. I don't want you to die for me..." whispered the cub, backing away.
The father wolf circled the hunter, "Run!" he barked as he leapt at the man.
Gunshot pierced the air.
The cub ran.
I was scratched and sore, hungry but not yet broken. I had to keep moving. It was a pleasent day at least. A sound of feirce, hungry howling broke the silence. Hunting dogs.
I got unsteadily to my feet, and ran as fast as I could. After a while of running, I slowed down. I could no longer hear the dogs, or any people. I roughly licked a scratch on my leg, I was stinging all over. I was in a lonely wood. I jumped when I heard a feirce sniff behind me. I turned around to see a hunting dog.
But she was not how I imagined a hunting dog. She had very neat brown fur, a pretty pink collar and curious green eyes. But she was fast. I knew this because I was running away from her and she jumped on my back, and although she was lighter and less muscular than me, she brought me crashing to the ground. She got off me when I stopped wriggling and stood back to take a look at me. I looked at her too, and saw her eyes were wet.
What's wrong?" I asked, without thinking. Her green eyes met my red ones and she relaxed, seemingly giving into her emotions.
You wouldn't understand," she growled, turning her short muzzle upwards.
Maybe not..." I said, sitting up with some difficulty. Our scuffle had left me with new bruises, "But I'll still listen."
She smiled vaguely and licked the tears from her muzzle, "The other dogs...they don't like me. I don't fit in...and sometimes...I just feel like everyone's against me..."
I edged towards her, "Well, I understand that," I said and she smiled, "Forget about them, they don't know anything. I can't see nothing wrong with you."
For a moment, I thought I'd said the wrong thing, as her lip trembled, and her eyes welled up again, "Can you keep a secret?" she whispered, before I could say anything else. I nodded slowly. The dog pushed up her collar and right there, shining baby pink on her neck was the rune of strength.
I made an involuntary gasp and tears spilled down her brown cheeks, "Don't cry," I said, and, standing up, I showed her the rune of death on my thigh, "I'm Wire," I growled softly.
The dog stopped crying immediatly and looked at me with suprise, "Um, I'm Star," she smiled, licking a scratch on my nose. I cringed and she laughed, an instantly likeable sound. "Come on," she giggled, walking on a bit.
What about your owners?" I asked, not wanting her to get into trouble.
What about them?" she laughed, running off. I followed. She had a point.
It was about midday when it happened. I had no idea they were there until it was too late. It should have been me. But Star got in the way. The gunshot pierced my ears like it did the night I abandoned my father. I should have asked Star more about healing herbs, but I was too late to save her. I was too late... I whimpered helplessly and licked her muzzle, she lifted her muzzle to mine.
Her green eyes met my red ones, "Run, Wire," she said faintly, but her eyes were flaming a beautiful green, even in her last moments.
I did run. But not away, not like Star had meant, not like the night my father died. I ran at the hunter and, before he had time to even reload his gun, I tore out his throat. I ran back to Star and nuzzled her, "I'll get help," I said, tears running down my face, "Star?"
She was gone.
The hunters were on my tail, shooting at me, missing most times, only once catching me in the leg and slowing me down. I was scared now. Soon, I was running out of space to run, and had come to a cliff edge. I looked back and saw the hunters closing in, taking aim. I was about to jump, but they got in there first, shooting me in the heart.
Oh well.
It was broken anyway.
I fell backwards, down, down into the blackness. At last, perhaps the hunters would be satisfied.
NO!" It yelled, lashing out at the professor, killing him in a brutal scuffle. The wolf proceeded to destroy the professor's house in an uncontrollable rage, before tearing down the door and disappearing into the night.
