Welcome!

You're sitting on top of a small stone wall, minding your own buisness on a normal day. Then, what can only be described as the sound of a distressed elephant trapped in a tin can is to be heard a bit to your left. You jump out of the way as a large blue box materialises before your eyes. The box is still for a few seconds. Then, the door bursts open and a red gelert hopps cheerfully out, "Hello!" he grins at you. You can only gawp. "Bye then," he smiles again and looks around. After what seems like a few minutes, the strange gelert decides to take off in an Easterly direction, towards a large grey building.
You finally find your voice, "Wait! Who are you? Where did you come from?"
The gelert stops, turns around and sits on the wall next to the blue box, "Well, seeing as I've not got anything else to do...I can tell you all about myself. If you'll believe me."
You nod slowly and sit on the wall next to him, "I'm guest." You say.
The gelert nods, "I'm the Doctor."

My Story

It was January 1st 1107 when a strange blue box casually popped into existance in the Wild Plains, a stretch of barren land between the Haunted Woods and Brightvale in Neopia. A door in the box opened and out stepped two strangers. One, a tall man with spiky brown hair and the other was a woman with silver hoop earrings and a red leather jacket. They did not know the danger of the place they had arrived. "So...when and where are we?" asked the woman, standing closer to the blue box with her arms folded.
1107 on a planet called Neopia," said the man, cheerfully.
And are those the natives?" she asked, nervously pointing to a group of canine-type creatures standing on a hill. They appeared to be enjoying a carcass of some sort. One looked up and bared it's teeth. "They don't look to friendly, do they?" the woman moved instinctivly towards the box.
The man moved a little closer towards the feeding pack. Only a red one was looking at them.
What are you doing? Wait...you haven't been here before have you? Doctor?"
The Doctor stopped and turned to face the woman, "No, Martha. Well...there's a first time for everything, isn't there?"
Doctor!" cried Martha in alarm, pointing to the red canine that was running down the hill towards them.
The Doctor whipped around to face the on-coming creature and whipped a silver-stick thing from his pocket. He poked something on it and pointed it at the creatures. The red one stopped in it's tracks and doubled over. The ones on the hill abandoned their carcass and fled, whimpering. "This frequency should see them off..." muttered the Doctor to Martha. Suddenly, the red thing leapt forward, and pinned the Doctor to the ground, biting him angrily. The silver stick flew out of his hand and rolled away. Martha gasped in alarm and ran forwards. The Doctor was very still. As she approached, the native (gelert) stepped off the Doctor, shaking it's head as if there was something on it. Martha cautiously knelt down by the Doctor, her medical knowledge kicking in, "Doctor?! Doctor, can you hear me?" she glanced nervously at the gelert. It had stopped shaking it's head and was looking at the Doctor with what can only be described as a look of sheer horror on it's furry face.
It suddenly looked at Martha, "You stay here, I'll go get some medical supplies using the TARDIS. What do you need?"
Martha gawped, "Um, well, anything you can get. Some bandages and something to clean his wounds would be good. Wait...are you sure you know how to use--" But the red gelert had jumped into the TARDIS and it dissapeared.

The TARDIS reappeared a few seconds later and the gelert hopped out, "There's all you need in there, how is he doing?" Martha noticed that she recognised his voice. The gelert sounded just like the Doctor.
The bleeding's slowed, but he's not conscious yet," said Martha, bringing out the supplies from the TARDIS and applying them to the Doctor, "But why the sudden change of heart? You were ripping him apart one second, then bringing bandages for him the next! And how did you know how to use the TARDIS?" so many questions tumbled off Martha's tongue at once. She was just so confused.
The gelert sat next to her, "Well, you see I have a genetic default that allows me to absorb other's DNA through simple things, like swallowing their blood. It was a common trait of my old species. They were primitive, but with your friend's DNA," he nodded to the Doctor, "I have a thinking mind."
Martha applied the last bandage to the Doctor and frowned as she took it all in, "So does that mean you're a Time Lord now?" she removed her jacket and laid it over the Doctor.
No, not yet," said the gelert, shaking his head, "My body has to go through a genetic re-write first."
Martha recalled when something similar had happened so the Doctor could become human in order to avoid hunters, "That hurts, though, doesn't it?"
Terribly," smiled the gelert before he started convulsing and screaming.

The gelert awoke in the warmth of the TARDIS. It must have gone okay. He placed a red paw gingerly on his chest. Two pulses. He stood up and looked around. Martha rushed over to him, "You shouldn't be walking around so soon!" she said.
Nah, I'll be fine," said the gelert. His eyes found the Doctor, who was sitting cross-legged with his left arm in a sling. He was smiling cheerfully.
How was it...um..." started the Doctor, although he didn't know the gelerts name.
Yeah, what did they call you?" asked Martha, sitting down as well.
The gelert puffed out his cheeks, "Nah, didn't have a name," he said after he'd thought about it.
What should we call you?" asked Martha.
Well...untill I get a proper name, I'd like to be called the Doctor as well," grinned the gelert.
Yeah, it has a certain ring to it, doesn't it?" said the Doctor.
Martha rolled her eyes, "As if one wasn't enough!" she said, cheekily.
Oi!" said the Doctor and the gelert in unison.
So...what are you going to do now?" Martha asked the gelert/Doctor.
You could come with us," said the Doctor.
Thanks...but no thanks. I know I can make my own way from here," said the gelert, stepping towards the door.
The Doctor and Martha walked him out of the door, "Keep in touch, yeah?" smiled Martha, hugging the gelert as they made their goodbyes.
Yeah," wagged the gelert, "I think I'll get a TARDIS of my own. A big blue box..."
Oi, do you have to nick everything of mine!?" joked the Doctor.
The gelert grinned, "As a matter-of-fact, yes," he started off away from the TARDIS, "Oh, and sorry about the whole biting you thing!" he called to the Doctor as he went.

So, I did get a TARDIS of my own. And a sonic-screwdriver too," says the Doctor, patting the blue box.
That sounds cool! So you can do time travel and stuff?" you ask in awe.
Yep. You should come with me sometime. But for now I've just remembered something I have to do..." the strange red gelert goes into the TARDIS and it fades away. The chances are you'll never see him again. Here's some more stuff about the Doctor, though....
