Do you know who you are? Where you are and how you got there?

I didn't.
I just 'was'.

Warm rays of light radiate on the peering faces. Through only a few feet of water can they see, however. The drop-off expands for miles deep. Nevertheless, the live-giving liquid is clear; shimmering with reflected sunlight.

Though the anxious eyes cannot see her, Mona can sharply see every pointing finger. Knowing she's concealed, she swims in ease to her den on the side of the under-water cliff.

She hadn't always had a home. When just a small pup, her parents were lost to her forever. Just barely surviving the immense challenges of the spanning ocean, Mona grew but little.

Compared in size to Mara gelerts, she is not quite half. Being forced to such an early independence she lacked the absorbtion of common and accepted behavior. Rather she was shunned, and learned, in mere and unviolent defense, to shun.

Thus she lives in the side of a relativly abandoned cliff. Some creatures do inhabit the surrounding area, but have assumed to keep their distance; not out fear, but awkwardness.

Due to her pre-mature entrance into the judgmental, unforgiving world, Mona's social abilities lack. Any confrontation usually results in the self-doubting and timid gelert quickly swimming elsewhere.

She has nothing to be ashamed of though. Despite her hardships, she established herself a home and sincerly enjoys her honest life of solitude.

Solitude was what she had grown to know, and was, therefore, what she was content with.

Loneness in such a vast ocean, however, wasn't meant to be. During one of her daily glides just above the ocean floor, Mona noticed a brillant-colored shell. Unable to retain her curiosity, she stopped to hover over the beautiful piece.

Before one moment passed, a tiny grackle bug appeared peeking from behind the glorious shell.

You startled me,' the orange-red creature said hesitantly.
