Ack, it's quite long! It was a warm summer day on Mystery Island, about 22ºC with a slight breeze, and a youngish black winged Kougra was taking a stroll with his owner. The owner was a girl, and she carried a satchel full of nice foods for a picnic she had been planning. A tiny, pink alkenore flittered happily around the duo's heads, finally coming to rest in the crease of the owner's satchel, and settling off to sleep. The alkenore was named Jellybean, and she was the beloved petpet of Chuchofierte, a Halloween Kougra with a habit of speaking French. Chucho in turn belonged to the owner, an adolescent girl nicknamed fidele. "Come on Chucho, we're nearly there", the girl urged, "don't start getting tired now!" As Chucho was not yet fully grown he got tired very easily. When he was older, his wings would be very powerful and he would be able to carry fidele on his back, but for now his wings were barely enough to support himself. And so he walked to get around. "D'accord, fidele!, I'm trying!" Chucho started into a trot, to show fidele that he was, indeed, trying. Fidele and Chucho passed many of their favourite places, the Tropical foods store, the tombola, and even Tiki Tours, before finally reaching their destination, a small island a little to the south of the Rock Pool. To get to the island they had to wade through a little water, so fidele picked Chucho up and carried him past the various pincers and claws of the island ocean. Arriving soon enough at their destination (luckily for fidele, Chucho was getting HEAVY!) Fidele and Chucho set up their picnic blanket at their usual spot underneath a gigantic neopalm tree shaped like a lenny, and next to a little winding stream. Placing Jellybean gently on a small pillow she had brought along, fidele began serving out the food she had brought. "Aw, lemme have some of that Tigersquash swirly cake!" Begged Chucho. "You'll eat savoury before sweet, my dear, and you'll like it! Anyway, I brought sausage and pepperoni omelette, your favourite!" "Yum! Ok then, and you better have not forgotten the apple Neocola!" "Of course not." As fidele and Chucho were enjoying their meal, and Jellybean was enjoying a rather large grape (could she REALLY eat the whole thing? It was so BIG!) a large, bird-like creature was flying through the skies, about two neo-kilometers away from the very spot where fidele and Chuchofierte were sitting. It was actually a rather large Uni, with a rather large parcel strapped to her back. Her name was unknown, as she liked to remain mysterious, but her purpose was clear: she delivers neo-eggs containing baby-neopets to the creation incubator, ready for them to be hatched once the right owner was found. The thing was, although it was SUCH a nice day where fidele and Chucho were, they were unaware thay they had narrowly missed a storm that was travelling over the west coast of Mystery Island. Unfortunately, the Uni hadn't. Although she tried her very best to keep her parcel secure, the turbulance around her proved to be her downfall. The parcel tumbled, and fell into the ocean. Luckily, the Uni was able to retrieve the parcel, as the eggs inside were not heavy and the parcel was able to float, although what the Uni did not realise was that the impact of the parcel with the ocean had caused the lid to flap open, and a solitary egg had popped out. Now, our main characters, Chucho and fidele, were totally unaware of this consequentious event happening at the very same time they were munching on omelette. After finishing their meal fidele decided she wanted to draw a few pictures and then maybe have a doze. Chucho said he would go exploring for a bit, to while the time away. Chucho then proceeded to pad down to the island's small but serene beach and started paddling about in the rockpools, looking for shells and pretty things that he could maybe give to his dear Paraitzu. After about 15 minutes of searching with no luck, a strange sight captured his eyes. A tiny blue creature, rather resembling a blumaroo with fins, was jumping in and out of the water making a high-pitched squeaking sound. This sight was strange partly because this type of creature was particularly timid, and didn't usually tend to venture out of the water, and also because Chucho had always been led to believe that fish were quiet things! After pondering what to do for some minutes, Chucho found that the blumaroo-creature had wriggled it's way to a place rather near him, and he also saw that it had pushed a small, spherical object onto the shore as well. After sniffing at the spherical object for a bit, Chucho decided it was probably harmless, and decided to take it back to show fidele. Picking it up in his mouth, he took one last look at the Blumaroo-creature and padded off back up the hill to where fidele was dozing. Not wanting to wake her, he placed the object near to her hand, so she would see it when she woke. He thought he would keep an eye on it just in case though. Chucho began getting sleepy; he would just rest his eyes for a second.... When Chucho woke up and saw fidele getting ready to leave, he realised his mistake, and looked frantically around for the object, only to see that it had fallen into the nearby stream, and was bobbing along down the current, about go over a rather large waterfall. Panicking, he got fidele's attention, and started running toward the object and calling out. "fidele! You've knocked it away! Quick, we have to get it before it goes over...nooooo!" fidele and chucho watched as the spherical object went tumbling over the waterfall, and into the danger below. "Don't worry chucho, what was it anyway? It looked sort of like an...egg" "It could've been, I don't know, oh, if it was we have to go see if it's alright" fidele and Chucho started climbing down the rocks next to the waterfall, and were startled to see the supposed egg had landed on an overhanging branch, but was about to be washed away by the waterfall's huge impact. If it fell now, it would be curtains for the little egg. Amazingly, as they watched, the egg began to crack, and a tiny blue head popped out, eyes closed, making a small mewing sound. So it WAS an egg! The head was followed by front paws, then a body, then back paws, then a tiny little tail, as the creature frantically wriggled it's way out. Suddenly, without any warning whatsoever, the branch broke, and sent the remains of the egg and the little creature tumbling to the murky depths. Was this the end of the creature? Chucho thought not. fidele screamed as he took a running jump and plunged after the creature, risking his own life. But suddenly...he was flying! He was flying strong and powerful and with style! Chucho raced after the creature, and managed to catch it by the tip of it's tail seconds before it's almost definite death. It was a miracle. Chucho then dived to the right, and landed back on the rocks. He was tired, and couldn't walk anymore, let alone fly, so he called out to fidele, who climbed down and picked him up, and carried him back to the top herself, along with the creature he held in his paws. Back at the top, Chucho woke to find himself wrapped in the picnic blanket, and fidele holding what seemed like a bundle of napkins. "What is it, fidele?" "It's a baby. A baby aisha. She's really weak, and I can't get her to eat anything, but she needs vitamins soon, or she might...not make it." Chucho was startled. He hadn't expected this to happen; he thought his daring rescue would have saved the aisha anyway. Chucho and fidele started their trek back home, with Jellybean asleep in fidele's satchel, and the baby aisha resting in fidele's arms. Chucho padded silently behind them, worrying for the baby's life. When they arrived home, fidele put the aisha on her kitchen table, and told Chucho to watch over her, while she got some blankets. While fidele was gone, Chucho tried to get a better look by resting his front paws on the table. Unfortunately, the unsteadiness of the table mixed with the vase of flowers on it didn't go to well. The flowers and water toppled over the baby aisha. "Chucho! No! What have you done!" Fidele ran toward the bundle, and picked her up while Chucho felt terribly bad and tried to apologise for his huge mistake. "You could've killed her! She's just been through the worst ordeal! And she's weak from not eat..." Fidele's accusation was cut short by a very loud munching sound coming from the wet bundle in her hands. The aisha was eating the flowers! "Oh! So that's what you want!" Chucho beamed. A few weeks later, the baby aisha, now named Kezhali, was a picture of health, and was also polishing off a lot of fidele's neogarden everyday. She wouldn't eat anything else but flowers! She also had a certain fondness for water, and enjoyed bath times immensely! "So, are we definitely gonna keep her now, fidele?" "Of course we are, Chucho, she's the best pet I could wish for as your sister." Kezhali beamed, and gobbled up a daisy.
