![]() About Faes There are two Faerie Courts, Light and Dark. They are formally known as Seelie and Unseelie Courts of the Sidhe. Typically, the Seelie Court represents idealistic chivalry, loyalty and structure. A Seelie Fae will never break an oath and believes that love conquers all. The Unseelie Court, on the other hand, believes in change, free Glamour and chaos. An Unseelie Fae tends to do whatever it pleases with it's own interests at heart, challenging the normal standards. Seelie is not necessarily good and Unseelie bad. Each individual only has inclinations which tend to be more one than the other. Each Court is broken down into three Elements: Air, Water and Wood are Seelie while Fire, Earth and Metal are Unseelie. The Elements influence the Fae's magical abilties and tendencies. It isn't unusual to see a slight overlap in Elements, such as an Earth Fae manipulating Wood with ease. There are few cases where there is one who has great influence over two Elements. Each Court governs during different seasons of the year, Oak (Spring/Summer) and Holly (Autumn/Winter). The Seelie Court rules from Beltaine to Samhain (the Spring and Summer months) and the Unseelie Court rules from Samhain to Beltaine (the Autumn and Winter months). Most Fae have a skill called Glamour. This skill allows the Fae to alter their appearance or the apperance of anything else they wish. This alteration, although an illusion, can be seen and felt as if it were a physical reality. Faerie Circles and Faerie Portals are not commonly noticed. You would have to know what you are looking for. Both will take you into the Faerie Realm, but once you enter, you cannot leave if you are not of Fae blood. Some common Circles are rings of mushrooms or other vegetation. Portals are harder to spot as they look like a trunk of a tree or a side of rock formations. Both are disguised by the Fae's Glamour magics and only they can show you the way. |

On the eve of Samhain, a stranger was wandering through the woods. Hearing voices, giggling and chiming, the stranger boldly left the path designated to follow. Further into the woods the stranger was led to a clearing. The silver moon shone steadily upon a perfectly grown circle of black mushrooms. Inside the circle sat a delicate Fae of draconic origin. Her small stature of one foot was not intimidating, but the toothy smirk she wore caused slight concern. Where are you heading to stranger? The dark creature spoke with mischief, her voice was smooth like a breeze. Her compound red eyes fixed on the stranger locked in mild concentration. Let me introduce myself; The title I often go is The Dream Weaver, the one who visits and grants dreams of hope and horror alike to my fellow kin. Like most faeries I will not tell you my true name. I don't want to be anyone's slave, thank you very much. What else should I divulge? I am an Unseelie Faerie Dragon as can be plainly seen. I am not evil, though a little mischief never hurt anyone. Come with me and I will tell you a little more about myself, and a story even . . .She stood in her circle and walked over to a large Elm tree. Facing it, she sang a few words in a strange tongue. The tree's trunk shivered as it molded into a type of wooden mirror. The stranger peered deeply into it's vast depth. ![]() About Me

And now you will listen and watch as I tell you about that Silver Traveler . . .The Traveler and Weaver The night was young as a shadowy wolf trekked across an open clearing. His whole life had been determined by his Mistress to wander about aimlessly. He lived his life like Hers; empty. The spider Fae watched him, her eyes intent on his semi-transparent form. "How strange . . ." the dragon whispered. He has some sort of Glamour, but he is not a Fae. How is this possible? Opening her delicate spider webbed wings, she flew down from her perch in the trees. Landing softly on the ground, the wolf stopped mid step and turned his head slowly, his vivid blue eyes astonishing her. Splashes of silver marked his ear and three of his paws, his face slightly lighter in color than the rest of his jet black appearance. Around his neck hung a pendent; a black globe with a crescent moon. He stared down at the small creature, ears perked forward. ![]() His eyes were solemn but it did not deter the Fae's inquisitiveness. "I am the Dream Weaver. What brings you out this way stranger?" she asked, her voice good-humored. The wolf watched and tilted his head in a passive manner, akin a shrug. "I go where ever the Moon shines, as I am Her Silver Traveler. I am ever at her beck and call." His voice was hollow, lacking emotion. Sounds like you need a little excitement in your life," the Fae pointed out in a playful manner. As she spoke, she moved unnoticed up toward him, a fine mist flowing from her mouth. "Sleep Silver Traveler and dream of things to revive your soul." The Slumbering Breath, or Sleeping Mist, affects were instant. The wolf felt great exhaustion, something his body had never felt before. Giving in to the intoxicating mist, the wolf lay down on the ground where he stood and fell into a deep sleep. The dragon grinned and summoned other Unseelie Fae creatures who frolicked through these woods with a delicate sounding song. The Fae lept from their hiding places and landed around the sleeping guest. The spider Fae spoke quickly and quietly. "I think our guest needs a little time away from his earthly duties." She watched, grinning, as the Fae folk worked to make a suitable form of transportation for the wolf. Once completed they moved him to a nearby Sycamore. Calling out in song, the Fae opened a purple glimmering portal that lead to the Faerie Realm. ![]() The Unseelie Court was alive and buzzing with activity. Few paid any attention to the guest and his seemingly captors. Once at the center of the room the Fae dragon spoke, "All of Unseelie kind, Mischief makers and Chaos bringers! Here me now, for I have found a guest who holds remarkable Glamour and is not of Fae blood! Let us see if he will share his power!" All Fae folk quieted and listened to the Dream Weaver speak. Standing over the slumbering creature, the spider Fae chanted in what must be a Fae tongue. Her deep red eyes began glowing white, a pure bright light, that enveloped herself and the Traveler. Upon entering his dream, she watched a few moments. There, next to the wolf was another, a female, one clad in flowers. She could hear the two talking quietly, happily. She began to feel guilty as she pieced together what she was seeing. No wonder he is sad . . . Shaking off her emotional attachment, she flew straight for the wolf. He looked up at her, surprised, then back at the female who had vanished. Landing beside him, she noticed the sadness in his eyes. "I am a bargaining creature wolf. And I want something you have and am willing to grant you something in return. This creature that you dream about, I can make it so that you can be with her. Always." That sounded very fair, she thought to herself. Though she did neglect to mention it would be in an unending dream state. He looked at her, his eyes flashing hope. "What is it that you want? I want your power of Transparency," she stated firmly, her normal good humor gone from her features. He shook his head slowly. "It is not mine to give. And even still you wouldn't want it. It isn't of free choice. Whatever stage my Mistress is in, I am. If She is in the New phase, I cannot be seen. Just as during her Full phase, I am complete." Looking down at the ground, he sat where he stood, once talking to an old love. "You do not want this curse. ![]() The Fae tilted her head in concentration. "Well I guess you are stuck here than. Once you wake, you will be forever trapped in the Unseelie Faerie Court," she said with surity. I wouldn't be so sure of that . . . " he said mysteriously, his face losing all traces of emotion. The wolf woke and just as the Fae had said, was trapped within the Realm of the Fae folk. That is, until the New Moon. Somehow, he escaped under the cover of dark. The Fae gave up looking for their lost prize. The spider Fae promised to find him again, if only to say that she did.
