Many islands of Neopia are yet to be discovered. One such island lives in the ocean off of the coast of Krawk Island, somewhere between the expanse of it and the hovering cloud of Faerieland. It's unique from any other island mostly because of its behavior; it drifts here and there, never staying in one place for very long and travelling with the currents of the sea. Crescent in shape, it creates a small, peaceful bay within its arms wherever it goes, providing a sanctuary to some rather rare fish who move with its drift. It's relatively small as well - one could travel from one tip to the other at a brish walk in only an hour or so, not that anybody would, since it's almost never visited.

How do we know about this elusive island, then? Who knows? Numerous ships - mostly pirates - pass it by chance and some are even lucky enough to stumble upon its bay and dock in it, even though, obviously, it would not be there if the crew should return with their ship another time. Someone has bound to have mentioned it to someone else, therefore passed on through various people.

Beyond the rather wide, sandy beach of the island's inner bay, a lush forest lives and grows until the wall of sheer rock that hides it from passersby going past its outer edge.

Besides the thriving plant life, a few animals live on the island, though one shouldn't expect to find any species of Neopets there - that, thought, excludes one.

A lone lupess makes her home in the solitude of the wood, only the trees and birds and squirrels for company. Even she doesn't know where her parents are, or even who they were. Washed onto the beach as a pup, she has never known, or at least remembered, another Neopet's company, so she does not wish for it. But she's intelligent enough to discern that there are other creatures besides her, and even other lupes, from the rowdy bands of pirates that sail by. When one ship is fortunate enough to happen upon the tranquil bay, fearfully she hides among the undergrowth and even foliage of the defending trees, only her soft green eyes shining from the shadows. The pirates never even know she's there, too intent on wishing for treasure or swimming in the bay. They always leave after long, though, leaving the lupess to quietly walk along the shore and clean up after them.

Every day, at sunset, the lupess pads slowly on the waterline, simply enjoying the sunkissed waters of the tropics lapping at her paws and the lowering sun making the bay sparkle like diamonds.

Being one who lives in a wood, she's as agile as a Kougra when it comes to climbing trees, and she can swim as deftly as a Koi and run as swift as a Gelert. Her fur is the color of pure caramel, her throat, chest, stomach, and the tip of her tail are as white as the fluffy cotton clouds that sail the sky almost every day above her.

To pass the day, she enjoys cloudgazing on the beach, creating things from twigs and leaves, and frisking about with the birds. She has a special gift of speaking with birds, and they always tell her stories of far away lands, such as Terror Mountain and the Haunted Woods. One can often find her in a patch of sunlight with twittering birds all around her, and her ears pricked and emerald eyes twinkling. At night, she sleeps with only a blanket of stars sheltering her and the breeze singing her lullabies.

Berries and other fruit growing on the island is her main source of food, with an occasional coconut or two. She never eats meat, considering it an insult to her countless animal friends.

If, by chance, you ever meet her if you stumble upon her island, you can consider yourself one of the luckiest people in Neopia!
