Just stopping by: april 11, 2009
Hey Neopia! Just stopping by to say I haven't died or anything. I was looking through a few of my old photobucket accounts that I had used to host the site and it made me pretty sad. I saw some old layouts, link buttons, and content galore both used and unused. It made me think back to what sites on Neopets used to look like, back when londdon's CSS was all the rage (if you're reading this, hey Sydney!), you could get away with 5,000 hits using only Microsoft Paint and when nobody knew how to code the new NeoLayout. I remember a time when NeoPets was small, stealing was rare, and all the site owners got along. Now I remember why I left, because sites in competition created drama, and unneeded stress in my life.
So what do I do now? I spend my time with my wonderful boyfriend of two months who loves me more than anything, my two best friends Courtney and Catherine, in addition to several others (another shout out goes to Kristin and Stephanie!), and am pretty much practicing non-stop for my audition for the All-State band, since I've gotten principal chair in for two years running in the All-County ensemble. If any of you guys remember the site at all, send me a neomail. I'd love to talk to past fans of the site, just as always. I'd really appreciate knowing someone actually remembers the site. IMPORTANT UPDATE: NOVEMBER 8, 2008
Dear Neopia,
It has come to my attention that some sites are still using my CSS. I really don't mind this, bit I do request, no matter how much you've edited it, if you could please put some credit up on your page.
I don't think anyone could understand how I feel about my work being exploited in such a way until they've sat in this feeble excuse for a folding chair and type every letter of that CSS out on their own. Now I do understand the codes have been circulated a bit since I closed my site, but do remember I still have my coding tucked away on my little friend Mr. Notepad, and on a few of my testing accounts.
Please, if I neomail you, don't try and bite my head off. I'm not accusing any users on the site of anything just yet. I'd just like to know how this all started.
