by sarika_ambrielle How well do you know your account? I can honestly say I know my accounts inside and out. In the event your account is taken by TNT you better hope you can say the same if you're planning on getting your account back. There is a form that you will be required to fill out that most people don't even know exists. I suggest you take some time to gather all this information together so it will be instantly handy to you, just in case. You don't really need it all but the more you have the easier it would be. Let's take an indepth look at this form shall we. 1. Username of the account (must be EXACT): Well this one is quite obvious and if you can't answer it you should simply say good bye to the account and go look at the comics instead. 2. E-mail address (Make sure the address you enter is correct so that you can receive our reply): Again this one should be obvious, they want the e-mail you have registered for the account so let's hope you kept it up to date and you will be able to access it. 3. What happened/Why should you get your account back? You only have 300 characters to tell you story in so make them count. Include as much pertinent information as you can without sounding whinny or repeating yourself. Well that was pretty easy wasn't it, NOW we get into the tough stuff --- Account Verification. Account Verification will be used to verify that this is your account. You'll need to provide information that only the person who created the account would know and it must be accurate. 4. Who are your Neofriends? Most of us could instantly list most of our closest neofriends but how about those casual acquaintances who you don't correspond with on a regular basis, you need to also list them. You should also know who is a VIP. 5. Past Trades/Auctions (what items were traded, and who did you trade with): Once a trade or auction has gone through most people couldn't tell you the details about it so you need to get the details before it goes through. You will need to note the Lot Number of the auction or trade as well as the other person's username. On a trade you will also need to note what the items/NP's were that were traded. 6. Birthdate: This seems like it should be obvious but a lot of online people do not use their real birthdate so if you used a fake note your bogus birthday. 7. Email Addresses (any addresses used on the account previously): If you change or have changed your Email address write them all down. 8. Neomails in your inbox (who were they from and what they said): You probably should copy and paste each neo-mail you plan on saving, I simply deal with my neomails and delete most so I have less to remember. You only have 300 character in which to put this information so let's hope you don't have any long neo-mails saved. 9. Stocks you currently own: I personally couldn't tell you which stock I bought this morning let along what others I own. You have 300 characters to list all your stocks and while this seems like plenty of room, out of curiosity I copy and pasted mine and had a mere 31 characters left. Guess I better just watch what I buy for the next couple days. 10. Items in your inventory or Safety Deposit Box. This is the funniest part of the form. We work hard to get the Pack Rat avatar but we are only allowed 300 characters to list everything we have stuffed into our Safety Deposit Box ... and remember it's supposed to be accurate. I tested mine by copy and pasting my categories summaries but only managed to fit 7 categories out of 26 categories. I DO have the information on my notepad but I'm unsure how I would send it, certainly not in this area. 11. Items equipped on any of your pets: Plenty of space here and a good opportunity to take advantage of. Equip every one of your pets with something, even if it is a cheap wet snowball. 12. Pets you created (Not adopted. Give their exact names.): Well I personally have only ever created two pets on this account so that was easy. If you create pets regularily you should write all their names down, don't worry about color or species as that can change. On my spare I went searching and found 30 pets I had created still out there, all still beautifully colored. 13. If you've ever disowned any pets, what were their names? While I have only created two pets on my main account, I have adopted probably well over 50 to zap nice and pretty and disown. These names might be special to someone else but not to me so it's a good thing I noted most of the names down. 14. If you've ever been warned, what were the warnings for? This one is the easiest question, I mean who doesn't remember if they have seen that scary red exclamation point icon appear attached to that alarming neomail from TNT. *twitches* You need to now what that warning said you did, whether you did it or not. 15. If you've ever redeemed any Rare Item Codes, what did you get for them? My beautiful Space Faerie avatar is the result of the one code I redeemed, I gained the Space Faerie as a battledome challenger and consequently beat her. I would imagine if you don't write down what you received when you recieve it, you'll never remember later. 16. Any further information you think would help us verify your ownership of the account. You have a measly 500 character to use on your own to prove to them that it's your account, use them well. In this area you may want to include books your pet has read or at least how many they have read, the avatars or stamps you have collected, the most recent jobs your pets have done, any unpriced items sitting in your shop, your petpet levels, your pets faerie abilities or even the dates of contests you won such as Beauty Contest, Art Gallery, Poetry, Random. I'm sure you could think of a tons of information to put here but remember 500 characters doesn't go far so make it count. That's it the whole form broken down into detail. It will take you time to get the information together (took me a couple hours) but once complete, it's extremelly easy to keep accurate and up to date. You should have this information available on each and every one of your accounts as a form would be required for each individual account. Lastly I highly recommend everyone take advantage of their PIN number's so people can't change your account around, this option can be found here PIN Number Preferences To see the form yourself it can be found here ... Automatic Submission Form - Frozen Accounts This was submitted to The Neopian Times and received the following response. Your Neopian Times submission (Who Knew) was rejected because discussion of scamming or frozen accounts is not something that we want in articles. Yours Sincerely, The Neopets Team Want to link me?
