Oaktail padded alongside his Lupe sister with purpose. They were headed for the Secret Laboratory. Normally, Misty would be the one to be zapped, but Oaktail had a different plan. He had found a note on his desk that morning. All it had said was '7am Secret Lab'. The note had come without a signature, but it had had a small, golden seal holding it closed. The seal was one familiar to pets around Neopia. It had been Fyora's seal. The white Kougra was confused, though. What did the Faerie Queen want with him and why did he have to go to the lab? He told Misty about the note and she had decided to come along with him to the Lab, suggesting that maybe he use the ray today. He had agreed. Perhaps something would happen if he used the ray? He sighed, it wasn't worth worrying over. He and Misty were almost to the Laboratoy, anyway. The green Lupe beside him paused, "You sure you want to use the ray?" She asked. Oaktail grinned, "Yeah. No way am I backing down," he replied. Misty rolled her deep grey eyes, "Okay, whatever. Just keep in mind, if anything bad happens, it wasn't my idea." Oaktail shrugged and raced off to the large building on the hill up ahead. *** Oaktail looked around the large room curiously. This building was incredibly large. He prowled a few paces towards the large ray in the center of it all. It was massive, about as tall as his neohome. He stood on the tips of his paws to see an insane looking Scorchio sitting behind the ray. Are you here to try out the ray?" It asked, eyeing Oaktail suspiciously. Oaktail stared at him with wide brown eyes before realizing he had been spoken to. Oh, er, yes," he answered, trotting under the end of the ray. He had seen Misty zapped dozens of times, so he knew it didn't hurt. Alright, hold still," the Scorchio muttered, setting a few dials on the control panel of the ray before pressing a large button. Oaktail heard a fizzing sound and the room was suddenly filled with a bright light. He was startled for a moment, but chuckled at his own reaction. Of course, the ray gave off light. But, when the light didn't go away, he began to worry. Misty?" He called. No answer. Oh, yay. The Kougra hopped forwards a few paces and called for his sister again. Still no reply. He turned around when he heard another voice though. There was a Faerie with him. She was dressed in purple and wore a silver tiara on her head. Oaktail blinked, baffled, "Fyora?" He hissed. The Faerie Queen smiled at him, "Oaktail, thank you for coming. You must be wondering why you're here," the Kougra bobbed his head in affirmative, "Well, I have too many duties and have been looking for a pet worthy of taking care of one of my normal jobs. I've been looking for a long time, but I was allowed to stop once I found you. Oaktail, I think you possess the loyalty and power of heart to take on a special task." The Faerie paused, shuffling through a deep purple pack that hung by her hip. From it, she pulled a golden watch. I need you to take on the title of Guardian of Time," she said. Fyora allowed it to sink in for a few moments. Would Oaktail be surprised, scared, happy? The Kougra was staring at her like she had three heads, "Err...what exactly is that? Fyora sighed, "Because of all of the Faeries in Neopia, there is a slight unbalance of power. Sometimes, this unbalance causes a small blip in time," seeing Oaktail was still confused, she continued, "For example. You could be browsing Neopia Central one day and run into a Tatsu," she explained. Oaktail now understood, "Ah. So...I'd fix that how, exactly? Fyora smiled, "So, you accept? Yeah, but h-" Oaktail's sentance was broken off as the light faded. All the sounds from the lab were returning, the fizzing, the odd noise of the ray's electricity source. He shook his head and looked down. His fur was a light spotted color now. Nice. Around his neck, was the golden watch. He yawned, he was still confused about everything, but he guessed he'd figure it out. Oaktail heard the sound of someone walking towards him and turned to see a jealous Misty. Spotted, lucky. Lets get home, then," she muttered, stalking off to the lab exit. Oaktail grinned and trotted after her, "Yeah, I am pretty lucky." .:Family:.  ~Misty~ Along with me, Misty is one of Forest's original four former Kougras. Though I hate to admit it, she's pretty awesome. Even though I don't need it, she protects me and the rest of the family and makes sure I don't let people take advantage of me. She's more of an introvert and kinda quiet, but she's fun to hang out once she's more open ^-^  ~Verdeuna~ Ah, Verdeuna. I sort of feel bad for the poor guy. Every day, he's taken to the Secret Lab. He can turn into anything, but he's still cheerful around the house...somehow. I don't know what his trick is to being annoyingly happy T_T Anywho, Verde's cool and it's nice to laugh at him when he turns into a girl! XD  ~Phinckao~ Phinckao's Forest's newest pet. The second I brought him home, she instantly spoiled him. He's INCREDIBLY new to the family, so he's still settling in. I'm helping him learn things about Neopia and our family. He learns fast and is incredibly considerate of others. Phin's a cool guy, all in all. =3  ~Totkatze~ Okay, I have no idea why Misty had Tasu bones in her room, but I worked some time magic on them. So Totkatze was brought back from the grave, hence his name. He was happy for awhile, but then it seemed he wanted something more. Forest suggested I paint him...so I did ^_^ I painted him a nice ghostly color. Totkatze is my partner in crime and has become even more mischeivous since recieving his new color. He seems to enjoy walking through walls to scare guests and likes to scare Misty in the middle of the night. Hey! Forest here to tell you a few last things about Oaktail. ^_^ Oakie- Don't call me that... I'll call you whatever I want to. Anyways, Oakie was my first pet on this account. I originally had him painted white and he was my first Warriors character in my guild. I roleplay with him as a Warrior cat, but I haven't gotten to roleplay him much as a Neopet. What if guest doesn't care about my roleplaying info? ...Well...Oaktail was being trained for a bit, but I started training another one of my pets on my other main account- Stupid Devi, stealing my training. -_- You should be glad I'm at least training somebody. Anywho, now I just read Oaktail books to get his intelligence up because he's my smartie =3 ^_^ Yes I am. Right. Oaktail's battledome requests are CLOSED, but feel free to become his friend or roleplay. ^_^ I guess that this is just about it...Yup. *wave* Thanks for reading.
