After my transformation, I can no longer walk. I am lighter than the air now. Small lightnings fly around the tip of my paws. My ears are long and my mouth is small, for I no longer need to eat. And I glow. I no longer speak except by using the sounds of thunders.

Chapter 1. The end Young. But weak. That's how I feel. I feel like I've used all my energy at once. And now it's all gone. What can I do, but to use it all until it vanishes? The air is weird. It's night. Dark. Because enormous clouds cover the stars and the moon. Yet, they seem to glow sometimes. Around you, tall grass dances with the soft breeze. A lonely tree faces the dangers of the savanna. The red body walks through the grass, weak, almost as if it couldn't support itself. It's better this way..., a young voice says. I prefer to be gone now than seeing myself too old. You see a large wound on the rear of the animal. It bleeds. In the night, you can't see the blood, which is almost the same colour than the pelt. But you can smell it. I was reckless. I deserved it. Should have been alert. I wouldn't have been attacked by that animal... Whichever it was... You wonder if there's something you can do. But something stops you to approach the Ogrin. Instead, an invisible force makes you step back slowly. Anyway... If it wasn't for the pain, I couldn't complain. I did all I wanted to do. Never had a family of my own, though... Maybe I should have... The body falls over the grass, softly. You now want to approach, but you can't. It's as if you heart commands you to do one thing, but the brain won't let the body do it. You know it's the end. You want to help. But it's helpless. He's doomed to death. Still, you don't want to leave. So you stay. You simply stay, watching him die. And as the wind blows, as the clouds approach with blue lightnings flying, as the light illuminates the plane, as if showing the decaying body, you see the last breaths, until it stops. And the thunders bursting in the sky upon you make you shiver, and make the dead body shiver, and you feel the need to look at him. To look at the end.
Chapter 2. Transformation There's no rain. It's a dry storm. You think you shouldn't be out in the plane. Hide under a tree, maybe. No... that's what they tell you not to do... As you reflect on what to do, lightnings strike the ground. They glow blue, and as they disappear, red light bursts from where they landed. Fire. The sound is almost unbearable. The ground shakes with the thunders. The body is dead already. Is it? A last breath... With the last beat of heart, the transformation. You don't know why you were looking at it. Maybe it was instinct. You wouldn't want it to happen. The blue lightning descended from the sky and landed on the body. Didn't miss it by an inch. It hit it with such a precision that the grass around it didn't catch on fire. But the body... it was a differente story. It was pitch black. But it was also glowing, or was it just an effect of the lightnings around?... Light had landed on death and chased it away. Sort of. Amazingly, the torched body rose from the ground. It was in fact glowing. The stripes, that had once been black, were now glowing with a strong blinding blue. The mane, the mohawk, glowing intensively. An invisible force seemed to be lifting the body, for it seemed lifeless. An eye opened. Blue, glowing like the body. It was alive. It was flying. It struggled to land, looked around, confused, lost, flying, dead and alive, or only dead or only alive?! The paws... there were lightnings flying around it... The thunderstom was pulling him. Far from the ground, far, far from everything. No more food. No more pain. No more earth, no more ground. No more... joy? Faith would decide that. |
