What is Korbats Lab? It is what happens when you combine a game of ping pong with a game of pool-billiards. The object is to use your paddle and hit the yellow ball to remove the brown blocks. Simple? not really. This game requires practice and PATIENCE!
To obtain the avatar you must be in the top 50 of the high score table for the game.
When the game starts or at any time during play type the word spiderbite to gain an extra life.
#1 Flying Korbats and dangling spiders. On different levels you will notice one or more spiders or Korbats that appear to get in your way to interfere with your ball. Most times they can be a hinderance BUT sometimes they will actually help you because they can knock your ball into a location otherwise difficult to reach.
#2 Each level has different configurations of blocks. The stone type you can not get through and the brown blocks you must remove. The brown blocks have numbers and symbols on them. The numbers tell you how many times you must hit the block for it to be removed. The grenade symbol means that when that block is hit it will take out other blocks in its vicinity. The flame symbol, when hit, Removes all brown blocks below it. DO NOT be afraid of the falling flame it does not do any harm at all, BUT after level 4 you must knock out all flames blocks before your last regular block or you will get locked into that level.
#3 Potions and bags of np's. Potions, or bags of np's may drop from various blocks after they have been hit. First, no of these are worth losing a life for. If you can not get it easily just skip it. The only exception to this is a falling skeleton head. Even if you lose a life avoid this as it is GAME OVER!
The small bag of np's gives you a 50 point bonus.
The large bag is 500.
Purple potion with blue top: Makes your paddle bigger. Good.
Red potion. Turns your ball red and it will break through all bricks including stone. Usually good but on some levels you may need the stone bricks to bounce to hard to reach areas.
Blue potion with dark blue top. Makes your paddle go faster. Not really good unless you can control it.
Blue potion with light blue top. Makes your paddle go slower. Not good.
Black potion with green top. Shoots out a rocket that you control like the paddle. It can knock out one brick. Sometimes helpful but hard to control.
Yellow-gold potion. Reverses your paddle controls. Really bad.
Pink potion with light pink top. Makes your paddle really small.
Pink potion with light blue top. Returns your paddle to normal.
Black potion with dark red top. Restarts your level. Can be good for extra points but depends on how hard the level is, you decide. Update: I found that after the restart I only had to hit a few of the brown blocks and was jumped to the next level. The number of blocks required varies from level to level.
Blue/white FLASHING potion. Removes the korbats or spider. Usually good but not always depending on the level.
Solid white potion. Causes all flames to fall. Great on higher levels. Thank you rosebud2554.
Red-gold potion. Explodes all grenades.
#4 Little "glitches". Sometimes your ball will get stuck going vertically up and down on the left side. Sometimes holding both left and right arrow keys together will knock it out. Sometimes stay just a bit of the left side and knocking the paddle in quickly will make it bounce out. Othertimes I have had the ball get stuck in various blocks. Sometimes it will eventually come out by itself or if there are Korbats in the level they might knock it out. Other times I have just given up and quit the game. If you have any ideas I would appreciate them.
LEVEL 1. No real difficulty here.
LEVEL 2. You are now dealing with Korbats that seem to have a magnetic attraction to your ball. This is a good practice round.
LEVEL 3. You must hit the ball on top of the figure to knock the flame out. You can get inside this way or by angling your ball to the side blocks.
LEVEL 4. The top grenade block presents difficulty in getting the correct angle.
LEVEL 5. This frustrates me the most. You must hit the ball on top of the flame block to knock out the grenade block. The spider can get in the way of this, usually when you just about have the flame hit. If you start with the paddle on the far left it should angle right to the top of the flame.
LEVEL 6. Easy, just watch out for the Korbats.
LEVEL 7. Again you must get on top to knock out the flames. The side blocks can also pose a problem for getting the right angle with the ball.
LEVEL 8. Just easy.
LEVEL 9. Now for the fun. Getting to the second level of these blocks can be very difficult and the Korbats can frequently knock you back out. Even withthis in mind I have found that the red ball or removal of the Korbats does not always help because the Korbats and stone blocks can help you bounce around in the correct area.
LEVEL 10. No real difficulty.
LEVEL 11. Again no real difficulty but now you have two spiders.
LEVEL 12. Sometimes a bit tricky to get to the upper right quadrant but no major obstacles.
LEVEL 13. On this level you must bounce correctly to get to the upper blocks.
LEVEL 14. The difficulty is getting inside the stone frame.
LEVEL 15. Easy but you have two spiders again.
LEVEL 16. Most of the lower blocks will turn to stone after you hit them but you can get through on the left side. REMEMBER to get the flames. I reached this level with all my lives and an hour and a half into playing and got locked into this level so it was game over!
LEVEL 17. Not a bad level.
If this is what you see for level 21 you did not break all the fire blocks before the number blocks and it is your last level. When I beat this I will post what it is supposed to look like. LOL
