Have you ever wondered what does "seeing the world in pink" means?
Well, I did.
This morning I was playing with Aimee near the Healing Springs when a baby Gelert came to talk to me, he was already watching us play for quite a while. He asked me if I see the world in pink.
I started giggling. He was looking at me very puzzled; he was serious about the question. So I smiled and said "No, I don't. "
He was staring at my eyes for a little longer and then he gave me a shy smile. He said "Thanks!" and went away.
We played for a little longer, and then started to make our way home. It was such a beautiful day! Bright sun, nice weather, everything was perfect! Just like any other day.
I couldn't help but notice a group of baby pets playing together. They looked so happy. You could hear playful giggles and see innocent smiles. They were playing like there was no sadness and worries in the world. Not very far there was an old Kougra sitting on a bench and a young Kougra next to him. He was reading a book and the young seemed very interested in the story.
There were pets of every color and specie bringing their loved petpets to the Petpet Puddle to get them painted, just because their love was so great they'd do anything to make their small friends happy. The huge smile on their tiny faces... That can make you forget the amount of Neopoints spent on the Paint Brush. That is just priceless.
People were running around at the Neopia Market, looking at every store for grooming items, codestones, plushies, chocolate, books and more. Everything to make their pets looks beautiful, strong, happy and smart. At the Kadoatery, many kind people were sharing their time with those lonely Kadoaties, spending their Neopoints to feed those hungry petpets.
There were pets being adopted and taken to a new home, where they could feel loved, safe and be happy.
Pets posing for their owners to draw or paint a beautiful picture of them, so they could get into the Beauty Contest and win a shiny trophy!
Neopia is such a wonderful place!
As soon as I got home I went to my sister's bedroom. I was so excited about my day, as usual, so I started telling her what happened. She was lying on the floor with Fanaani, looking pretty depressed, just like everyday, as if the world was always grey, cold and rainy. So I thought I could cheer her up a little bit by telling her about the wonderful day that was today.
But I was wrong.
She was just giving me so many reasons for that. She said baby pets will grow up one day, and that day they will find out that the world is not giggles and smiles. Many pets only paint their petpets to show off, and many abandon them after getting a more expensive one. People only feed Kadoaties to get the avatar; they don't care about the Petpets. And many of those pets will be thrown back into the Pound, because their purpose was only to get new avatars. She said there was no reason to be happy.
I really love Nishie. But I don't understand why she's always so sad. The world is a happy place. I wish she could see it the way I do. And that's when I realized that I lied to that baby Gelert.
Yes, I do see the world in pink.
