This is my story. On the day I was born, a helicopter came and took me away. I don't know why, but they did. They took me away, but since I didn't like it, I resisted. I ran away. As I fell after having jumped out the helicopter, I realized what trouble I had gotten myself into.
I landed in a freshwater river. Quickly climbing ashore, I found my self in a clearing surrounded by a humongous cliff. There were three trees, one with large vines on it. There was also something like a berry patch. Now, I had never had a berry before, just the mushy tan stuff like oatmeal that I had been fed by my mother.
I awoke the next morning to fin a pack of three gelerts surrounding me. They growled and snarled, their sharp teeth ready to rip me open. One charged. I jumped over it, landing with thunk on its head. The gelert ran into the river and swam away. The others watched, but did not follow. I grabbed a stick, but one grabbed it and threw it into the water. I rolled under it, and pulled its tail, causing the second gelert to run, yelping, into the water. The biggest one stood in front of me. I jumped at it, pushing it into the tree behind it. It followed the second one into the water.
So I fell asleep, and woke up three days later. It was the perfect time for harvest (I knew because all the older Jubjubs went to harvest at this time of year).
So I picked and tried all the food. I had a spoogentberry, chocberry, thornberry, tangleberry, sniddberry, and more. I traveled along the patch. At the very end was something odd. It looked as if the food was underground. So I dug. Believe it or not, it was a carrot.
I ate that carrot, and at once I knew I was in love. I ate about half the carrots, then decided I was thirsty. When I went over to river to get some water, I saw in my reflection that I had no toes. It was true. There were no toes on my feet. I quickly forgot, though, and went back to eating carrots. Although my body got plumper, my feet got thinner. After eating exactly 143 carrots, I noticed that my feet had sprouts at the end! My feet had turned into CARROTS!!
I didn't eat anything else in that place under the cliff for a month. I was skinnier than a stick, but I was happy. I had gotten over carrot feet. And, over the past month, I had also scared a hungry mutant lupe that had nearly eaten me away, gotten the vines down from the tree, and made a rope ladder from them. I could climb up the cliff! I decided to bring some berries with me in a basket made of vines.
Climbing over the edge of the cliff, I found myself in a plain, about 500 miles across. That was where my owner, ptery_girl, found
me. I still have carrot for feet, but have vowed never to eat one again.
