- Today's Pet Spotlight -

Pet Name: Sanjisuki
Owner: sanjisangel
Breed: Zafara

About Sanjisuki:

All right! This is my favorite pet in all of Neopia - Sanjisuki, my yellow zafara!

Sanjisuki: She really does carry on a lot, doesn't she?

Perhaps I shouldn't say "my" Neopet. We sort of own each other, you see? I'm sort of a zafara too, "sanjisangel" being the nickname he gave to me when I rescued him...

Sanji: Why don't you let me tell the story, angel?

Ah. Yes. Go right ahead...

*Sanji bows before everyone and smiles handsomely, his blonde fur shining as if he'd washed it about 10 times with Super Shiny Shampoo (which apparently, he did. He wants to get this Pet Spotlight Award very badly.)*

Hello, everyone! You already know my name, but you don't know that I'm a chef. Neopia's best, and that's not a lie.

*mutters as he hears someone mention the Maraquan Chef*

That flotsam's got nothing on me.

Eh? How did I end up where I am today? Let's see. I was a pirate, living on Krawk Island and working at the Golden Dubloon. That's a harsh environment, I can vouch for that!

One day, a big, fat meerca came in - he had a food bib tied around his neck and was very messy -- and had the nerve to insult my cooking! And what's worse - he didn't finish the food on his plate. Some poor Neopets have to subsist on Gross Food or an endless supply of omelettes, and he turned down fresh sushi, shrimp and...augh! The nerve!

I got angry.

I kick when I'm angry.

*sighs*

So maybe I shouldn't have dumped him off the pier into the water, but he annoyed me. The other cooks at the Dubloon didn't like me very much anyway, and they used this as an excuse to gang up on me. I put up a good fight, but was outnumbered at last, thrown into the water unconscious and pretty much torn up.

I didn't float over to the Healing Springs, but someplace even better.
The next thing I knew, I was looking up into the eyes of an angel.
No really! A Christmas Zafara. You know what they look like, right?
Laying on my back on a beach, washed up with a beautiful zafara taking care of me. That was Sukiyanen - I call her my angel because she rescued me...and, of course, she's um. Painted to look like one.
I told you I'd landed someplace better than the Healing Springs. I'd actually ended up on Mystery Island in a gorgeous little cove. Suki took me in, and she cared for me until I could move around on my own. Out of gratitude - well, maybe a little more than that -- I told her I'd stay and cook meals for her family, a ragtag bunch of good-natured (if odd) Neopets.

I just couldn't leave!

Once I got to know them, those weird Neopets became my family too. And I decided to stay for good the day my angel gave me a special present -a petpet of my very own. It was a Spardel! I named the little freakish thing "Rufi". He isn't good for anything like gaurding our Neohome or anything, as he tends to bark at shadows a lot, but he has a good heart.

A good heart. Just like the rest of my new family. I finally found my place in Neopia! And it's on Mysery Island with my friends, cooking for them and making sure they eat properly...instead of all the gross food and omelette feasting they'd been doing before I arrived.
