Owner: ladyariel32
Breed: Chia
About Chistomise:
* A rather pudgy aubergine chia arrives, walking on his short, fat purple legs. *
Hello there, fellow Neopian! My name is Chistomise and as you can see, I am an aubergine chia. My owner,
Belle (ladyariel32), adopted me from the pound last 10th Day Of Eating. Originally, I was a yellow chia but
Belle took me to the Secret Laboratory and this weird-looking scorchio zapped me with a thingamajig turning
me aubergine (although I was frightened when I saw myself looking very much like…like…well, a…purple vegetable
thingy). My two brothers and one sister accepted me into the family quickly. I felt right at home in our cozy
neohome.
Ok, so first, you're probably thinking to yourself, "What a peculiar name." You're right, it is. I, myself,
don't really know how to pronounce it. I wonder what my original owner was thinking when he or she named me
Chistomise (if you happen to be my previous owner, don't be afraid to drop a neomail). Anyway, Belle decided
to give me a nickname that was much, much easier to pronounce: Chi, which means 'soul' or 'life-force'. I liked
it immediately. It's a short and meaningful name. That's why it's so great.
Now, most Neopians think that fruity chias are so cute and in a way, we are. But like any other thing that seems
to be a good thing at first glance, being a fruity chia has its faults. All you other fruity chias out there, I
know exactly how you feel. I'm going through what you're experiencing, too.
Take a good look at my picture above. I have a tuft of healthy, green leaves on top of my head. My purple face
is one with my purple body. My feet are small, oval, and overly pudgy. My skin is that of a fruit: smooth, shiny,
and edible (perhaps). Although I am smiling in that photo, inside I am writhing in pain. Notice how my left foot
is slightly higher than the other. My sideways position is very awkward. After Belle took the picture, I felt
like my jaws were going to be frozen into a smile forever. Whew, that's one pose I won't ever make again for the
rest of my life.
Getting back to the point, imagine what one might feel if he or she was a fruit. It is actually quite
uncomfortable. Walking across the street is tremendously dangerous. A lot of things can happen, believe me.
Here, I will tell you about one such experience. Maybe, then, you'll understand.
Okay, so one day, I woke up late in the morning, almost noon. I looked around for Belle and my brothers and
sister but I couldn't find them anywhere. Finally, I saw a note lying on the kitchen table as I was eating
breakfast.
We're waiting for you at the park. You looked so peaceful sleeping that we didn't want to wake you up. Get
yourself out here as soon as possible.
-Belle, Yannagiba, Ashi, and Yuki
I hurriedly gulped down the rest of my breakfast and rushed out of the neohome in a matter of seconds. We had
been planning a picnic for the last few days. I didn't want to miss it. I was trying to run across the street
but oh, it was too hard to run on my pudgy little legs. Each little step moved me about an inch or so nearer
to my destination.
A blue kau happened to strut by and he stared at my head hungrily. I wondered what was so interesting about
my head. The kau galloped towards me and I was suddenly icy with fear. He opened his mouth and took a huge
chunk of leaves away from head.
"Ouch!" I screamed. My head really hurt. "Why, you!" I waved a paw at the offender who was busy chewing on the
leaves. Maybe, he thought it was grass. But then, a kau wouldn't be interested in grass, would it? Maybe, he
was super hungry.
I continued strolling down the street (if you could call it that). I have a feeling you know what came next.
Of course, a white lupe walked by. I'm sure you're tired of hearing about the dispute between lupes and chias.
It's like, way prehistoric. All I'm getting at is, that lupe was out for my blood. I'm sure I looked pretty
scrumptious, being an aubergine chia. As you can see, though, I'm still alive. His owner arrived the minute he
was about to charge at me and probably gobble me up alive. Saved!
By then, I was already nearing the end of the street (at last!). But before I could go around the corner and
reach the park, two giggly little girls arrived bringing with them a pink kacheek and a faerie gelert. They
took one look at me and then the screeching began.
"Oh, look!" first giggly girl exclaimed. "What a BE-YOU-TI-FUL aubergine chia." She reached for my green leafy
hair.
"SO CUTE!" second giggly girl wailed. Then, she touched my fruity covering.
The kacheek and gelert joined in the fun, too. For ten minutes, I stood there uneasily as the quartet
chirped, gaped, and cheerfully harassed me. I made my escape when they were discussing which fruity chia
was the best.
I was endlessly grateful when I finally arrived at the park and found my family sitting on a striped picnic
blanket, waiting patiently.
"What took you so long?" Belle greeted me with a smile...
See what I mean? Life is always a trial when you are a fruity chia but still, it's pretty cool to be one.
After all, you get lots of attention. It's worth it! :)
* He grins from ear to ear (oh wait, where are his ears?) before painfully staggering away. *
