Contest:
Slinging Some Slushies

Wheeee!!!

The Altador Cup is coming so we thought we would give you a challenge that will help get you in shape! Your challenge for the next couple of weeks is to create a neopian slushie. The slushie should be an existing flavour on the site, and it should be edible. You can use whatever you want to create it, however your creation should be made by you. When you submit your entry tell us which slushie you made, and the recipe for your slushie in the description. The picture you submit should show the slushie and some ingredients. We will judge your entries on creativity, yumminess, and imagination.

First Place

Ten winners receive the Random Contest avatar, 15,000 NP and an item of DOOM.

Pan Galactic Gargle Slushie
by 0123kl
I made a Pan Galactic Gargle Slushie at the express request of my Bruce, Magrathea. It's her absolute favorite! The yellow sections are made of pineapple and banana, the orange is mango, nectarine, carrot and tangerine, and the blue is kiwi, apple, pear and cucumber. For each section, peel and dice the fruits and veggies, and toss them in the blender with some ice cubes and some water or juice. Optionally, add some sugar and adjust the colors with a little bit of food coloring. I highly recommend adding sugar. *cough* I accidentally tested out the sugar-free version, and while it is edible, it's not exactly delightful. The sugar version was much improved.

Snowman Slushie
by hthrlk
I made a snowman slushie using Watermelon Kiwi Invisible Drink Mix. I used a paper towel roll for the hat and covered it in black and red felt. The scarf and "N" are made from red felt. The carrot nose is made from a fuzzy stick. The eyes are buttons. I made the drink mix and then mixed it with ice in a blender.

Disco Slushie with Slushie Slinger
by jujipup
Mix Ice Motes with Banan, Ice Motes with Skrazapod, and Ice Motes with Purple Juppie and Pluburb Magical Seeds in separate containers. Build slushie to design pattern. Since the Disco Slushie is tropical, I used all tropical ingredients. Best of luck to all in accomplishing their Altador Cup goals!

Peanut and Chocolate Slushie
by keepbleedin
Yum! Put some milk and a few scoops of ice cream in your blender, pop in as much chocolate sauce and peanut butter (Remember to make it smooth if you don't want chunks!) in to the proportions you like, blend it on up and you've got a tasty peanut butter and chocolate smoothie!
If you want to get fancy you can use a spoon to decorate the cup with chocolate sauce too, and add a little squiggle on top.

Homemade Eyeball Slushie
by kochao21
While I could have gone with a "safer" flavor of slushie, my inner zombie was positively gleeful at the idea of making an eyeball slushie instead.
Recipe:
2-3 kiwi fruits
1 cup green grapes (give or take a few)
1 cup (very loose) baby spinach
1/4 cup sugar
ice cubes
1 rambutan for the "eyeball"

Freshly Cut Grass Slushie
by kutie_piii
It's a fine spring day and the grass is getting pretty long. You better go cut it, but wait! Don't throw out your lawn clippings! If it's green, it has to be good for you, right?

Ingredients
1 1/2 shredded green coconut
1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup limeade
1/2 fresh cut lime
3 cups ice
3 big chunks of pineapple
1 coconut (not of the evil variety) or 1/4-1/2 cup coconut milk
1 cup hot water

1. Toss 1 1/2 cup shredded coconut in 8-10 drops of green food coloring. Toast at 350 degrees for 3 minutes, stir, and toast for 3 more minutes. Soak in 1 cup hot water for 10 minutes with 1 1/2 tsp vanilla extract. Drain. Set aside 1/2 cup shredded coconut for later. Add 1 cup shredded coconut to blender.
2. Drain coconut for 1/4-1/2 cup coconut milk, or buy 1 can coconut milk. Add to blender.
3. Add 1 cup limeade to blender and squeeze 1/2 fresh cut lime into blender as well. Add 3 cups ice. Blend until smooth.
4. Pour mixture into Altador sanctioned Slushie Slinger cup (or a mug, whatever suits you).
5. Garnish top of beverage with remaining 1/2 cup shredded coconut. Add straw. Enjoy!

Strawberry Kiwi Vanilla Smoothie
by little_lady_goddess
Behold - the smoothie of your dreams! Blending the sweet flavours of strawberries, kiwifruit, AND vanilla, you've never seen a smoothie like it - now in 3 sizes (Small, Large, and Mega). In order to create the perfect swirls, I made 3 separate smoothies and then layered them together.

Layer 1: 1 package of strawberries, 2 cups of milk, and ice. 12 drops of food colour used to enhance colour.
Layer 2: 3 scoops of vanilla ice cream, 3 drops of vanilla extract, 2 tablespoons of vanilla yogurt, and as many marshmallows as you want for a special touch.
Layer 3: 6 kiwifruits, 1.5 cups of milk, and ice. 15 drops of food colour used to enhance colour.
Enough for about 4 Mega smoothies.

Munuberry Slushie
by maivry
The Munuberry's intriguing tendency to maintain its half-moon motif despite being blended prompted me to try creating its slushie. It even tasted good!

Ingredients:
Frozen strawberries
Orange juice
Raspberry syrup
Yellow sprinkles
Mandarin orange slices

Blend strawberries with some orange juice to create a puree. Stir in syrup and sprinkles. Alternate adding orange slices and puree to your glass so some slices are fully visible. Garnish the top with the remaining slices and sprinkles. Enjoy!

Apple Cinnamon Slushie
by mermelie
I think I may have found my newest love- this apple cinnamon slushie! Sweet, fresh, and incredibly tasty. There is a bit of prep work, but I promise it's nothing too difficult :) It's the perfect dessert drink on a warm summer night. I hope you enjoy it!

Magical Red Starry Slushie
by sharpsmiles
Magical Red Starry Slushie
A weird by product of an experiment that happened in Kauvara’s lab once...
To recreate the incident of March 6th, 2002 we needed 3 key Items. Banana Grubs, Apples topped with Snowberries, and an Aisha Morphing Potion. Sadly my pets were left to their own devices for a mere 15 minutes, a certain Gremlin Kitten ate the Morphing potion!
What we went with instead was a nutrition packed, frozen delight made with:
Apples, Bananas, Raspberries, and Strawberries blended till smooth. Then to add an icy chill, I used cubes of frozen pomegranate and pineapple juices.

To replicate the Starry bursts from an Aisha Transformation, I used a mixture of pineapple juice and gelatin (allot like bubble tea) To add sweetness and a fun texture.

Wormy Slushie
by treeword
Perfect little indulgence for those cool summer nights after being kissed all day by the sun. Fun to share as well. Oh Fyora was this delicious (and I made it at 9 am in the morning, so needless to say, it was the best breakfast ever!)

Dandelion Slushie
by xxxxbrettxxxx
With the beginning of summer comes dandelions and the need for icy cold drinks. If you find yourself craving a slushie that's different and delicious, then you might want to try this one!

To make the cup I used black and red acrylic paint on an average slushie cup.

To make the slushie I steeped some loose Dandelion Raw Root Tea and went outside to pick a half cup of dandelion flowers. I plucked the yellows out of the flowers and washed them. In my blender I combined 1-1/4 cups dandelion tea and 3/4 cup white grape juice with 5 cups of ice. I added the 1/2 cup dandelion yellows, 2 teaspoons of raw honey, squeezed juice from a lemon wedge, and blended.

Second Place

Twenty lucky people have 10,000 NP, the Random Contest avatar and an item whizzing their way.

Mystery Island Slushies
by 00piggie24
Try out these three delicious slushies and support Mystery Island for the Cup!

Mmmm...Grapity.
by fairlyanchored
Step One: Be overly determined to make the Space Slushie and buy things with "black" in the name (blackberries, black tea...).
Step Two: Throw all items (blackberries, black tea, ice, sugar) into blender without a care, assuming it'll turn out exactly as you planned.
Step Three: Remember that even though it has black in the name it will either turn brown or purple.
Step Four: Open lid of blender to find purple slushie and determine what other Neopian slushie the outcome looks like.
Step Five: Now that it looks like a Grapity Slushie...blend in some grapes.
Step Six: Add blueberries.
Step Seven: Enjoy!

Marshmallow Slushie
by gingerpaw88
Ingredients: Vanilla ice cream, marshmallows, milk, vanilla yogurt, whipped cream. You need to toast the marshmallows first before you can blend them, then place all in a blender (my blender isn't the strongest blender so it struggled a little with mixing). Then pour and top with whipped cream. Add your own garnishes on top for extra. It really was fluffy and creamy! PS. The N I made turned out to be too big for my glass!

Orange Cream Slushie
by gromits
If you are looking for that perfect summery and refreshing slushie- look no more!
The Orange Cream Slushie really IS a fruity taste sensation you just HAVE to try.
The steps to make it are simple- all you need is 1 cup crushed ice, 2 Tablespoons of cream and 1 Orange.
After peeling and slicing up your orange, measure your ice and cream and place it all in the blender. Blend till it's the perfect slushie consistency and enjoy! Simple, yet utterly delicious! Orange Chia Approved! This recipe only took me about half an hour to make.

Tiger Orange Slushie
by insatiable_spin
The Tiger Orange Slushie! To make it simply combine water, orange flavoring, and sugar; then pour the liquid mixture into ice cube trays and freeze. Once frozen, put the ice cubes into a blender along with a little bit of water and blend until the consistency is that of a slushie. Finally, pour the slushie into a glass in layers, adding a bit of molasses in between each layer. That's it! :)

Magical Red Starry Slushie
by j3nnard
Hi! I made the Magical Red Starry slushie, because it's very rare and it's the slushie I want the most. :) The ingredients are ice, strawberries, yogurt, mango, yellow mango, starfruit and starfruit juice, blueberries and red food coloring. First you slice the strawberries and regular mango, and then you put the ice and strawberries and juice into the blender. You then add the magic red food coloring to the yogurt, and add that into the blender with the mango slices with some starfruit juice to make sure it doesn't come out too thick. After that, slice the starfruit or yellow mango into star shapes. Squish blueberries in the bottom of the glass and line the glass with the star shaped fruit slices, and then pour the blended slushie on top and enjoy! Thanks for reading :D

Rose Slushie
by josefine378
Ingredients: Rose water, watermelon, strawberries, honey, sugar, roses and a slushie cup. Other tools: Blender, scissors to cut roses, black permanent marker, knife, pot, stove and freezer. I cut up the watermelon and froze it. I then mixed equal parts sugar and rose water in a pan, boiled it for 10 minutes, and let it cool to become rose flavored simple syrup. I blended the frozen watermelon, strawberries, simple syrup and a little extra rose water together in the blender, then poured it in my slushie glass marked with the Neopets N and garnished with roses!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Slushie
by kookybloo
I decided to make the Chocolate Chip Cookie Slushie because it's my favorite food item on the site and I always wondered what it tasted like. I can assure you it is indeed "very very fattening but delicious"!

Grapity Slushie
by kool_girl332
I don't like grape flavored things too much, but my Neopets LOVE Grapity Slushies, so I decided to make one myself :) I used crushed ice, one cup of concord grape juice, one cup of seedless grapes, a fourth of a cup of gummy candy, a blender, and an awesome cup. Blended it all together then mixed in the candies with a spoon, and the result was MAGICAL-- truly tasty and fun :)

Pan Galactic Gargle Slushie
by lilytail
Elegantly presented in a stem glass to reflect its truly gourmet status and the fact that it's dangerous to consume in excess! Garnished with a slice of lemon, of course, the Pan Galactic Gargle Slushie is both a sour and curiously floral concoction best served with a helmet, elbow pads, and a trip to the Healing Springs.

Tweezleberry Slushie
by pawz_pawz
Tweezleberry Slushie! Ingredients:
-1 Cup Grapes

Berry Blend Slushie!
by peawesome
What combines with perfect Altador Cup? a slushie, OF COURSE! thinking in that, I made the Berry Blend Slushie. something perfect to drink while you watch a game of yooyuball between Kreludor & Virtupets. :)

Wormy Slushie Surprise!
by psyduckies
So, I decided to create an edible wormy slushie! I couldn't resist turning a slightly disgusting concept (A worm slushie? Really?), into yummy goodness! Some of the worms are even sporting Altador Cup colors (Just look at those sneaky Shenkuu Worms escaping their slushie fate). I used Sour Gummy Worms, Chocolate Milk, a lot of crushed ice, and some ice cream to give it slushie consistency. Oh, and I almost forgot, you definitely need a blender. It was fun to create, but it was even better drinking it. :)

Icy Mint
by rabid_mon_goose
After looking at all the existing slushies on the site, I decided on the Icy Mint Slushie because it looked fun to make and because I like mint flavor.
After getting the proper container, I mixed vanilla ice cream and ice in the blender along with green food coloring and mint flavoring.
I then transferred the resulting drink into a separate container, and proceeded to repeat the process, using blue food coloring instead of green. Then, I drew the logo on the container in permanent marker (it ended up a little smudgy, whoops) and, next, poured the two colored drinks into the cup a little bit at a time.
After that, I put the two mint leaves on and, finally, put the top on and the straw in, which left me with the finished slushie.

Mmmmmangorific Slushie!!
by spasyba
Make a super-simple Mangorific Slushie to cool off with on a hot day! Carefully peel and cut a large, ripe mango into chunks. I like to use the BIGGEST KNIFE IN MY DRAWER for this part, don't judge me. Place the mango chunks into your blender or in a plastic bowl. Add the sugar, orange juice, ice cubes and blend to a nice slushie consistency. Pour the mixture into a transparent, tall cup, add the straw and enjoy! This Mangorific Slushie is incredibly healthy, instantly refreshing and provides guiltless gratification! :)

Several Slushies for slinging
by woodstocki
I had never made slushies before, but love experimental cooking, and this made a good challenge. All in all, I made four different slushies, the petpetpet poison slushie being the main inspiration and the biggest challenge:
1) Petpetpet Poison slushie, it might just be pineapple and kiwi flavoured, but you can never be too sure...;)
2) Kiwi slushie, from 1 fresh organic kiwi, reine claude syrup (it's a type of plum), ice cubes and water.
3) Pineapple slushie, from 1/4 fresh organic pineapple, mango juice, ground ginger and ice cubes.
4) Rose slushie, from rose syrup, coconut milk, ice cubes and water.

We had the perfect weather for trying out slushies here, the first summery day of the year! The kiwi slushie was the most popular one, and I'll definitely be making it again.
