Contest:
Coasting Through Spring

Grabs a icy lemonade...

Oh no! We just realized we have no where to put the lemonade. :( It seems your task for these next couple of weeks will be to create drink coasters that are themed to the Festival of Neggs! Your creation should be made by you. Be creative, make sure you pick out a medium that will work well and be durable when a damp glass is placed on top of it. When you submit your entry tell us what your entry is of in the title and why you drew what you did in your description. We will judge your entries on creativity, quality, and imagination.

First Place

Six winners receive the Random Contest avatar, 15,000 NP and an item of DOOM.

Faerie Negg Coasters
by i_luv_orange_soda
I wanted to create a set of negg-shaped coasters dedicated to the faeries, so I studied each of them very closely to create the perfect designs! Next I painted and sealed the wooden bases. And finally I shaped some stems out of polymer clay, baked them, and glued them on. I even poured the first glass of lemonade - I hope you like them! :)

Cool Negg Coaster
by laulaukins
This coaster was modeled after the Cool Negg. I used a crochet hook and various wool to make the coaster. It may be modeled after the 'Cool' Negg, but it's sure to keep my coffee table safe from HOT drinks!

Negg Festival Negg Coasters

Festival Negg Coasters and Holder
What better way to enjoy the Negg Festival than with your very own Negg Coasters!!
Bright and colourful for the Festival and as an added bonus, the coasters have their very own holder with Kari watching over them.

Chocolate and cybunny
by shami_209
For this Easter, chocolate is one of the most wanted things, personally am a fan of eating chocolates at this time, and cooler than the tender cybunnys to accompany eating!

Negg Patterned Coasters
by shylady_04
I created these coasters using ceramic tiles covered with cardstock and sealed with mod podge. I used different neggs to inspire the patterns on them!

Negg Coasters
by treeword
I made a large negg centerpiece that breaks apart into coasters! The negg was made from paper mache, sealed, and then painted with acrylic. So when not in use, just put them back together for a great decoration for the holiday. Happy Festival of Neggs!

Second Place

Ten lucky people have 10,000 NP, the Random Contest avatar and an item whizzing their way.

Noaggsters
by baristaboy
It seems as though some of the negg mascots of the festival of neggs have felt bad for coffee tables across Neopia and have decided to band together, ridding each battered coffee table of ring stain after ring stain! Who knows what they will do next! Only time will tell!

I created the hand moulded negg coasters out of clay, and painted them with watercolour artist crayons as well as adorned them with some sticker designs in places where it was needed. I feel like the durability of the clay will keep a coffee table or any table for that matter dry and pristine & retain its original condition.

Salt dough coasters!
by calico_valentine
I used Salt dough to create my negg coasters. To create the salt dough I used 1 cup of flour, 1 cup of salt, 1 tbsp of cooking oil and 200ml of water mix, mix to until you get a dough.

I cut out negg shapes and placed them on a baking tray and put in the oven to cook for 10-20 minutes until hard and set.
I left them to cool before I painted them with poster paint and decorated them.

Simple and easy and most people have all the ingredients in there house :)

Glamour and Glitter Coasters
by giggzabit
My coasters feature the Negg Faerie, the glamour negg, and the glittering negg. I hope the glamour and glitter brings fashion and fame! C:

Orange Crochet Negg Coaster
by kako144555
I recently learned how to crochet, so creating a crocheted Negg for this contest was a no-brainer! I combined use of chain, single crochet, double crochet, and treble crochet stitches to make the pattern of the Orange Negg. No Negg Festival is complete without a big pile of neggs, right?

Colorful Negg Coasters
by magical_intervention
I used worsed weight cotton yarn and a size G crochet hook to create 6 unique interpretations of neggs to be used as coasters. From the top and clockwise, Pastel Polka dot Easter Negg, Phear Easter Negg, Lime Swirly Negg, Spring Flowers Easter Negg, Magenta Polkadot Decorative Negg, and a Starflower Patterned Easter Negg. An in-the-round pattern was used to create the neggs base and crochet and needlepoint techniques were used to decorate the neggs.

Heart of the Fest
by ms_louve
For my very first (:D) Random Contest entry, I decided to create a coaster showcasing the stars and heart of this Festival - beautifully decorated neggs! I researched and chose eight different neggs that have been included within past festivals (either searched for or given away as prizes): 2 Plastic, 2 Decorative, and 4 Easter. I wanted to create a big coaster that could comfortably fit a mug while still displaying each design. To make the coaster, I sketched out a pattern, created templates, and cut polymer clay into eight negg shapes. I then sculpted a stem and leaves for each side - there were four different stem/leaf designs, differing on the type of negg. Then I joined all the individual pieces together, baked, and carefully painted each negg pattern true to how they appear onsite. The last step was waxing and buffing for a shiny, waterproof finish and... grabbing an icy lemonade ;) Hope you like it and thanks TNT for hosting these contests!

Negg Faerie Stained Glass Coaster
by pikcel
This coaster features my favourite faerie, Kari! Neopia just wouldn't be the same without her lovely Neggs every year! The coaster was created using a base of cut-out mounting board, painted with acrylic paints, and sealed with a gloss varnish to ensure that it's water-resistant. Happy Festival of Neggs, friends!

On The Grassy Fields
by planlysastrata
This coaster is card-stock paper painted with fabric paints which serves the dual purpose of looking awesome and waterproofing the paper. I drew a lovely spring day. The sun is shining there are fluffy white clouds floating through the sky and the grass is freshly coming in. Thankfully The Festival of Neggs is on this lovely day so everyone can go searching for the Neggs I have placed on my coasters.

Sponge Neggs
by soccer_star0911
Have an absorbent Negg Festival!
Here are some sponge neggs, just in time for your cup beaming with condensation during these hot festival of negg days.
It takes a toll on a neopian looking for all these hidden neggs, you need to stay hydrated.
But I mean, I just bought that nice bamboo table for my neohome and I can't have any water rings on it.
Keep up your classy neopian ways with these high quality sponge negg coasters. :)

Easter Grass & Negg Coasters
by zooelie
The coasters are made of cardboard which I painted green, I then glued some easter grass on top. My neggs are made from polymer clay and the tuft on top of each is also made of easter grass. I baked them to increase their durability. Then I glued them in pairs or solo in a corner so a glass would still fit on it. Sadly, all my glasses are still packed because I'm in the middle of moving, so my picture looks a bit plain without the lemonade I planned to make for this entry!

Third Place

Lastly there were 27 runners-up who will each receive 5,000 NP and the Random Contest avatar.
