Contest:
Neopia Post-Apocalypse

*Flails Arms Wildly*

We're doing fantastic here, but all the speculating on the Neoboards after the JumpStart announcement made us wonder what a post-apocolyptic Neopia would look like. So your task for the next couple of weeks is to draw or paint a picture of what you think Neopia would be like post apocalypse! Your creation should be made by you. Be creative, make sure you pick out a medium that will work well for what you want to get across. When you submit your entry tell us what your entry is of in the title and why you drew what you did in your description. We will judge your entries on creativity, quality, and imagination.

First Place

Five winners receive the Random Contest avatar, 15,000 NP and an item of DOOM.

The Red Future
by _twisted_obsidian_
This future Neopia has been boiled and blistered by it's own sun, a once beautiful star turned Red Giant. Sloth drones have used the inhospitable scape to their advantage and enslaved those left behind by their space-faring brethren. The past may have held many eras of utopian bliss, but always remember: everything ends.

Ahh Mr.sneky
by fatefulwings
Post-apocolyptic Neopia makes me so sad. :c There would be no more good nights in this once beautiful world, and it would be a lonely place without our dearest friends to keep us company.

Exodus of the Faeries
by ginacat12319
I remember the day the faeries left us. We all stood around, looking with disbelief upon hazy orange sky, watching those keepers of magic fly, one-by-one, to the stars. Our world was dying. The rivers had run dry, and dust hung thick in the air like fog. Food was hard to come by, and everything smelled of soot and ash. No wonder the faeries decided they'd had enough. They were off to find a better home, I suppose, somewhere out there in the vastness of space. I wondered what would happen next. Without the faeries' magic, would what little remained of Neopia crumble to ruin? Would the wraiths, whose shadowy forms had long been held at bay by Queen Fyora, return with a vengeance? I knew one thing for sure: if the faeries were leaving, the rest of us had better leave too.

What Once Was
by jodieklns
This piece was meant to represent a possibility if Xandra succeeded in ruling Neopia in the Faerie's place. With the Wraiths under her command, she wages war on the remaining lands of Neopia, forcing the remaining leaders to submit to her rule. As time passes, the wraiths grow further in strength until not even she can stop them. Soon much of Neopia becomes uninhabitable, the land too sick to farm and the wraiths lurking in the fog too dangerous. However some still remember the old times and vow to see them returned. Created using Photoshop CS5 and a Wacom Intuos 5 Small.

Neopocalypse
by karpetshark
When I think of an apocalypse, zombies come to mind. So what better way to show a Neopian apocalypse than with some zombie pets lurking around a run-down Neopia Central?

Second Place

Seven lucky people have 10,000 NP, the Random Contest avatar and an item whizzing their way.

At Least Faerieland is Back in the
by cannizarro
And even though gravity was no longer an issue, the Grundos still weren't sure how they were going to be able to string all of the floating islands back together with dental floss. The scenery may be grim, but I highly doubt that Neopia would remain in one piece should there ever be an actual Neopocalypse. Drawn in Corel Painter Essentials 4.

That Lucky Old Sun
by desinence
This is a rare image taken by Dr. Landelbrot's "failed" alternate timeline camera. This amazing device is just a camera, but with every picture, there's a chance that, instead of capturing the present, it will show what has yet to come... Not many that are around today can say that they witnessed the rise and fall of an empire. Neopians everywhere knew that Dr. Sloth was amassing his forces, but nobody believed that he would actually invade. Battle-Pets from all over Neopia joined together to battle his Robotic hoard. Sloth's numbers were great, and his victories were many; he won many battles, but he did not win the war! Sloth had conquered many lands before the Neopians were successful in their quest to restore order, leaving a wasteland of ruined cities and destroyed monuments. Even in the wasteland, though, Neopians continue to search for friends and fun.

Post-Apocalyptic Neopian Times
by keleek
My picture is a newspaper clipping from post-apocalyptic Neopia about the empty rainbow pool. The image in the article features an empty rainbow pool with Naia crying, a sad-looking money tree, the food store with a bite of cheese taken from it, the Neopian Bank on fire with a nimmo stealing from it, and the book store with a few crispy pages. There's also an old rotten shoe in the middle of the road. Why would somebody just leave that there?

Lost Dessert
by kuroh_chan
I made a post-appocalypse drawing of the lost dessert :) The drawing is made on adobe illustrator. The neopets in the drawing are based on my own and the landscape is what the Lost Dessert would look like after the apocalypse (with meteors and stuff). Hope you like it :)

The Money Tree Endureth
by leoashethos
When I thought of a post-apocalyptic Neopia, I thought automatically of The Money Tree. The buildings in this kind of world may be in ruin, the sky may be dark and black, but The Money Tree would still be standing helping out all neopets and pet-pets. I believe Neopia would still thrive in a post-apocalyptic world. There is much kindness and heart in Neopia. This is what I wanted to show the most. I used regular sketch paper, pencil, color pencils, and a little bit of pen (for my signature). I used a photo editor to adjust the colors a little after scanning. Total time worked on was about four to six hours. Thank you!

New leader, new hero, new hope.
by o_mermaid_princess_o
After the apocalyptic, there were some neopets survived. They lose their home, family and friends. So we need someone who can lead us , someone who can be our spiritual pillar, and someone who can bring hope, joy,and light to us.

Meepits Overlord
by pandorasiohma
The meepits have taken over Neopian world, the world and lands we love, no longer.. Our last transmission as we know it. Neopia as we no it, no more.

Third Place

Lastly there were 30 runners-up who will each receive 5,000 NP and the Random Contest avatar.
