Random Contest Winners!
Every week or so we have a new Random Contest. The rules and events vary from competition to competition. Below are the winners from the last contest. If you'd like to enter the current contest, wander on over to the Random Contest submission form and have a look at what the currently silly task is. If you think you're up for it, give it a shot and submit your entry. Contest: Do You Gnome When it's Spring? Tosses some dirt to the side... Can you believe it is almost spring! In the spirit of getting ready for spring we have a challenge for you this week. Your challenge is to create a Neopets themed gnome that you could use in your garden. You can make the gnome out of whatever you like as long as it makes sense that you would leave it outside. (You could even do a suet one for the birds.) Your creation should be made by you. Be creative, make sure you pick out a medium that will work well for the Neopet you wish to create. When you submit your entry tell us what your entry is of in the title and what you used to make it in your description. We will judge your entries on creativity, quality, and humour. First Place Three winners receive the Random Contest avatar, 15,000 NP and an item of DOOM. Dung with his pet Plushie Krawk by hirosito Dung and his pet Plushie Krawk are modeled after my pet 4x4. These items are made completely from baked clay with some light paint for shading. The gnome hats are removable from both the dung and the krawk. The perfect items to decorate any garden! Leaf Carrying Bori Gnome by silverpurpledust Sadly, I do not have a garden as I live in a big apartment building, and there's no garden outside either, 'cause, you see, it's still kinda cold here. But is it a reason not to get a garden gnome? Of course it's not! So my Bori Gnome (inspired by an existing neogarden item) now lives in my own little "garden", not only welcoming my guests but also lighting my evenings with a candle! A leaf he carries can be used as a seat for the gnome or as a candlestick, because both gnome and his leaf are water- and fireproof! Happiness Faerie and Grundo Gnomes by treeword Since I reside in an apartment complex, with unfortunately bad landscaping, I decided to make miniature polymer clay models of the Happiness Faerie frolicking gleefully with his Grundo gnome companions. After all, who likes Spring more than the Happiness faerie? And, they are easy to stick in any plant! At first, they sat inside, but I kept feeling like they were staring at me and I think they come alive at night and wreak havoc on my apartment (because its always so dirty in the morning!), so now they sit peacefully on my balcony enjoying the sunshine! Second Place Six lucky people have 10,000 NP, the Random Contest avatar and an item whizzing their way. Blue Meerca Gnome by _y3red_ I made this pretty gnome Meerca to decorate my not so beautiful but dear garden, the gnome was made of paper, adhesive tape, glue, cardboard and pretty paints to give life to this wonderful pet. Pea Chia Fishing gnome by cybdragon Now that the snow is melting and the lowers are ready to sprout, who better than a gnome to take care of your garden. My Pea Chia just happens to like fishing. Blue Wocky Gnome by lizi_05 Materials: Natural sponge, cotton, wood paper, scissors, glue, acrylic paints, duct tape, cardboard, craft foam and brushes. I really like Wocky, I found a very fun and entertaining opportunity. I liked doing this activity. The body and tail is made with natural sponge, next use cotton, duct tape and cardboard to make the ears and Wocky forms. Once finished, I used paper and glue to harden and once dry, I painted it with acrylic paints. Finally, the craft foam will add the details of the face and belt buckle. Hasee Mushroom Bounce by patchesmagee I made a bobble head mushroom with two hasee gnomes out of polymer clay, a barn nail, and a spring. Kadoatie gnome by white_ozette Gnomes also needs to be feed! Specially Kadoatie gnome! This greedy is made with polymer clay, 100% waterproof. It was hard because… well… he tried to eat the clay! Ixi Garden Gnome by xxfrostbitten I created the gnome structure from oven-baking clay, which I hand sculpted. I then painted it with acrylic paint, which is water-proof upon drying. I used a dry brush technique with the acrylics to add color depth. I sprayed it with a weather-proof clear spray paint, and attached plastic flowers for a finishing touch. My Ixi Garden Gnome was inspired by the Sulky Ixi Gnome. The mushroom is a prop. Third Place Lastly there were 14 runners-up who will each receive 5,000 NP and the Random Contest avatar.
