Do you like to sew?
Over the next couple of weeks our challenge for you is to create a Neopets themed pin cushion! It can be whatever you like as long as it is themed to Neopets. The cushion should be completely made by you. Please tell us what the pin cushion represents, and what you used to create it in the description. We will judge entries based on usefulness, creativity, and how awesome they are. :)

First Place

Ten winners receive the Random Contest avatar, 15,000 NP and an item of DOOM.

Babaa Pin Cushion
by aniaki86
My pin cushion is a Babaa and is made out of white, grey and navy blue felt. I hand stitched my pin cushion with white, grey and black thread, then I filled my Babaa with stuffing. I stitched a piece of elastic on, so I can have my pin cushion around my wrist to use while sewing.

Dr. Sloths Personal Bath Buddy
by babiekins
My favourite battledome item is my trusty Dr. Sloths Personal Bath Buddy: packs a punch, and just so cute! Just look at that little cape! I couldn't resist making this plushie pin cushion version, with it's own removable Dr. Sloth cape - all of the cuteness with none of the danger of the real thing (though you do have to watch out for pinpricks!) Made from fabric, polyfil and pins. Lots of pins.

Baby Uni and Voodoo dolls
by bridgette11_3_2
Evil villains and sewing enthusiasts alike will love these adorable pin cushions! The materials I used to make the lovely Fyora Voodoo doll were: a white Cotton pillowcase for the dress (I dyed it pink with red food coloring), Pink colored crafting felt for the hair, blue crafting felt and pink and silver candy foil for the crown, pink ribbon for her belt and arm bands, hot glue gun, pink buttons for the eyes, cotton stuffing, and a needle and thread. To make the courageous Magax Voodoo doll: I used Blue and purple polyester material for his body and eyebrows, yellow, black, and grey crafting felt for his vest, Red and Yellow crafting felt for his eyes, and white buttons that I painted orange with nail polish. I sewed him together with a needle and thread, and stuffed him with cotton. For the cuddly Baby Uni pin cushion I used : a fluffy pink glove for the body, white crafting felt for the hooves and horn, pink yarn, pipe cleaners, and felt for the wings. For the eyes I used white buttons that I painted Blue with nail polish. I stuffed it with cotton and sewed it together with a needle and thread. For all you Grarrls , and Skeiths out there :GLUTEN FREE!
*Warning: Use Voodoo dolls at your OWN risk. Not responsible for any injuries/damage caused by vengeful faeries, or Magax.
**Also not responsible for insomnia due to guilt of sticking pins into baby Unis.

Chia Everywhere
by daminhazinha
This week I was inspired by the special creatures known as Chia. These cuties come in a variety of colors and flavors, so my favorites are now pin cushions! They are so cool and so... tasty. I have made them from silk socks, cloth, stuffing, and clay for some details. I also used scissors, glue, needle & thread.

Sew Cute!
by danithedinosaur
Don’t be fooled by his cuddly exterior! This hasee is full of sharp pins! Made with felt, fiberfill, embroidery floss, and glitter pom poms.

Brewing up a new creation
by kaijugal111
Puff the Halloween Angelpuss is making some tasty voodoo moss stew! --- I molded this from paperclay & woodglue. The cushion itself is velvet and clean kitty litter. I'm going to use it to keep my beading needles. The "fire" is glittery but sadly it does not show up in photos. ^_^ Cheers!

Needle Felted Blue Snorkle Hot Tea
by moonbeamgoddess
This is my needle felted Blue Snorkle Hot Tea. It is, as all tea collector's know, the most adorable teapot in all of Neopia. It is however, unavailable to the tea fanatics of Neopia, since it appears to be unreleased. So as of right now, I have the only one!!! Muahahaha! This piece took over 12 hours of needling.

Pink Cupcake Plushie
by nullaby
This is my Pink Cupcake Plushie pin cushion. I found this looking for cute things for my gallery and just love it! To make the plushie I used Felt, fleece, stuffing, needles, thread, scissors, recycled t-shirts of different colors, embroidering thread, ribbon, super glue, marker, cardboard, and a sock.

Snowman Nesting Pincushions
by teleplay
This was my first time sewing ever so I wanted to go all-out and make something cute and decorative. Needless to say, some parts of the Snowman Nesting Dolls gave me a lot of trouble (noses, that blue felt hat…). A tip I found online that really helped was tracing plates on your cloth and using it as a base for your pincushion. Winter has been especially brutal for us this year, so with these Snowman Nesting Dolls pincushions, I feel like I can get a little revenge… ;D Also, every year, I promise myself that I will go out and make snowmen and then I get too lazy and don’t, so this is a cute alternative!

Birthday Warf Pin Cushion
by treeword
Wait! Before you call the Petpet Protection League, I should tell you this little guy is made entirely out of felt and polyester fill! So its perfectly fine to stick him with a few pins. :)

Second Place

Seventeen lucky people have 10,000 NP, the Random Contest avatar and an item whizzing their way.

Meridell Shield Stamp Pin Cushion
by _jochen_
For my Meridell Shield Stamp Pin Cushion I used: batting, felt, twist and glue.

Fall Scarecrow Pin Cushion
by angelgurlz0930
This pin cushion was made to resemble my very first NC Mall purchase ever. The Fall Scarecrow Mystery Capsule is the cutest capsule ever and I still haven't opened it. I used burlap, ribbon, glue, buttons, and love to make this little guy. I also used pins, of course!

Little Miss Prissy
by cherryclafoutis
My pin cushion is a green Uni with a Prissy Miss Bow in her hair. I crocheted her out of green, tan and cream cotton yarns and stuffed her with fiber fill from a retired old pillow. The bow was made out of muslin and decorated with pink pencil hearts, then I sewed on black buttons for eyes. I hope you like it!!

Edible Plushie Pin Cushion
by laniesma
The Edible Plushie is my favourite item on neopets. I am excited that this little guy will be accompanying me while I'm sewing from now on!
Items used:
- I blew up the image and printed it to use as a pattern.
- Markers were used to colour the fabric.
- I sewed him together using my sewing machine and some hand sewing to attach the hair and patch.
- I used rice in the bottom to give him weight and stability when standing, then stuffed him full with polyester filling

He's quite happy to be part of my sewing kit!

Plushie Buzzer
by laurena50
This little Buzzer pincushion was made using recycled clothing for the body, with fiberfill inside. I used a sewing machine as well as sewing by hand to make this little guy. With buttons for eyes, and chenille stems for arms and legs, he was finished off nicely with felt wings.
I think he is just as cute as a bug!

Cheesy
by manditch
It took me awhile to do this. I've never tried sewing before but I decided to take it up so as to kill two birds with one stone - pick up a new skill and try to win myself a nifty new trophy :)

It was definitely challenging and I got frustrated at times but all in all, I had a lot of fun and I'm so proud of myself being able to sew now! The best part about this is that, even though I'm no sewing expert, now my mom has a brand new pin cushion and she loves it! I picked this theme because of the Techo-cheesy avvie and I really like that avvie!

Pin Kad-shion
by mistychristy
Greedy kadoatie take your neopoints? Miss a kadoatery feed? Stick some pins into this little guy -- he won't mind!

Valentine Chomby Pin Cushion
by nartie
I wanted to make a pin cushion since my sister bought me heart pins for Christmas, this competition gave me added motivation and a theme! I decided on Chomby because I loved the idea of the pins being part of the pet so I used them as spines. I used fleece, heart material, stuffing and beads. He looks really good - I will have to remember not to hug him when he's got pins in! What do you think I should call him?

Fyora Voodoo Doll Handheld Plushie
by neofan2561
My pin cushion represents, the Fyora Voodoo Doll Handheld Plushie. After much research, I decided upon recreating a pin cushion already available to my Neopets. To create the pin cushion I used: Felt, hot glue, a sharpie marker, scissors, cotton stuffing, and ballpoint pins. Overall, I really enjoyed creating this pin cushion and have already used it in my crafts.

Walking Carpet Pincushion
by purrykitty77
Walking Carpets have been one of my favorite petpets since I became aware of them, as not only are they adorable but they reference one of the most iconic movies of all time! I created this Walking Carpet using felt, polyester fiber fill, a needle and thread, scissors, and a glue gun. I put a row of pins to represent Chewbacca's outerwear. The pencil is there just for scale.

Kookith Pin Cushion
by saiyamewomen
Made a simple cute Kookith out of flannel fabrics scrap, and used my sewing machine to make the embroidery face, it pretty much took a while but quite fun, and now it's my new pin cushion!

Walking Carpet Pink Cushion
by saruska
I am very happy to say that a neopian petpet is now my new pin cushion! I have recently taken a love for Walking carpets so this was a perfect opportunity. You can see the materials used (and the cost) in the picture. This was not just an excuse to use that funny fluffy fabric ;)

Woodland Blobikins Pin Cushion
by smillingpanda0108
It is a cuddly and bouncy woodland Blobikins pin cushion that is going to protect you from being pricked by those ouchie pins! This puffy safe pin cushion is made from bright green felt (the body) sewn by hand and is filled with lots of plush fillings! The prickly thorns are made by soft air-dry clay and the flower is made by pink felt and a button. Everything is sewn together by hand. The shades of darker colors and pink blush on the cheek is made with soft pastels.

Faerie Slorg Pin Cushion
by theredbandit
This Slorg is a happy little fellow who promises not to leave massive slime trails all over your sewing! It'll happily hold on to all of your pins for you. Is is constructed of fleece, felt, fluff, and lots of love! It is entirely hand sewn and stands about 5 inches tall.

Plumpy & Bacon Pincushion
by unfreeze_divicool72
I love Plumpy! For the main pincushion used felt, scissors, a sewing needle and thread (to sew it all together), stuffing (I used polyester toy fill) and craft glue to stick on the facial details. And you can't have Plumpy without some bacon (Plumpy loves bacon!) so I made a little bacon pouch out of some scrap fabric I found around the house. You can keep buttons or needles or spools of thread in there. Or little pieces of bacon, if you were feeling particularly peckish and/or Plumpy-ish! (dont keep bacon bits in there, thats a terrible idea)

P3 Habitarium House
by wingy1
My pin cushion is based on the P3's house found in the Habitarium. I love playing the game and often thought some of the buildings would make interesting pin cushions and other needlework accessories. This pin cushion was made entirely from coloured felt. Other materials used in its construction were embroidery thread, sewing thread, polyester toy stuffing, and tiny glass beads for the light which I thought would reflect the light rather effectively. I first drew the patterns pieces from studying the house in my own Habitarium. Then cut them out in felt, leaving a small seam allowance where necessary. The whole cushion was hand sewn very carefully and with much love. :) And I'm rather pleased with how it has turned out.

Woodland Blobikins Pincushion
by 123423453456
chose a Woodland Blobikins to make because it's one of my dream petpets. I used various colored felts and threads, a pair of scissors, a needle, a bag of chips, and some imagination!

Third Place

Lastly there were 48 runners-up who will each receive 5,000 NP and the Random Contest avatar.
