Random Contest Winners!
Every week or so we have a new Random Contest. The rules and events vary from competition to competition. Below are the winners from the last contest. If you'd like to enter the current contest, wander on over to the Random Contest submission form and have a look at what the currently silly task is. If you think you're up for it, give it a shot and submit your entry. Contest: How Instrumental! Music in the wind... With the holidays fast approaching we know that a lot of Neopians will be entertaining. So why not create something with which to entertain your guests! Thus, for the random contest this week we would like you to make a Neopets themed musical instrument. It can be an instrument already on the site, or one that you create yourself from your creative mind. But it should be made 100% by you, it should work/play, and it should be Neopets themed. Your submission should include a picture of your instrument. Please tell us what your instrument is and how it works and what you used to create it in the description. We will judge entries on creativity, playability, and their overall awesomness. :) First Place Two winners receive the Random Contest avatar, 10,000 NP and an item of DOOM. Terror Mountain Clay Orcina by ivyfoo My entry is a Terror Mountain clay orcina. I made it with oven bake clay and painted it in the traditional Terror Mountain colors. They are easy and fun to make and play! ^___^ Sklyde Xylophone by jbforever I chose the materials for my Sklyde Xylophone carefully, to ensure maximum playability. The body and mallets are made out of clay, while the head is made out of papier-mâché. When strummed, the hollow bones sound like a spooky windchime, while the head sounds a bit like a drum! Second Place Four lucky people have 5,000 NP, the Random Contest avatar and an item whizzing their way. Cool Festive Tiki Shaker by angel_of_heaven84 There're 2 ways to shake this shaker. You can shake it the normal way to get a rattling sound, or just swing the round button on top of its christmas hat to create a hammered sound. I used 2 toilet rolls, ice cream sticks, recycled paper for the main body. For the hat, I knitted the entire hat from recycled yarn, added old round buttons for decor and stuffed the inside part with scrap cloth to give it volume. Shaking Gourd by odemus The Shaking Gourd is KEY to keeping the rhythm of any Band. With some Paper Mache, Paint, String, and Beads. You to can Shake out a Beat! Strumming with red, orange & gold! by psyko_doogie Since it's already November, I decided to go with an autumn theme for my entry and what was better than the Autumn Guitar! I know that the Autumn Guitar is a little less lavish as the guitar I made, but I couldn't help but to add all those pretty fall colors to it! I ended up using a foam board, brown and white acrylic paint, rubber bands, scissors, small decorative fall leaves and vines, a wooden dowel for the strings to rest on, a glue gun, white paper and 6 hours of work with a little patience. Happy Autumn! (: Christmas Blumaroo Harp by skittles291 I made a Christmas Blumaroo themed harp. I used cardboard, elastic string, markers, white paper, a white crayon, glue, and glitter. You play it by plucking the little strands of elastic string! :D Third Place Lastly there were 11 runners-up who will each receive 2,000 NP and the Random Contest avatar.
