Contest:
Bleached out from Summer

Time to open up some windows.... Oh, not because someone farted or anything, but we decided to make some bleach shirts and the smell of bleach is a bit strong! Hmmm... that would be a good activity for all of you to do over the next couple of weeks! Your task will be to make bleach shirts with a neopets stencil/design on them. (To make one, simply take a plain shirt and use the bleach as your paint! Draw, dab, spray, or even use a stencil to make a Neopets-related design on your shirt.) Your submission should include a picture of your shirt before you start and then when you are done. Please tell us what the pattern is on your shirt in the description. We will judge entries on creativity, beauty, and how awesome they are. :)

First Place

Five winner receives the Random Contest avatar, 10,000 NP and an item of DOOM.

Vira Summer Bleach
by bellial
Vira's awesomeness made the dye flee in terror!!! :D

Sloth For Life!
by impellent
The pattern on my shirt is modeled after the great leader, Dr. Sloth, to commemorate his glorious future rule over all of Neopia! Sloth for life!

Faerie Grundo
by logic_fail
I made a Faerie Grundo shirt! The stencil was in three pieces - one for the main body, and then one for each wing. I had all three down to spray for the background color, then removed the wing stencils to make the stars, before finally removing the body stencil to paint on the details.

Pink Faerie Pteri
by tien_kou
For my shirt I decided I wanted to do something bright and colourful! After spying a particularly pink t-shirt I thought a faerie pteri was the perfect subject as the bleach could add the yellow tones. For the stencil I wanted to keep the lines quite fine, so I painted melted wax onto the shirt before spraying the whole thing with bleach, I then added the detail with a paint brush.

Jazzmosis Bleach Shirt
by toffeedatepudding
I wanted to do something really cool for this project. And there is nothing cooler in Neopia, that my favorite band - Jazzmosis! So off I went to create the coolest bleach shirt ever made. Materials used: adhesive paper, cutting mat, box cutter, old cotton shirt I found at the bottom of a closet (it's huge because it's not even mine, oops!), bleach, water and gloves. Instructions: I drew my design on adhesive paper, then cut it out slowly using a box cutter on my cutting mat. After, I peeled off the sticker backing and stuck it on the shirt. I put on gloves and mixed bleach with a little water in a spray bottle. In a well-ventilated room lined with newspapers, I sprayed over the design and watched as the bleach did its job. I left it overnight then peeled off the sticker the next day. After throwing it in the dryer to set, it was done!Hope you like it! Take it to the next Jazzmosis concert and have it signed by all the members of the band for extra coolness!

Second Place

Nine lucky people have 5,000 NP, the Random Contest avatar and an item whizzing their way.

Bleach Meepit in Haunted Woods
by beckykbrooks
I started with a plain Navy Blue T-Shirt. Then I made stencils of a Scary Tree, a Moon, a Meepit and the writing for the back using freezer paper. I used a hot iron to lightly adhere the stencils to the shirt. I mixed 1/2 cup each of bleach and water in my spray bottle and sprayed the mixture on the stenciled areas of the shirt. I quickly removed the stencils and allowed the shirt to dry. Finally, I added some accents with my Black Sharpie and took my finishing photos.

Team Haunted Woods
by chebvernessez
As I'm new to the bleach painting process, I chose a simple design: the Haunted Woods team logo. I hope you like it! :)

Faerie Aisha Bleached Shirt
by dogfox103
A Faerie Aisha silhouette made using a negative wax paper stencil and sprayed on undiluted bleach.

Wraith Shoyru
by fatefulwings
A reverse-bleached Wraith Shoyru design! Because the tape sealed the shape of the Neopet, it is one of the few parts of the shirt to remain purple. When I went bleach-crazy on the rest of the clothing it all turned a very, very bright pink. Who knew?

Uh-Oh..
by marshmallowpancakes
I thought it would be fun to make my shirt into an avatar so my design is the Fishing - Titanic Squid avatar! I enlarged the image of the Giant Titanic Squid, printed it and made a stencil out of it. I put my bleach into a spray bottle and sprayed the shapes first - I even tried to do it in an order so they would be different shades of bleach - didn't really work out xD I also don't recommend using a paper stencil like I did, it'll fall apart easily! I added the dark lines with a bleach pen once everything else was dry. Then I sprayed the whole shirt to make it look a little more interesting. Lastly, I rinsed off the bleach pen goo and tossed it in the dryer. Hope you like it!

Meowclops with Mallow
by mskitty95045
Well, I choose a Meowclops for my shirt, and I'm quite pleased with the turn out. Isn't it just ADORABLE with that big eye? And that cute mallow it's hoping to catch! Adorable! And on such and, interesting colored shirt. o.o Ya, it's epic. I know. B) But ummm, you should totes just ask Sophie that witch, I'm SURE she'll give you a non biased opinion on Meowclopes. 0:) So yep, that's my epic bleach shirt. :3

Oh Pants!
by pensievemist
With summer drawing to a close and autumn closing in I decided to combine the two with this orange pant devil pumpkin design on a warm weather T-shirt. With the bleach showing orange on the black T-shirt it was just too perfect to think about a different design.

PremiumBat
by twumpbabie
First off, let me say Thanks, to PremiumBat for inspiring me! I started with a plain black tank top, I cut out the neopets logo, and a few korbats, and a grundo and made my very own Neo shirt.

Skunk Shoyru and Spooky Moon
by watergun1490
I decided to go with a more simple picture. I decided to use a black shirt knowing that the bleach would turn a shade of orange. It may not be Halloween yet, but there is nothing wrong with starting to decorate early. :) I started out by drawing my favorite neopet, a shoyru. I decided to do a skunk shoyru because the body design would show up better than others I had in mind. A Halloween-looking shirt wouldn't be complete without the cute, yet awesome looking spooky moon from my favorite mystery capsule! I started off by drawing the body outline of the shoyru with a pencil. I went over it using the small tip of the bleach pen. After the basic outline was done, I flipped the pen over and brushed the line outwards to create the orangeish-white area around the shoyru. Next, I did the outline of the moon and it's mouth and eyes. I brushed the outline of the moon outwards like I did for the shoyru. I blow dried both elements until the bleach was almost dry, then I added the detail to the shoyru and colored the inside of the moon. Again, blow dried both elements until the bleach was almost dry. I then used the small tip to write out "Neopets". I do this whenever I make other shirt supporting my favorite teams, I write the name across the bottom of the shirt. After that, I left the shirt outside to dry for about 2 hours, then I brought it back inside and used up the rest of the bleach in the pen and created multiple angled brush strokes to cover the rest of the shirt. My goal was to make it tye-dye looking. And that's how I created this bleach shirt! Enjoy. :)

Third Place

Lastly there were 14 runners-up who will each receive 2,000 NP and the Random Contest avatar.
