Contest:
Knitting with Food

Mmmmm... edible accessories!

Have you ever felt like you never have food handy when you want it? Well this has inspired our latest challenge for you. Your task for this week is to knit something neopian (It can be a hat, scarf, gloves, necklace, etc.) out of food. Whatever you knit should be completely made by you, with help from an adult if needed. Please tell us what you used to make your item and why you made what you made in the description. We will judge entries based on creativity, yumminess, and how awesome they are. :)

First Place

Five winners receive the Random Contest avatar, 20,000 NP and an item of DOOM.

Yummi Mad Tea Party Hat
by 1winxlayla4
For making this yummi hat I just took the candy laces and crocheted ;). I used the Mad Tea Party Hat for inspiration.

Scarves :D
by friend101253
Here are the stars...er scarves! They are made out of artificially flavored candy 'whips', that, by the way, are pure yumminess themselves. I made scarves because technically I can't knit but here they are nonetheless, on a fabulous blumaroo model. The green scarf is modeled after the Colourful Patterned Blumaroo Scarf and the rainbow was fo fun, inspired by rainbow socks! Enjoy C:

Simple Starfish Lutari Necklace
by lanalorabanana19
So this is my first entry for the random contest. I know my mom is not going to be very happy to see me knitting with food, since she sees that as playing with food. Mom, if you happen to ever read this, it was only 100% marzipan (in spring colors)! No any other food was involved. I used following tools to prevent my necklace from falling apart during "knitting":
- Crochet hook
- Not edible thread (only used to keep marzipan "together")
The thread has been removed afterwards, and Simple Starfish Lutari Necklace is 100% edible.

(Not Truly Knitted) Pink Knit Purse
by lindylily
I think that the pink knit purse is one of the cutest accessories on neopets, so I decided to make one for myself! I have a huge sweet tooth so Pull 'n' Peel Twizzlers were the perfect medium to create a cute and yummy little purse. I could only find cherry Twizzlers, so my purse is actually red with a sugary pink accent made from watermelon Sour Punch Straws. Unfortunately for me, I have no idea how to knit. How did I manage to make a knit purse without knitting? I just did a basic over, under cross weaving sort of pattern. (Think of a lattice pie crust...) I braided the strap and the pink accents. I know, I should probably be shunned for entering an edible knitting contest without even owning a knitting needle, but just look at how adorable the result is! It took me about five hours to put it all together, but I have a feeling it will be gone in minutes when I finally take that first bite...

The SCARF
by plain_girl
This scrumptious neopets' "Scarf" is knitted with blue raspberry & banana flavored licorice whips. The body of the scarf was knitted with chop sticks for knitting needles, & a crochet hook was used to work the sticky fringe. The combined result is almost tchea like in flavor & has me craving a cup of boravan. You can see it modeled by a yellow lupe plushie on chubby_2134 's petpage!
