Contest:
Sign of Direction

The task for this week is to celebrate the discovery of both Meridell and Brightvale. You will help other Neopians find either places in those lands or the lands themselves with a handy dandy sign post. This post can have 1 arrow or many arrows. It should be themed to Meridell and/or Brightvale. You can make the sign post out of whatever you like as long as it stays within the theme. Please tell us what your sign post is directing people to/from and what your sign post is made of in your description. We're judging the sign posts on hilarity, direction, and overall creativity and coolness.

First Place

Five winners receive the Random Contest avatar, 10,000 NP and an item of DOOM.

Mouldy Meridell Sign
by bouxter
I made a sign pointing towards Meridell. To make it, I broke pencils in half and sharpened both ends. I stuck each end into a mouldy potato, so they would stay together. I then painted "MERIDELL" on the potatoes. For the top of the sign, I cut cardboard into the shape of a loaf of bread. I ripped stale bread into small pieces and glued it on to make a mosaic. I then painted an arrow on top of the bread. I tied the potatoes and mosaic to a pole using twine. If you're ever lost and hungry, this sign is perfect for you! ;)

Dead End
by intoleration
This sign wards travelers away from a dead end with the help of a not-so-friendly Crokabek. The arrows were made from the remains of old shoeboxes while the petpet was made of modeling clay. The entire sign is held together by an unnecessary amount of hot glue. :D

Brightvale Sign
by lord_eladamri
This sign directs people to several locations in Brightvale: Brightvale Castle, Wheel of Knowledge, the Scrollery, Brightvale Armoury, Royal Potionery and Brightvale Books. The sign was made out of plywood, sprayed with green and gold paint and the letters were burnt onto it. The smaller signs are held to the post by wire.

Royal Potionery Ahead
by nut862
This sign alerts visitors that they are approaching Brightvale's proud Royal Potionery, where all manner of mystical brews can be obtained if the traveler is willing to pay the price. The sign is made of cardboard, ink, and paint, and is mounted on a wooden pole. It seems to have been knocked slightly askew from some potion-related mishap that the management is not at all responsible for. Rest assured, however, that for any customers dissatisfied with their purchases, the management offers compensation kisses completely free of charge.

Which way to the castle?
by ziporen
Ever go to Brightvale and have no clue where to go buy that scroll you've been wanting, or find your way to the Wheel of Knowledge in the myriad of streets? Have no fear, for this sign is now here to help point you in the right direction! (Or at least, part of it.) This was made with yellow and white crafting foam, mounted on a cut up cereal bar box that I spray painted white. The writing was free handed in pencil, outlined with a thin permanent marker, and filled with a thicker permanent marker. The drawings were done with permanent markers, highlighter, and some plain old colored markers. The signs themselves are held together with 5/16" stainless steel jump rings, and are attached to the wooden pole with masking tape.

Second Place

Twelve lucky people have 5,000 NP, the Random Contest avatar and an item whizzing their way.

The Wrong Sleeping Beast
by bishoujo702
My sign post is directing people TO the Turmaculus and FROM King Skarl's sleeping chambers. It was made with cardboard, acrylic paint, a Sharpie marker, yarn and TLC. I had a story to go along with it but it was too long. T_T

Beware
by dory_ale90
Well, now you're sure that you can't loose the way!!You can go to Meri Acres Farm or to Meridell and here you can find some Mortogs that need your kisses or the Turmaculus, he probably needs a pillow! By the way beware meepits are here!! I've used a stick, colours(pencils), scissors, glue, pins, cardboard.

Crossroads
by imogenweasley
Skarl and Hagan's deeply rooted sibling rivarly is as old as their kingdoms themselves. You've come to a crossroads. Each king is pointing to their land, trying to convince you to pick their side. What will you do? Choose well. The signs were made of cardboard and painted with acrylic paints. They're held up by popsicle sticks.

Celebrate the discovery of Brightvale
by legion25
This signal is to celebrate the discovery of Brightvale. It was totally made by me.

It may need to be rediscovered
by magic_warf_girl
This sign post seems to be made by a confused person... It doesn't look like they actually knew where Brightvale was! Theoretically it is pointing to Brightvale...many, many times. I made the post out of a soft wood, nails, and green, white, and black paint.

Way to Meridell
by naama_mikeas
This is for you to guide in Meridell. I used: Wood Paper, Styrofoam, Glue, Paint and Fabric

Turmaculus Warning Sign
by oompha
When thinking of an idea for this random contest, I thought, 'Why not do a WARNING sign for the turmaculus??' I knew that it would have to show a direction, but who said the the sign can't show a way NOT to go instead of to follow it? So I found a large piece of peeled bark from a sycamore tree, and painted part of it white. I then painted a head of a turmac (don't judge it too hard, I didn't have the exact same colors AND I painted it from memory) and a black arrow. Noticing too late that the head was too small in ratio to the rest of the sign, I painted a red WARNING under the turmac. It still didn't seem right, so I painted another red TURMAC above the picture, and my sign seemed almost perfect. As a finishing touch, I painted a black 5 MILES above the arrow to show how far away the turmaculus was. When the sign was complete, I glued 2 twigs to the back of the sign, stuck it in the ground, and let everyone marvel at my awesome sign!!

Games of Brightvale and Meridell
by ricardohenriques
Nothing better for a player than a post with the games of Brightvale and Meridell, don't you think?

Finding the Castles
by sinda21__a90
This little sign is here on the border of Meridell and Brightvale. It's here to show you which way is the Wise Old King, to show your knowledge. And which way is the Grumpy Old King to show your laughter. This sign was made with a small piece of wood, craft paint, neopet plushies, grass, printer paper, clear tape, and tissue paper.

The ironic post sign...
by tilloly
The sign post is almost all made of cardboard. I draw the wheel, the king skarl and the mortog with paper (and patience ^^), and the sign and inscription are hand painted. The fruit is made of scoobidoo, crepon paper and little purple candy.

Brightvale and Meridell
by wallawallawallawalla
My sign post is directing to both meridell and Brightvale, it has a map of both on it, and their towers are on the sign. My sign post is made of wood from the forest in our yard. My little brother helped me color in the castle. We also bought spray paint so i could paint the background white.

Meridell Directions Sign
by watergun1490
This sign post was made in celebration of the Discovery Of Meridell and I chose to make multiple arrows directing Neopians to my favorite places. (: The signs are made out of 1/4 inch plywood and they are attached to a 6 1/2ft. metal pole using U-shaped brackets and 1/4 inch nuts and bolts. The signs were painted completely white, then blue with a 1/2 inch, yellow border. The letters are white stickers covered in red paint. Attached to the individual signs are: playing cards, lipstick patterns, hand painted flowers, castle, crown, and wooden circles(these are the cheese wheels). Lastly, there is a hand painted tree(using orange and green glitter glue), and a spray painted, hand crafted arrow.

Third Place

Lastly there were 100 runners-up who will each receive 2,000 NP and the Random Contest avatar.
