Brightvale beauties
by nasenet
I used: one cardboard, one Candle, Watercolor pencil, and Water to make watercolor. My favourite land is Brightvale because they have exotic foods, medieval style castle, I really love stained glasses, too much green! And also a Wise king and a lot of great books.

Batik to Shenkuu
by starlite1287
This was my first time ever trying batik! I used drawing paper, rubber cement in place of wax, painted with acrylics, and used a rubber cement eraser to make the white outlines. This scene is dedicated to my favorite land, Shenkuu!

Skies Over Shenkuu
by tsuki_the_noodle
For my batik I used a white crayon, watercolor. rubbing alcohol, mixed media paper, and an iron (to remove the different layers of wax); The land that I absolutely love the most is Shenkuu.

Second Place

Eight lucky people have 5,000 NP, the Random Contest avatar and an item whizzing their way.

Home is Where the Braaaains Are
by a_gogo
Well, who WOULDN'T want to live in the Haunted Woods? The Brain Tree is a great neighbour once you get past the whole obsession with dead people. Why, he even provided the wax and inks to do this batik. Though... I didn't have the nerve to ask where they came from, I admit. Say, that blue colour looks familiar... has anyone seen that Chia vampire guy around?

AnteDiem LOVES Kiko Lake!!
by antediem
Who would not love a large lake formed within the caldera of a long-dormant volcano? A lake home to thousands of kikos? A lake renowned for it's glass-bottom boat tours and famous carpentry? Dr. Sloth. That's who WOULDN'T love it... But everyone else adores it! It is my pet's absolute favorite vacation spot, and a timeless landmark of Neopian life.
(materials used: paper, crayons, candle for melting crayons, water-color paints, salt for texture, and lots of creativity. This took several hours to make, and I hope the kikos find my humble tribute worthy of their approval!!)

Shenkuu
by fia_tje
My favourite land is Shenkuu. I started with an a3-size sketching paper (which is thicker than normal). Then I used white wax to draw the Biyako and the Hegelob you can see outside the circle. I also made a flower pattern on the top side.
After which I used (again white) wax to draw the circle in the middle. Then used coloured wax to make the landscape that can be seen. Focusing on grey colours with colour touches of green and pink (for the bamboo and tree).
Then I soaked the paper in water until it was saturated. Then added red water paint so that the pieces that aren't covered with wax are coloured. And the wax parts resisted the paint and stayed white.

Into the Woods...
by gerardz2893
It may not be an entire land, but the Gypsy Camp really deserves to be called what makes the Haunted Woods the best land, a place where everyone is unique and all of them share a nice place in the middle of the most scary place in Neopia, that takes guts. It's a really beautiful place, big celebrations and nice stories for the travellers that arrive to it, and even a real hospitality for the lost pets who are wandering in the woods.
Materials: Paper (lots of it), Paint (red, white, blue, yellow and black), Water, Scisors, Some Glue, A pen (for the little details)

Brightvale Batik
by mistressego
As you can see, my favorite land is Brightvale. This picture was made using Paper, Crayons, Watercolor paints, Water, Cotton (in place of the water color brush)

Space Station
by roadkillrose
My favorite land is the Virtupets Space Station. With the cafe and adorable adopt a Grundo, what's not to love? :) For my little paper batik, I used paper, crayons and um... yeah, food coloring which I only had one color of: Green. Heh. I know it won't win on beauty but I'm hoping that creativity will help a bit. Heh. Heh.....eh...

The Salt, The Sea, and Maraqua
by tikal_of_mobius
Materials used: India ink (blue and black), white crayon, cardstock, sumi-i brush, small sponge, sea salt.
My batik is meant to represent Maraqua, the land of Maractite, the sea, and salt. I tried to make the base look like water, with lots of alternating layers. The abstract shapes were my interpretation of Maractite runes, like a super close-up on a Maractite dagger. The salt created the sort of splatter effect, like the spray coming off a wave. Hope you like my representation of my absolute favorite world ^^

Lost Desert Mirage
by wanderinthoughtz
To create this paper batik, I started by sketching out my design on a piece of scrap paper. I then transferred the landscape to a large piece of canvas paper, drawing the outlines with chalk. Using tempera paint (which took a lot of frustrating mixing to get so many different colors of brown!) I carefully filled in the outlines with a very thick layer of paint. Once the paint was dried, I coated the entire painting with a layer of sepia india ink. Finally, I washed the ink from the painting to reveal the final results.
My favorite land is of course the Lost Desert, because it is a beautiful place with a rich history, and the best Altador Cup team! :3

Third Place

Lastly there were 100 runners-up who will each receive 2,000 NP and the Random Contest avatar.
