Random Contest Winners!
Every week or so we have a new Random Contest. The rules and events vary from competition to competition. Below are the winners from the last contest. Contest: Neopets Recipe Spectacular Milk Chocolate Jubjub Cake by evintorin Method Milk chocolate icing poured over a milk chocolate sponge cake. Finished off with milk chocolate feet and a cherry. JubJub Feet: Melt 12 oz quality milk chocolate in double-boiler, place wax paper covered posterboard cutouts of jubjub feet on wire rack, pour chocolate onto feet. Let harden, remove posterboard and wax paper. Reserve remainder of chocolate for body construction/glaze. Body: Preheat oven to 350F, heavily butter a mini ball cake pan and lightly dust with cocoa powder. Mix until frothy: 10 oz sugar and 10 oz room temperature eggs in a bowl. Mix/melt 8 oz butter and 8 oz quality unsweetened chocolate in double boiler. Fold chocolate mixture into egg-sugar foam, then fold in flour. Set cake pan on a sheet pan to avoid scorching bottom of cakes. Bake until slightly underdone, approx 15-30 minutes. Assembly: Allow cakes to cool, then remove from molds. Slightly reheat reserved chocolate in double boiler until heavy syrup consistency. Glue both halves of cake together with chocolate to form jubjub body. Slowly dribble more chocolate glaze onto top of jubjub body. Use remainder to glue jubjub feet to body. Top with a maraschino cherry. Makes 3 jubjub cakes.
