Noil Gingerbread Cake by Wifenmummy

Ingredients
For cake

  • 125 grams butter
  • 2 cups self raising flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup white sugar
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tbsp of ground ginger
  • 2 tbsp of golden syrup

For the icing

  • blue - blue food colouring, icing mixture and butter
  • white - butter, icing mixture and butter
  • pink - pink food colouring, icing mixture and butter.
  • brown - 2tsp of cocoa, icing mixture and butter.

Method

  • Cream butter, sugars and eggs in a bowl. combine flour, ginger and milk and stir.
  • Grease a baking tin and add the mixture. preheat oven 180 deg cel and place in the middle of the oven, bake for 35 mins.
  • When cool carefully cut the outline of the noil on the cake. ice the whole cake with the dark blue icing, add the white icing in a shape of a fat apple in the middle, c shapes of white icing on the ears.
  • Add the pink icing to the middle of the ears.
  • Roll the brown icing into balls and sausage shapes to make the eyes, nose and mouth.
  • Finish up with highlights and smoothing icing colours with your finger.
