 Petpet Name: Basileus Owner: laurene4e13 Pet Name: takarno_12413 Breed: White Anubis About Basileus: "Today's the day, Basi!" Basileus merely yawned. He was always moping about. The little Anubis was the most morose of all the Petpets in the house. His grey ears drooped, and he sniffled a bit before he turned exactly three times, laying back down in his little bed, facing the wall. "Aren't you excited, Basileus? We're taking a trip to the Petpet Puddle today!" Takarno said. He lifted one desert-coloured paw and poked at the Anubis. Basileus was not impressed. "Our owner said we could go! She promised, don't you remember?" Takarno cajoled. He jumped happily in circles around Basileus's bed. "Okay, I'll just have to convince you then. Have I ever told you the story of how I got painted?" Basileus turned and looked at Takarno's excited face. He sat up slowly, with a look of boredom on his tiny face. "Well, a long, long time ago, our owner was really poor. She wanted us to all look our best, and she knew I really wanted to be painted. I would walk past the Rainbow Pool and watch jealously as the lucky pets all took a dip. They came out in such wonderful colours, you couldn't imagine! And there I was, just a bland green. Well, it just so happened that one day the Fountain Faerie offered to share her magical waters for tickets! And my owner spent a lot of time collecting them so we could all be beautiful. We waited with such anticipation! When she handed her tickets to the Faerie, and let us jump in the Rainbow Fountain, we were so happy. It was the best day of my life, that is, until she gave me you as a present." At this Basileus perked up his ears. "Yes, getting you was the best day ever! That's why I wanted to share this with you. It would be really fun, and we haven't been on a trip for ages!" Basileus hopped out of his little bed and ran to the door. "See! I knew you'd want to go! Let's leave right away!" Basileus was growing excited at Takarno's happiness. He jumped at the door, and both Kougra and Anubis walked out into the sunlight. As they passed neighbours, Takarno would excitedly shout to them. "Basileus is visiting the Petpet Puddle today!" The neighbours would wave back to them and smile. When they made it as far as the Rainbow Pool, Takarno asked, "Which colour would you like, Basileus?" The little Anubis sniffed at the edge of the pool and walked over to the puddle. He poked his paw in and it turned white! "White? That's perfect for you, Basi!" The Anubis jumped in the pool happily. He came out completely white! His little tail wagged furiously, and he panted happily as he showed off his new colour to the other Petpets waiting for the puddle. "Isn't it a great feeling, Basi?" The Anubis yipped in agreement. "One day you might have a Petpetpet to tell about this day!" And he did!
