 Petpet Name: Yippie Owner: jellybeanott Pet Name: Sparkie_Flame Breed: Yooyu About Yippie: Yippie is a small brown Yooyu. She loves to play Yooyuball but can be quite timid and shy and gets scared easily. Unfortunately these aren’t the qualities you really want in professional Yooyus. Yippie trained really hard with her fellow Yooyus, often waking up at dawn and not going to sleep until after the sun went down. She loved it when they got to practice the game with their trainer and other Neopets, but then one day when their trainer felt they were old enough, they were taken down to a real Yooyuball practice at the stadium. Yippie didn’t like the player as they were really rough with her and threw her so fast through the air that she went dizzy. After just a few minutes of play she would bounce off into a corner on her own and hide under the stadium benches. All her Yooyu friends seemed to love the thrill of playing with real Yooyuball players but she couldn’t understand it. All she wanted was to go back to the times when she was younger, playing in the garden with her trainer. Sparkie_Flame the Pirate Chomby loved watching Yooyuball. He’d saved up a whole month’s worth of neopoints just so that he could pay for the trip to Altador to support his favourite team in the Altador Cup. On the last day of the tournament, Sparkie was on his way back to his hotel from the stadium when he caught sight of a small Yooyu curled up by the side of the road. The Yooyu looked up at him with big, sad eyes. Sparkie walked over to her as he looked around for the tiny petpet’s owner. He couldn’t see one anywhere so bent down and reached an arm to pet her gently on the head, and said softly, “Don’t worry little one, we’ll find your owner.” Just then a stressed looking Quiggle in an official tournament t-shirt came running around the corner. “Oh, there you are Yippie! I’ve been looking all over for you!” He shouted towards the little petpet as he came over. “Oh, is she yours?” Sparkie asked the Quiggle cautiously, “I thought she was lost and was just wondering what to do.” “Yeah, she’s one of the Yooyus I’m currently training for the game, but she just doesn’t seem to have the strength needed to make it and is always hiding and slipping away from me. I can’t afford to keep her unfortunately, so if she can’t play I’m going to have to find her a new home.” He sighed. “Really? How do you find a new owner?” Sparkie was curious. “Why? Would you like to take him? You look like a responsible, caring Neopet.” And so that is how Yippie the Yooyu came to live with Sparkie_Flame. Yippie now plays Yooyuball regularly down at the park with her owner and his friends, and she enjoys nothing more. She doesn't get frightened anymore or feel the need to run off and hide as they treat her gently and with care when they play. It’s now one year later and Yippie couldn’t be happier as she and Sparkie make their way to their seats in the packed stadium at the second Altador Cup to cheer on Krawk Island and Yippie’s old Yooyu friends who all became professional Yooyuballs.
