Ygrai Blackbolt is an unusually small, thin cherubim with dark fur, large nerdy glasses, and spectacularly pink wings that he tends to forget he has. Ygrai is very intelligent, and very talented with magic, but he's flighty and anxious, his own self-doubt limiting what he lets himself accomplish. He has a lot of eccentricities, and he pretends to be aloof and stoic, but actually has a lot to say. It's hard for him to get used to people, and he's often socially inept, leading to frequent outpourings of apologies and/or information. His eccentric behaviour helps him get through the day to day matters of his life, but repels other people, who find him odd or even aggravating. He bounds back and forth between his extreme insecurity and a sense of superiority that's rooted in his intelligence. Ygrai is analytical and a frequent sceptic, which has lead him to denounce the concepts of morality or justice (and is strongly opposed to war), but has yet to do anything rebellious out of fear of retribution. In short, he wants to be an idealist, but he's got too much of the cynic in him to do anything about it and too much of the intellectual in him to give it a chance.
