Julius Rounx is a man who has long been obsessed with the occult-- particularly demons. He's spent the greater part of his life studying them in an effort to figure out a way to summon one for himself; both in the interest of science and to satisfy a deep-seated craving for power. Little did he know that his success in summoning such a creature would dash his reputation and bring his sleepy little community to its knees.

His first summoning circle was of his own design, taking him years to construct and perfect. It gave rise to Mimic, a fog demon that not only refused to follow the natural hierarchy of summoner and demon, but seemed nothing short of thrilled to take up a physical form similar to Rounx and slither about town, breaking things and terrifying people, all at the expense of the summoner's reputation.

Despite their rocky relationship and Mimic's tendency to do whatever he wants whenever he wants, fragments of the normal summoner/demon interplay are there. Mimic is fiercely protective of Rounx and holds some degree of loyalty towards him, while Rounx feels largely responsible for the demon and its actions and is determined to find a way to un-summon him without killing him.
