He was born as a musical prodigy. Learning how to play the piano since he was so little, and he could even compose his own beautiful, breathtaking music; yet he hadn't even reached his adulthood yet. He was simply a natural.

At the age of 16, he left his friends and family in his small town near Paris; in order to pursuit his dream of being the best composer in the world. He traveled to Austria; where he had hopes of finding a full time job of composing music for the nobles and the high class aristocrats. But alas, he couldn't find anybody who was interested. He knocked on door after door; day after day, hoping to find some work; but they all rejected him in the end. So what was he supposed to do?

When he thought that he had reached a dead end, he met a small creature who was able to provide companionship and comfort to him. The creature gave him a rose petal, a thing that he held onto for so long. This made Nivec reflect on everything that he had done. Now, he takes that petal as a symbol of hope, and now he's back, and refuses to take a 'no' for his music.
