The Retired Warrior
Ah, you want to hear about the glory days? Well it really wasn't like that. Sure it sounds good now, in the reflective days after my success, but at the time it was gruelling work. The training (including the years of being zapped by a mad scientist!) was hard. I worked (if you'll excuse the saying) my behind off. When the Battledome was quiet, I trained, and when Neopia was at War, I fought. Whether it was fighting for The Defenders, fighting for justice, or even fighting for fun, I was constantly in the midst of a battle. It paid off, of course, but I will never forget the sacrifices I made.
This is me at my peak. So young, so fit, so naïve…
And one of me fighting, for the memories.
Now, I'm retired. Retirement may not look so good on me, but it sure feels fine. I get to turn fight-mode off, I get to relax; I get to do what I want, when I want to...and who knows what life holds? When I announced my retirement, it was from the Battledome, not from the exciting, hopeful and unpredictable thing that is life.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got a sunchair and an unfinished book waiting for me. As well as a big, loving family.
Thank you for all the years of support, and (friendly) enmity. 'Til we meet again.
