-------------------- the sorrow

Shadows and mist curled around him, and off in the distance a quizzical whoot, wooted...

The little gelert put a paw on his frozen nose. He felt as though he'd been here forever. Cold and alone and lost. No, not lost. Worst, forgotten. No, it was even more horrible than that. They hadn't forgotten him, they had abandoned him.

We'll be right back! Promise! they had said, laughing. They had blind-folded and then brought him here, to this place. They had left him, they'd not been right back.

And now his only comfort was in the twirling of mist and shadow. He sighed and welcomed them forlornly. His fur was laced with dew that slid past the warming guard-hairs of his coat and chilled him to the bone.

Let the shadows have me. Let this fog freeze me into a statue!" He spoke aloud, startled by the loudness of his own voice.

And so, they had taken him. Took away his fur and wrapped him in tattered shadows. Took away his skin and replaced it with a cool drizzle. All that was left of the little gelert from before was an empty eye'd skull and a broken heart.

I am not UFT.
