"I can't see anything!"

"What are we doing here?"

"What's going on?"

The crowd of Neopets was so thick that Hamerslin and Zoey were having a hard time seeing anything. Though there wasn't much to see anyway, both knew that something important was going to happen. Everyone was gathered around King Roo's golden statue in Centre Square, looking very confused. With a puff of smoke, Jhudora suddenly appeared in front of the grand crowd.

"Good afternoon," she said in a extra-sweet, yet venomous voice, "I am here on behalf of your beloved King Roo. He wishes to inform you that he has left Roo Island for a short period of time because of important business matters, and he tells you not to worry. I will be the leader of the island while he is gone.”

Hamerslin and Zoey exchanged shocked glances. Could it really have been Jhudora who transformed King Roo into a statue?

Zoey glanced at Hamerslin and the two sunk lower. Jhudora's eyes scanned the crowed, perhaps watching the island’s reaction, but when her eyes met Hamerslin's, they widened.

Hamerslin only hoped that Jhudora wasn't coming on to them. The only thing Hamerslin could think of was why. Why did Jhudora turn King Roo into a statue? He tugged on Zoey's arm, and they slipped away from the crowd.

"Oh my gosh!" Zoey exclaimed, her eyes watery again, "What are we going to do?"

In Hamerslin’s mind, there was only one possible solution to this whole dilemma. "We have to get that scroll."

“B-but why?!” Zoey exclaimed.

“Don’t you get it Zoey?” Hamerslin said, swivelling his body around.

“No, I don’t!”

Hamerslin sighed. “Fyora created an ancient rule thousands of years ago for all of the spell makers in Neopia. For every spell that a spell maker creates, they must create a magic charm that will revise the original spell. And that revision of the spell must be written on the piece of parchment! Fyora made this rule for situations like these!”

Zoey’s expression seemed relaxed for a few moments, but then returned to troubled. “But how are we going to get that piece of parchment? Jhudora is carrying it right now!”

“Don’t worry, Zoey,” Hamerslin proclaimed. “I have this all figured out. All you have to do is follow my directions. Now, follow me!”

The two Blumaroos began pushing their way through the heaps of crowds surrounding King Roo‘s statue. When they far away from the pets of Roo Island, Hamerslin led Zoey all the way back to the castle.

“Now, we wait,” Hamerslin simply said.

***************

"Shh! Here she comes!"

Hamerslin and Zoey quickly concealed themselves behind the corner of the castle, waiting for Jhudora to return. Hamerslin was ready to take action, but Zoey was feeling sick.

"Stupid pets... didn't believe a word I said," Jhudora was muttering. "Well, drastic times like these call for--"

Hamerslin suddenly sprang from his hiding spot and blocked the entrance to the castle. Jhudora took a step back, her eyes turning to purple flames.

"What do you want?" she hissed, her lip curling into a sneer.

"Miss Jhudora, my sister and I," he acknowledged Zoey, who shrank behind the castle, "we're very, very poor. I was hoping that you could give us some jobs to do. I'd be happy to work for you for the extra Neopoints."

"I have no jobs for you, imbecile!" roared Jhudora. "Now get out of my way!"

"Oh please!" Hamerslin wrapped his arms around her, in what he hope looked pitiful. "I really, really need a job!" He started to shake her. "Please! I'll do any job!" Please! Please!"

Jhudora stared at Hamerslin if he were mad. She wrenched him away, and shrieked, "Get out of my sight... before something bad happens!" She yanked open the castle door and slammed it shut.

Hamerslin's plan had worked perfectly. When Jhudora stormed into the castle, she hadn't realized what she had left behind.

Hamerslin picked up the thin scroll, feeling incredibly triumphant. He went around the corner of the castle to fetch Zoey. Zoey gasped and smiled, her eyes wide with delight when she caught sight of the scroll.

"How did you get it?"

Hamerslin grinned. "I just used a cheesy magic trick that I learned long ago."

Zoey smirked delightfully. “Oh--you are to much, Hamerslin,” she exclaimed.

Hamerslin flashed a toothy grin. “Now come on,” he said. “We need to out of here fast, before Jhudora finds out what happened.”

“Well, where do we go?”

“We’re going to Faerieland,” Hamerslin declared. “I know for fact that Fyora is the only one who’ll be able to help us with this spell!”

Zoey’s eyes were now wide as saucers. “But Faerieland is so far away!” she cried dramatically.

“I don’t care! Urgh--we need to stop wasting time. Let’s try to find an Eyrie cab!”

Zoey and Hamerslin ran off from the castle, gasping furiously while doing so. They quickly arrived on the Main Street, and began scanning the area for an Eyrie Cab.

“I see one!” Zoey suddenly yelled. She pointed her paw towards the two’s far left. She gave a signal to the Eyrie, and he sent a signal back.

The two pushed their way through the large crowds, Hamerslin keeping the scroll in his clenched hand the entire time.

When they got to the area where the Eyrie cab was located, the Eyrie asked, “Where do you two wanna’ go?”

Hamerslin gulped. “Faerieland please,” he stated nervously.

The Eyrie nodded. “That’ll be 400 Neopoints.”

Zoey slowly gazed at Hamerslin in disbelief. “We don’t have 400 Nepoints!” she hissed.

Hamerslin looked flabbergasted. He had completely forgotten about the Neopoints!

“Please sir,” Hamerslin began, “this is an extremely serious dilemma we’re in! Jhudora is going to take us away if you don’t get us to Faerieland in time!”

The Eyrie snorted. “That’s a nice lie. Have you guys used it before?”

Suddenly, the most ear-splitting screech that anyone had ever heard boomed throughout the entire island, ‘WHERE’S MY SPELL????!!!!!”

Zoey and Hamerslin exchanged frightened glances with Eyrie. “Now do you believe us?”

“Yuppers!” the Eyrie cried. “Get in, get in!”

So Zoey and Hamerslin clambered in and sat down. Their hearts were pounding as the Eyrie got a running start and then soared into the air.

Neither Hamerslin nor Zoey had ever ridden in an Eyrie Cab before. The wind whipped their faces, and Zoey had to shut her eyes for stinging tears were forming in them. Hamerslin looked down, out onto the gorgeous, sapphire sea.

"Zoey!" Hamerslin yelled above the roar. "We're flying over Meridell!" Zoey peeked out of the window, and was awed. King Skarl's castle was coming into sight with its majestic blue and red flags sailing in the wind. The Eyrie Cab zipped through a few clouds, and Zoey and Hamerslin immediately felt the moisture collect on their fur. What a fun experience this was!

Yet, it would have been even more enjoyable if Jhudora wasn't on their tail. The Faerie was a few meters away from the flying trio.

"Please, sir!" Hamerslin yelled to the Eyrie, "we have to lose Jhudora! Please go faster!"

"Lose her, you say?" The Eyrie swivelled his head around. "I have an idea..." He began slowing down the carriage for no apparent reason. But then, without warning, the cab jolted to a stop, and a loud SMACK echoed from the rear. Jhudora hadn't stopped in time, and she had crashed right into them! She floated ever so slowly, like a cloud, down to Meridell. Hamerslin and Zoey didn't see her land, because the cab was gaining speed again.

"Next stop," said the Eyrie, "Faerieland!"

In a matter of ten minutes, the cab skidded to a halt right in front of Faerieland. Zoey and Hamerslin climbed out, stammering their thanks’ to the Eyrie. Zoey's legs felt like jelly, but she tried to keep up with Hamerslin.

"How are we going to find Fyora?" Zoey yelled. "Hamerslin, she could be anywhere in this city!"

"I know exactly where she is."

"And where's that?"

"At the Hidden Tower!"

"But Hamerslin," Zoey called, "how are we going to find that?"

Hamerslin was pushing through crowds of faeries, and Zoey was just trying to keep up. He seemed to know where he was going. He suddenly stopped at the very edge of Faerieland, and held out his paws. He waved them around until feeling something solid.

"This is it..." He groped around some more on the invisible wall, and abruptly pulled something open. It was a door.

It was the door to the Hidden Tower.

Hamerslin began climbing the steps, Zoey at his heels. The stairs turned, spiralling up to the highest floor. When they reached the end of the stairs, a mahogany door stood in front of them. Zoey opened her mouth to say something, but Hamerslin knocked on the door right before her remark.

It was opened immediately by a beautiful faerie. She was wearing a long, purple dress that matched her wings and hair-colour. Her glimmering eyes seemed kind, and her face was elegant.

"Queen Fyora?" Hamerslin inquired.

"Yes," she said in a pleasent voice, "what can I do for you?"

"You've got to help us!" Hamerslin quickly launched into explanation about Jhudora, the scroll and the King Roo Statue. As she read the scroll, Fyora's delicate face turned upset.

"We must fix this right away!" She exclaimed. She subsequently flew down the steps with Hamerslin and Zoey following her.

The three quickly ran outside of the tower, panting feverously. Fyora beckoned her head towards her backside. “Hop on my back,” was all she said.

Hamerslin and Zoey scrambled on, each one holding onto another’s shoulder. Fyora kicked her heels off the pavement, and swiftly soared into the skies of her city.

“We should be there in about five seconds!” she yelled over the air.

“Huh?” Zoey and Hamerslin said at the time.

But before they could say anything else, Fyora suddenly shot herself like a bullet through the fluffy, white clouds of Neopia.

“AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!!” Hamerslin and Zoey yelled, their faces being tugged from the forcing wind.

Fyora’s body quickly came to a halt, and gently landed in the centre of Roo Island. At the sight of the two Blumaroos and Fyora, the residents of Roo Island began thrusting their paws towards the trio, their faces carrying expressions of confusion and astonishment.

“Look at them!”

“Why is Fyora here?”

“What’s going on?”

When Fyora gently clicked her heels against the concrete flooring, Hamerslin and Zoey slid off her strong back.

“Please hand me the parchment,” the Faerie proclaimed to Hamerslin.

Hamerslin nodded nervously, and fished out the thin scroll. He placed it in Fyora’s hand.

The Fyora hastily paced toward the grand statue, and began reading the spell from the scroll, “Tulia hathen menilop yoto!”

With everyone’s eyes as wide as saucers, the rock-hard material began gradually disappearing from King Roo’s body. The spell first began working it’s magic around King Roo’s head, then slowly slid down his body. After a few seconds of waiting, King Roo was no longer a lifeless statue.

Cries of confusion began flooding the crowds of Roo Island. King Roo gazed around in puzzlement, attempting to figure out what was happening.

Fyora stood alongside Hamerslin and Zoey for a few minutes, then quietly raised her hand in the air. Doing this made the crowds quiet down for some strange reason. With the residents silent, Fyora, Hamerslin, and Zoey began explaining about all the uncanny things that had happened to King Roo. King Roo began explaining his tale as well, for the memories were now slowly drifting into his mind.

“So, I used the revision spell, and this caused King Roo to turn back to a Blumaroo. And now, I am here, explaining the story to you all.”

Fyora had just finished the lengthy tale of the happenings.

The citizens blinked in bewilderment. None of them could believe that this had all happened in a period of one day, without them not even realizing it! But after a few minutes, a Blumaroo started clapping. And another did as well. And a third one. And a fourth. And this began spreading upon the crowds. And soon, everyone was clapping and cheering for the two rescuers, Hamerslin and Zoey. The two Blumaroos blushed at the wonderful sight, but still bowed in honour.

After the crowds began simmering down, Zoey turned to Fyora and asked, “What’s going to happen to Jhudora?”

The Faerie Queen grinned gleefully. “Don’t worry, my faeries will take care of her.”

Zoey and Hamerslin began laughing at the comment, and deep inside their warm hearts, everything felt so incredibly peaceful and happy. And the way things were looking, it seemed as if Roo Island would turn out this way as well.
