Quote of the Week

He sauntered inside, and Evett scrambled to follow suit. As soon as he did, the world seemed to change shape. Low-hanging fog choked out the light as swiftly as a curtain passing over the sky, and a heavy, cloying presence in the air rose up to replace it. Ferns and moss sprang up from the ground to wind around Evett’s legs with every step. Though most of the crawling plants and trees hardly rose higher than his head, he felt as if a crushing weight had fallen upon his shoulders.

15 Overlooked Petpets

Most caring Neopet owners want their pets to eventually have a Petpet. And some Petpets are more famous than others, either because they are featured in games, avatars, or because they can be easily found around Neopia outside of shops.

Do You Love Free Stuff?

Do you love free stuff? I think we all do. There is just something so satisfying about getting something without paying for it, whether it is a really rare Battledome weapon or even just a common NeoHome decoration.

"The Faerie Academy" by kenorencee
Joura stared at the paper on the desk before her, pencil poised and ready to write. She knew she would be forced to make this decision before graduating from the Faerie Academy, but it had come so soon. She looked around at her fellow Faerie students, watching them scribble excitedly as they answered the question that most of them had probably known since they began their training. Yet, Joura didn’t know how to answer the question before her. “What form of magic will you specialize in after graduation?” All Faeries begin as neutral beings, able to use all Faerie magic. As they grow older, they begin to specialize in one kind of magic, and this determines the kind of Faerie they will become. For most, the choice is easy - Faeries tend to be born with a natural talent for one form of magic over the others. Even now, with graduation still weeks away, Joura could see the clear wings of some of her classmates already changing colors. Her own wings were still clear, giving no hint as to what path she should choose. Letting out a sigh, Joura wrote “undecided” on her paper and turned it in.

"Steel- The Greatest Chef in the World!...Almost" by rkbear
“This is the best dish I have ever tasted ever!” Mumbo Pango raved, waving the rest of Steel’s sandwich in the air. “I have never been so satisfied, I will release the Flotsam Chef and only eat once a week from now on. You have pleased me! Now-Wake up, Steel! It is time for breakfast! Mom made omelettes!” “Huh?” --- “Oh, it was just a dream…”Steel blinked in the bright sunlight. He found himself in his own purple bed in his own purple room, with his Barlow sleeping on his chest. He could hear his younger siblings talking and chatting excitedly downstairs. One of them was calling his name. “Steel! Come on! You know mom won’t let us eat till we are all at the table!” His sister Jungle called his name again. Jungle may have been the smallest of all of them, but she had the biggest appetite. “I’m coming,” the darigan poogle called back pushing Bon Appétit off his chest. He dressed quickly and rushed down the stairs with his Petpet running after him. “Come on!” She insisted. She was waiting for him at the doorway to the kitchen. “What took you so long?”

"An Off Morning" by arqien
Larry woke up early Tuesday morning. Something was off, but he couldn't quite place it. Sure, he woke up before his alarm went off - but that wasn't it. He didn't really want to get out of bed, but he felt it better to just get up and moving. If he stayed in bed he would just wallow in his thoughts and considering how off he already felt, it wasn't a chance he was eager to take. He got up and put coffee on as he does every morning, and he whipped up a bowl of Fantastic Fly Pie - a Quiggle's favorite breakfast. It was a tradition he carried down from his father, at least. So, maybe not an official sentiment, but a family motto he stood by. Larry slowly made his way upstairs to the bathroom to brush his teeth, and to finish washing up for the morning. He decided to take a longer shower this morning, as he got up a bit earlier than usual, and he was enjoying the warm water, wishing the weather outside were as warm and satisfying as the water pouring down from his showerhead. "I'm so in need of a vacation," Larry thought as he wrapped up his shower and prepared to get dressed. Larry is a manager over at the NC Mall.

The problem – one of them, at least – with owning the single copy of a rare, priceless, personal and dangerous item – was that Harker couldn’t tell anyone.

The River that Flows Eternal
Morning came with little fanfare. Evett and Rikti woke and stood slowly, squinting in the light. The rainclouds were gone, leaving only a muggy scent on the air. Today was a warm day, sure to get warmer.
