Quote of the Week
"This wasn't a game, and it wasn't fun. Not for us," he said, "Can’t you do something else, that doesn't scare other Neopets? I mean, less than you need to when you're in the Haunted Woods."
Mighty Moehog: Judge Hog
With Moehog Day being celebrated this month, I wanted to take a look at the species as well as sit down with perhaps the most famous Moehog of them all: Judge Hog. But before I get into this fascinating character, let's get into some background on the species and his personal work!
Prepare for the Altador Cup
This year’s Altador Cup is as anticipated as ever! Whether you plan on contributing to your team by playing Yooyuball, Make Some Noise, Slushie Slinger, or Shootout Showdown, preparation is the key to keeping up your team spirit and your game.
Moehog Day Festivities
Moehogs get all the glory every year on the 14th day of Hunting (also known as May 14). With the release of new colors and new Moehog related items, this is a day long awaited for by lovers of the species, myself included.

"Your pizza has arrived, sire.”
King Jazan looked up from the scroll he was reading. In the doorway stood a Nimmo guard, holding a flat, square cardboard box.
The king of Qasala rose to his feet with a grin. “Ah, excellent!” he said, reaching for the box. “Thank you. This will complete Nabile’s and my evening of card games quite nicely. Nabile!” he called over his shoulder. “Pizza’s here!”
“Great!” Nabile replied from the other room, where she was looking for their deck of cards.
Jazan’s mouth watered as he lifted the lid of the pizza box, eager to enjoy each cheesy slice. Suddenly, however, a pungent odour wafted out of the box and into his face, making his nose wrinkle. It smelled like— His eyes widened in horror. “Oh, bother,” he said with a frown. “They messed up and added mushrooms.” He hated mushrooms.
“You could just pick them off, sire,” the Nimmo suggested.
“It’s too late,” Jazan sighed. “Their taste leaks into the cheese and ruins the whole pizza.”
“Would you like me to find the delivery-Blumaroo for you, Your Majesty?” the guard asked. “I’m sure he can’t have gone too far.”
Jazan held out a hand. “No, no. I’m a sorcerer—I can certainly solve a problem as petty as the wrong pizza topping.” He strode over to the table and set down the offending food, grimacing at the overpowering stench of mushrooms. “It’s nothing a simple curse can’t take care of. Observe.”
|"Don't Hug Me, I'm Magma!" by almightynyx
It all started with a horribly placed game of tag.
“Hey, HEY!! I said quit running around here! Someone’s going to get hurt!” the magma Tonu yelled angrily, slamming his spear into the hard ground for emphasis. But it wasn’t clear if the spastic Neopets were ignoring him, or just plain couldn’t hear him over their laughing and screaming.
“CAN’T CATCH ME!!” a red Xweetok said between laughs. However, looking back for his blue Hissi friend to judge how far away he was, he ran smack into a rock.
With a sly, cocky grin, the Hissi poked the Xweetok on the back. “You’re it,” he declared triumphantly before speeding off himself.
“THAT’S NOT FAIR, SCHYFF! You can’t kick a Neopet when they’re down!!” the Xweetok argued.
“It wasn’t a kick, it was a poke!” Schyff replied with another laugh. But with that, the Xweetok got up and charged right towards him with a twisted look of rage and determination on his face. Schyff’s eyes widened and he took a run for it.
“For the LAST TIME, stop running around or I’ll---!” the Tonu began, but suddenly fell asleep with a snore. Even still, the poor guy went unnoticed and unheard.
“Yottir calm down! It wasn’t like I made you run into the rock!” Schyff yelled while running away from the angry Xweetok. He was always a sore loser.
This only added to Yottir’s fire, however. You never tell an angry Xweetok to ‘calm down.’ “Oh so you’re SCARED now?” he yelled back, closing in on him.
|"Happy Little Usul" by miliane085
Nobody would chat and speculate with me about Hannah, nobody cared about the things I liked. I couldn’t blame them, though. There was nothing special about me, nothing to make me interesting. I had always been a small, green Kacheek, not a dashing Usul like Hannah. Oh, what would I give to be cool like her…
Lianna had never understood my admiration of her, but then again she was amazing like Hannah her self. As long as I had known her, she had had a beautiful pastel-coloured fur, befitting a cute, artistic girl like her. I don’t know how she did it, but despite being a mere Kacheek like me, she managed to shine on her own. Everyone liked her, and even though she was part of the cool crowd at our school she was genuinely nice to everyone. Mom had been so happy when she came home with her from the Pound. I was content to stay in her shadow. At least back then I was. I had always been a bit shy and making friends was really hard for me. I didn’t have that many people to talk to.
I shambled to the kitchen where mom was making tea. She smiled when she saw me.
“Would you like a cup, too?”
“Yes please,” I said half-heartedly. She frowned.
“Is everything okay?”
I sat silently, and took a sip. I had to fight back tears, and the hot liquid that filled my stomach didn’t make it any easier. “I don’t know…” I sighed again. “It’s just… I would like to be noticed sometimes.”
Mom put her hand over mine. “Who do you want to notice you?” she smiled softly.
“I don’t know… Anyone!” I exclaimed. “Why can’t I be more like… like Hannah!”
