Quote of the Week

"Right! I think it's time we discussed why Scarlet and I are here. We're here to help you guard the shield." Aspen said. Harvard raised an eyebrow. "I'm glad we'll have you around Sir Aspen but I'm not sure if Scarlet Shadow would be of much help." He said. Sopherie bristled at those words. It seemed like today was 'Underestimate Sopherie' day. Jeran approached Sopherie.

Four Legged Friends NP Wearables: Jan-June

A: Okay, let's get down to business! Hi there everyone! We are back with another edition of Four Legged Friends. Not familiar with us? Well, I (Amanda) am a huge eyrie fan and Hayley is a huge Gnorbu fan - we want to highlight wearables and show customizations that are specifically dedicated to four-legged pets! H: We have been busy with work and school, but thought that now was a good time for another edition of FLF. Why? Because there have been so many awesome NP-only wearables out so far this year, we want to bring them to your attention. We get super excited about customizing, and we want you to get excited with us! YAY!

Unpopular, Yet Favorited Games Across Neopia

Neopets features tons of games available, many of which are excellent ways of earning Neopoints if you’re willing to put forth the effort. (I myself have played random games out of the blue and was surprised that I earned an easy 3k from them) Many of these games go unnoticed or unplayed simply because they’re not on the front page of the Games Room or they’re just not popular enough in general for anyone to want to play them at all. So what did I do in response to this? I asked the Neo community about their favorite games that they knew weren’t very popular, but still played regardless.

The Best and Worst of Neopia

The one thing about growing up in the land of Neopia is… Well… There are a lot of things! For one, think of all the friends you have made over the years, not just in your Owners’ guild, but in all the lands around you. You think your Owner is as well traveled as a Neopet? Well, maybe not in that strange fantasy world called the ‘real world’ that your Owner supposedly lives in, but here in our world? Yeah, right here we can travel all over the world and not even have to hop on one of those weird contraptions called an airplane. Oh no, not our Paper Airplanes, like the Darigan Paper Airplane, but like the one your Owner speaks of, something with metal and actually flies through the air like our paper airplanes do. Don’t ask me how it works, young one, that’s way beyond my older years.

"There can only be one!" the magistrate yelled. He was a small, yellow blumaroo who bounced around on his tail when he got too nervous. Right now, you couldn't even watch him lest you got motion sickness. Fyora gently reached her arm out and placed it atop the magistrates head, keeping him firmly to the ground. The blumaroos eye twitched as he held back from bouncing even more. "So two faeries were born of one star, tonight. Just because it has never happened in history before does not mean it should not happen. Nor does it mean it will not happen again. We must think about this rationally, and *calmly*, sir." Fyora made sure to emphasize the word "calmly", just for the blumaroos ears. "But your majesty, the effects on Faerieland, or even Neopia as a whole, could be devastating! We do not understand how much power two faeries of one kind can hold!" "So must we jump to the conclusion that it would be so awful? We have faeries of the same kind right now." "Yes," the blumaroo responded, "but none that were born together. They share the same level of power- and that is dangerous." "Then I will raise them within the castle walls. Raise them properly and without judgement, and perhaps when they grow they will use their powers for good, and not evil." Fyoras voice was soft and gentle; and although she hoped for the best of the two small faerie infants that rest inside the Kruledor moon crater, she still left room for worry.

"The Dinner" by grimmbones7
It was a dreary day. Alfred hobbled across the Neopia Central path and waved to the Money Tree. He unlocked the Post Office and began dusting his collections. He picked up his favourite framed photo and gently dusted it off. He went through his daily routine of signing off on shipments and organizing his stock. Whenever a happy, plucky customer came in Alfred put on a smile and helped them find what they needed. He grew tired of the same routine day in and day out. He pondered retiring for a moment and then shook his head. If he gave up the shop, he wouldn’t have anything to keep him occupied. He remembered years and years ago when he owned the Food Shop with his wife and son. Young Alfred sprinkled the flour on the counter as his son helped to flatten out the dough. “Papa, do I roll it out like this?” the little chia asked. Alfred looked down at his son and laughed. “You have flour on your nose!” Annie popped her head in the kitchen. “Come on boys, we have to get the bread out for the customers!” Alfred smiled. Annie was always rushing around to get everything done. He took over flattening out the dough, got them in the pans, and lifted them into the oven. As he set the time, he went to the orchard to get the baskets of fresh fruit. “Papa, look at me! Look at me, I’m flying!”

"Learning from Rejection: A Story of Redemption" by rocksysmom
Due adjusted the basket hanging from the crook of her elbow before putting her paw on the doorknob on the front door of her home. After being let off early from work, she was excited to spend the day working on her arts and crafts. As soon as she opened the door, however, she smelled the distinctive, salty scent of jelly tinged tears. She tried to put it out of her mind as she began to pull her hood off to place it on the coat rack. However, before she could even pull the hood off of her head, she heard the muffled, blubbering sobs of her younger sister. She took a deep breath before making her way into the kitchen. Due was more than happy to console her sisters, especially since she had so much energy from a slow day at the bakery. However, she was always worried that she wouldn’t be able to console them. And, as luck had it, her jelly shoyru sister was the hardest to console. The translucent purple shoyru was sitting with her head pressed against the table, her tears forming a sticky puddle around her head and matting her black wig with what was essentially sugar water. Before the shoyru could notice Due, the usul began to assess the situation to the best of her ability. There were letters scattered all over the table and a pen piercing the shoyru’s paw. The pen didn’t concern Due, however, because that was the only way her little sister was able to write in a manner that was even remotely legible. It didn’t hurt the shoyru at all, as the jelly very easily gave way and quickly repaired itself after the pen was taken out.

An Uprising of Sweepers: Part Five
A week later, Orcius was going through the map and sheaf of parchments that they had drawn up their plans on the past three months since they recruited. Scanning through all the words and diagrams, he asked himself if they had somehow overlooked something somewhere. He was deep in thought when Adian made his appearance in the loft, where they have taken to having their “headquarters meeting”.
