Quote of the Week
The pair opened the door, and slowly descended the stairs, their heads bowed to keep a low profile. Outside of the room, it was like a scene of walking desert zombies. Neopians everywhere had a dazed stare washed over their faces, and they shuffled slowly from point to point. It looked as if time stood still, and everyone moved in slow motion. The only thing that seemed to animate normally were the clouds passing in the sky, and the leaves on the trees that swayed gently in the breeze.
Springtime Customization Options
As the weather switches back and forth between the end of winter and the beginning of spring, many Neopians are busy trying to update their Neopets’ old winter, Easter, and even Valentine’s Day customizations. Below, I will list a few of the most stunning (and of course my favorite) spring-themed backgrounds, clothing, and other essential accessories!
Purveyor of Precious Toys
As Lupe Day approaches, the minds of Neopians across the globe turn to famous Lupes that have contributed to our world. In honor of this holiday, my Purple Lupe named Snazztacular and I decided to interview a famous Lupe: the shopkeeper of the Toy Store in Neopia Central.
The 7 "Don’ts" of Daily Dare
Finally, Daily Dare is back. You waited that long and now you don’t want to miss a single moment, right? Of course it is! Let’s get to it!
|"The Bennett Files: Neggs Over Easy" by amarettoball
At this time of year in Altador, the pets working at Gardener's Rest were busy putting together the finishing touches on the annual Negg hunt, the main event of the Negg Festival. Pets were milling about on the streets, anticipating the announcement signaling the start of the hunt. One Woodland Uni decided to stay inside, however, choosing instead to focus on a few odd experiments. His name was Bennett, and as a detective, he reasoned that he had better things to do than to search for brightly-colored Neggs like a hyperactive child.
A knock on the door interrupted his thoughts. It opened without waiting for a response, and found a ghost Zafara standing on the threshold. "Are you the private investigator, Bennett?" she asked, her voice having the slight whistling quality that most ghost pets had.
She seemed out of breath, her luminescent chest heaving as she stood there. Bennett raised an eyebrow.
"That's correct," Bennet said. "What can I do for you, Miss -"
"Dresellia, and I've come about an urgent situation at the annual Negg hunt," she said, stepping further into the office and plunking herself down on a seat. "There's been some rapscallion who sent the Negg Faerie the most disturbing letter this morning."
She put a hand into her pocket and rummaged around for a while, before finally pulling free a crumpled bit of paper. She leaned across to the Uni. "Here, you better read it for yourself."
Bennett took the paper and unfolded it, scanning its contents.
|"Rawr, the Fiercest Tasu" by amethyst_81
"Shoy, do you think I'm fierce?"
The query arose from a small speckled Faerie Tasu whose crystal blue eyes looked expectantly up at his best friend, Shoy, aka shoyrusrock_2004.
“Fierce, Rawr? How many times have I told you that faeries aren't fierce? Faeries are graceful and elegant, soft-spoken, and charming. We flit, we don't...pounce!" Shoy admonished as he caught Rawr by the scruff mid-pounce.
“I'm pretty sure I've seen Jhudora pounce a few times before...," muttered Rawr under his breath. "It's just that all the other Tasus are so tough - petpets get out of their way when they see them coming. I'm a Tasu too, but...but I can't even scare away a cloud!” Rawr whined as he tried to push away the tiny Strale that floated up alongside him. Shoy gently put Rawr down on tree branch and took a deep breath.
"Rawr, being able to intimidate others and scare them out of your way is not a sign of being fierce or respected, it means that you're a bully. People don't respect bullies; they may fear them, but they don't respect them. Tell me, who do you think is the fiercest of all Neopets?”
“Why, Kougras of course!" Rawr replied with a cocky tone of voice as he flashed his claws and arched his back in an imitation that nearly sent him flying off his tree branch. "Everyone knows that Kougras are the greatest warriors in Neopia! Us felines gotta stick together," Rawr said with an exaggerated toss of his head.
|"Two Cups of Islandberry Juice" by amulet_strawberry
"So I have this idea.”
Aristotle A. Avinroo didn’t have to look up from the game screen; multitasking was his strong point.
“Do tell,” he said.
Abigail tried her best to explain while maneuvering the speeding Meerca on the game screen. Her brother stated that games helped to strengthen various skills, such as focusing on two things at once.
“You know how you started that Games Master Challenge thing last month?” She took a moment to dodge a red Negg. “I was thinking that maybe I could do something like that with you.”
AAA smiled. “Tell me more.”
She continued. “Well, since I’m not exactly a pro gamer, maybe participants who are at my level could try to beat my score, and more experienced gamers could choose to challenge you. Then we’d do that every day for about a month.”
“A challenge, huh?” The yellow Blumaroo flicked his fingers on the game controller. “Kind of like a dare.”
Abigail’s sea green eyes lit up. “A daily dare!”
Her brilliant name she came up with caused her to jump up from the sofa, but in the process also led her Meerca to crash into its own tail. Her score—the typical amount of a little under a hundred—flashed on the screen in white letters.
AAA purposely grabbed a red Negg to end his game. He wanted to discuss more of the event idea with his sister. The Blumaroo took a sip of his favorite beverage: Islandberry Juice. Abigail drank the same juice from her glass as well.

Do you know what I hate? Wind. There was a time when I didn’t hate wind. A time when I didn’t care one way or another about this weather condition. Now though, I truly do hate it.
|Underoffering on the PC: Crime or Struggle?|
The Pound Chat (PC) is a scary place, to a newcomer it’s positively terrifying. Once you learn the lingo and get used to bumping with a smiley or full stop, you might be forgiven for thinking your trial ends there. “But wait!”, you hear the PC cry. What about… values?
