Quote of the Week
Princess Fyora noticed a Korbat, seated on the grass, eyes toward the ground. She could not bear to see someone so lonely and downcast so she quietly flew over to his side and tapped on his shoulder. The Korbat slowly raised his head, greeted by Fyora’s outstretched hand. He stared for a moment and then shook his head.
However, Fyora was not about to give up. She gently tugged on his shoulder. Still, he would not budge, not even an inch. Fyora decided to sit down next to him.
"What is your name?" she said in her soft, gentle voice. The Korbat went back to staring at the ground. After about a minute of awkward silence, he replied.
"Hello Darigan, I’m Fyora," she said, holding out her hand.

|"Proving the Existence of Jelly World" by greenj12356
In a building down a dark alley in Neopia Central, a group of pets got together to discuss an idea that many would not be able to voice in public.
“Now, I’m not saying it is true right away,” Started their self-proclaimed leader, a Jelly Kau named Jeandra, “But suppose that Jelly World does actually exist.” There were some gasps from the group, but most of them nodded their heads. They were all Jelly pets after all. Believing that more items, and even whole lands could also be made out of Jelly was not so farfetched to them. “All throughout history we have heard of pet’s hushed whisperings of a world made of Jelly. But all of these pets have been quickly silenced, or labeled as insane. Darigan still holds a prisoner in his dungeons that goes on about Jelly World, but that isn’t the only pet to speak of this land. In my research quite a few pets wound up at Meepit Oaks Sanitorium for even trying to gather together like we are now, and discuss this rationally.”
“But why?” a Grarrl in the crowd questioned. “It seems to me that if this land does exist, there should be an effort made to find it. Why would someone go to such lengths to hide its existence from the rest of Neopia?” The group of the Jelly pets listening nodded their agreement.

Jacob flicked the switch on the coal-sorter and waited on baited breath. This would be the one, surely. The Christmas Kacheek had spent far too many hours on the device for it to backfire again. Slowly one steam-powered rotor began to turn and moved the coal from one pile into its internal furnace. It worked just as planned: a breakthrough, in his eyes.
"Stealth! Come here! It's actually working!" he yelled to his friend. Stealth, a Silver Eyrie, turned from the twelve-piece jigsaw puzzle he was struggling with at the kitchen table to see his friend beaming with joy.
"That's great! So glad to see it finally come together," he said as he gave his friend a pat on the shoulder with his wing.
"Come to think of it, Stealth, aren't you almost late for that delivery run? You wouldn't want to lose another job, you know?"

The investigation had taken longer than most, but eventually Martenik had narrowed it down to two suspects.
One of them had certainly stolen the Air Faerie’s blue topaz crystal.
Gohk, a checkered Tonu wearing a bright set of Pant Devil shorts, sat in front of him for another round of questioning.
“So,” began Martenik, “You were there at the banquet for the entire meal. You stayed for dessert, you got the Air Faerie’s autograph, and then you went home. Is that right?”
“Yup. That’s it,” Gohk rasped.
“What was for dessert?” asked Martenik, out of curiosity.
“I, uh… well, I don’t remember, exactly. After so many banquets these past few months, all the menus seem to blend together. You know how it is.”
Martenik actually had not been to a party or a banquet in at least two years. This crime-solving business had taken up so much of his time, he often had trouble remembering just what Neo-year it was. And that Pirate Aisha Morphing Potion he’d taken last week had left him with the strangest ears he’d ever had. With any luck, he hoped, his owner would soon change him back to being a Skeith. He allowed himself a moment to reminisce. (Those had been some handsome ears, back then. And the teeth, too! I could eat anything!)

But then again, experience has taught me time and again that it isn’t size, but how one handles yourself in situations. Which proved its point almost immediately after that.

They stood there, in the pouring rain, waiting for the end of the world. It was always the end of the world, in a child’s eye. A year lived to a five year old is a millennia, a day a decade of turbulence and revolution. Time moves like molasses when one’s running through their fathers’ poppy garden at the speed of sound, the most minor changes an earthquake rocking the world out of orbit.
This change was anything but minor.
